Fans of sports and all of entertainment have many extremely recognizable figures to adore and look up to. There are stars of screen, stars of the gridiron or the court, stars of the squared circle etc. However, few individuals can transcend all of these areas and be an extremely successful figure in multiple avenues. Two of these such individuals would be squaring off at EBWF Summerslam for the richest prize in the world of pro wrestling, the EBWF World Title. Chris Jericho was perhaps the biggest and best of all time when it came to EBWF success and glory. He was an 11 time World Champion (the most of anyone) and the current reigning champ. With Jake Hager by his side, he perhaps has become more sadistic and more vindictive than he had ever been during his entire illustrious career with the company. He also was a success outside of the ring serving as a front man for the rock group, Fozzy, who had gained an extremely dedicated and loyal following over their years of making tunes. His opponent at Summerslam was a man that many thought would never make his return to pro wrestling in any full time/real type of way. He had become one of the worlds most recognizable movie stars, after several early years both in the EBWF and other promotions. The Rock was a household name- but Dwayne Johnson was perhaps more widely known. Which is why when The Rock emerged victorious in the EBWF King of the Ring- many fans of the promotion were extremely surprised, but also excited that this may mean a longer stay for "The Great One" in his first love- pro wrestling. The Rock had said publicly and privately that his return to EBWF programming was not going to be short lived- he was back full time- and now after his King of the Ring tourney victory he was in the position to become the companies World Champion for the first time. For as big of a star as Rocky was, Chris Jericho had done everything in his power over the course of the last month, to remind The Rock just who the biggest and brightest star was in the EBWF. Along with Hager, Jericho issued a pair of vicious beatdowns earlier this month, that left The Rock battered and bruised. In recent weeks, The Rock has retaliated showing that he could still be as resourceful and quick as he once was at a younger age. From champagne baths to surviving 2 on 1 assaults. The Rock looked locked in, primed, and ready to become the #1 guy in the company. The Rock- Chris Jericho- two huge names- two huge stars- fighting in one HUGE match. It was perhaps one of the most anticipated matches in recent EBWF memory. A perfect way to end the summer.

The scene opened up in the trophy room of The People's Champ- The Rock. In the background of the shot, we saw title belts, movie posters, and countless pictures of The Rock in the ring/ Dwayne Johnson and co-stars on set. It was essentially a shrine to all of the wonderful accomplishments and memories that The Rock had accrued over his career in the ring and on screen. In the center of the shot, sitting down in a directors chair of sorts, wearing a black fitted t-shirt, black slacks, sunglasses over his eyes and a very serious look on his face, was The Rock. After a couple of beats he broke the silence.

The Rock: Now as you all know, the man that you're looking at right now.. is a man who needs no introduction. Whether you like wrestling, whether you've been to the movies, whether you've picked up people magazine, logged on to TMZ.com, whatever you've done.. you know who you're looking at right now. You know that the man you're looking at right now.. is the great one, the chosen one, the people's champ... The Rock. The Rock is the epitome, the definition, of a celebrity. However, it is more important to The Rock now, more than even ever before, that he is NOT looked at as a general celebrity.. but instead.. a professional wrestler. You see The Rock burst onto the scene, years and years and years ago. A young buck, a young stud, trying to make his name. Trying to captivate a nation, trying to rewrite what it meant to be a star in the squared circle. The Rock scratched, he clawed, he bled, he sweat, until he became one of the most recognizable superstars that pro wrestling had ever seen. Then The Rock decide to conquer a new frontier. Movies. Was The Rock a natural actor? No he wasn't a natural actor.. but again The Rock studied, he watched, he learned- until The Rock became one of Hollywood's biggest and most recognizable actors as well. Then The Rock did something, that he wishes he never did. He tried to do both. He tried to dabble with wrestling, and then also make movies. The Rock stretched himself thin, where he wasn't focused on one thing, and so he did neither thing as well as he could or should. That is when The Rock made a choice. A choice that would change his world, for the better. He decided to retire from making movies, hang up the scripts, the glitz and the glamour of tinsel town, and focus on his first love- full time. Since that day The Rock has stormed into the EBWF- on a mission. A mission to not just be here - but to dominate- and to conquer yet another frontier. You see The Rock- WWE- huge star- huge success. However- in the EBWF- The Rock has always been.. just another guy. Since The Rock's latest return though, The Rock has been dedicated, locked in, on changing that once and for all. You see The Rock, in no way shape or form, could ever be just another guy. The Rock is made, he's wired, he's meant.. to be THE guy. So that is what The Rock set out to be a few months back. So since that realization came into the head of The People's Champ, there has been nothing but a concerted effort to reach the top, the pinnacle of this company. The Rock's big opportunity to meet that goal... King of the Ring. The Rock knew, win that tournament, and get a chance at Summerslam to become EBWF.. champion. SO The Rock- one by one- by damn one picked up victories en route to become the 2020 King of the Ring.. which re-introduced The Rock.. once again.. to Chris Jericho. You see Chris Jericho, is no stranger to The Rock. The Rock grew up in this business, and has always been a fan of it. So whether The Rock was competing in the ring, or off making a film.. The Rock has followed Chris Jericho's run through the world's biggest company, the EBWF. The Rock has seen Chris Jericho.. literally DO IT ALL.. Chris Jericho has won titles.. he's sang lead vocals in a rock band.. he's sucked on Wes Ikeda's nipples.. in place of regular whole milk.

The Rock paused for comedic effect.

The Rock: He's been a busy.. busy boy. Throughout all that time though, The Rock has never seen Chris Jericho scared. The Rock has never seen Chris Jericho back down, or cower, or really show any signs of weakness. The Rock has never liked Chris Jericho, but he's always respected him. That is of course until Chris Jericho realized just what a King of the Ring victory for The Rock meant. Until Chris Jericho realized just what The Rock becoming the #1 contender to his EBWF Championship meant.. because when Chris Jericho realized.. when his little honey roasted peanut sized brain was able to process that he would soon have to go ONE.. ON.. ONE with the Great One. Chris Jericho's whole aura, his whole vibe, completely and unequivocally changed. Chris Jericho went from a sharp, confident, larger than life star.. to a school boy, babbling, baby back bitch. No longer did Chris Jericho ooze confidence, no longer did Chris Jericho seem sure of himself.. Chris Jericho seemed instead now like an adult man that had to carry around pee pee pads like he was an untrained new puppy. Chris Jericho, knew that a date with The Rock, meant a date with his monkey ass getting whopped all over Summerslam. So what did Chris Jericho do? He began to research. He begin to look into one thing. So he grabbed his computer.. he opened up his lap top.. typed into google. "Big Strong Man- to watch my behind"

The Rock once again paused to let that line get a laugh from the viewers.

The Rock: Enter. Google was like "Big Strong Man to watch my behind?" Chris Jericho was like "YES BIG STRONG MAN TO WATCH MY BEHIND- I NEED A STRONG MAN TO WATCH MY BEHIND!" Google was like OKAY- you got it you SICK FREAK. Spit back at Chris Jericho website after website- of big strapping men.. watching the behinds of smaller, weaker, flabbier men. So after hours.. days.. of watching these videos.. Chris Jericho was a wreck. Lotion everywhere. Arm cramped. He finally found what he was looking for. Chris Jericho found a big strong man to watch.. his behind.. he found.. Jake Hager. Jake Hager was a man that arrived in Chris Jericho's life..as a result of that google search.. those days of intense viewing of different guys. Different candidates for the job. Chris Jericho was meticulous, he was thorough, and Jake Hager changed his life. Chris regained his confidence.. he regained his edge.. proving that sometimes after you "JACK" you regain your "Swagger."

The Rock paused again looking intensely into the camera.

The Rock: So enter Jake Hager- now Jericho is walking around once again. Love handles bouncing in the wind, feeling like a million bucks. Days of peeing his pants behind him. Now he wants to tell The Rock, to show The Rock, just why he's the top guy. So like all tough guys do.. Chris Jericho and his knew found "right hand"

Long pause.

The Rock: Man.

Another pause.

The Rock: They decide that they are going to ambush The Rock, to beat up The Rock, and leave The Rock gasping for air in the middle of The Rock's ring. Which is fine, you see The Rock was OK with this, because despite The Rock getting his ass kicked by these two men. The Rock knew that behind their bravado, and behind Jericho's smug arrogance, that their attacking The Rock, beating up The Rock.. showed that Chris Jericho was still... scared. There was no way in Chris' head that he was going to head to Summerslam without using Jakes assistance to try and weaken The Rock. As Chris Jericho soon figured out.. weakening The Rock.. was not easy. Putting The Rock down.. yeah they succeeded in that.. but keeping The Rock there.. not going to happen. Because as you know The Rock came back stronger than ever, and over the last two weeks The Rock doused Mike and Ike with champagne. The Rock made Chris Jericho break a bottle over Hagers head and then proceeded to WHAM.. drop him, Rock Bottom center of the ring. Proving that The Rock, was despite the early assaults was not.. backing.. down. The look that The Rock saw on Chris Jericho's face as Warfare went off the air.. was one of a man.. that knew.. that his time as World Champion.. was about to run out. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Chris. TICK. TOCK. Chris Jericho gave The Rock a look that was knowing.. and what he was "knowing" was that The Rock was quite frankly just going to kick his candy ass all over Summerslam.. and walk out EBWF.. Champion. So The Rock comes before all of you today- a man who is determined- a man who is focused- and a man who also understands that despite Chris Jericho's clear defense mechanisms. Despite Chris Jericho's clear insecurities, despite Chris Jericho's quite literal CRY for HELP to one Jake Hager, The Rock knows that inside Chris Jericho- there is something that has allowed him to become an 11 time World Champion.. The Rock realizes that inside Chris Jericho- there's something that has allowed him to not only get to the top.. but stay there. Inside Chris Jericho- there is something that has made him successful and the companies top dog for many years.. unfortunately Wes Ikeda declined an interview.. so that left The Rock at square one..

The Rock paused and looked intensely into the camera.

The Rock: So The Rock decided to go to the source. To talk to the Jerichoholics. To, similar to the way The Rock prepped for a role, study his subject. The Rock decided he would fully prepare himself for perhaps his greatest role ever, a role The Rock has waited days, months, years, decades even to obtain.. and that role is the role of EBWF.. Champion. So The Rock invites all of you to sit back and relax, and watch The Rock's final film. "Y2-Jaded- Chris Jericho's Forever Run in the EBWF. " Enjoy.

The Rock cocked an eyebrow and the scene faded into the film. The screen flashed several images of Jericho in the EBWF over the years. The clips included sound bites of Jericho verbal assaults, along with in ring successes, title raising, and just a quick little montage of all that was and had been Chris Jericho. The screen got fuzzy and then a quick static was seen, as it cut to more recent day footage. Footage of Chris Jericho and Jake Hager trying to lay waste to The Rock. Footage of The Rock's one upping, Jericho- a complete summation of their new feud. The Rock's voice narrated over this video footage.

The Rock: (voice over) Perhaps nobody over the years has been the pinnacle of in ring EBWF Success- as much as Chris Jericho. 11 time World Champion- face of the company- lover of oreos.

A behind the scenes look of Chris Jericho eating an oreo in the lobby of the back was shown quickly.

The Rock: (voice over) However, maintaining an inordinate amount of confidence, performing at a consistently high level for such a long time, can take it's toll on someone's psyche. Chris Jericho has made a "forever" run in this company. He has been successful so long, that he has developed a sense of when that success is going to inevitably run out. For Chris- that time- is Summerslam. Because he will have the unenviable task of facing this man.

The Rock: (voice over) Handsome right? So in an effort to not be jaded.. to stay relevant.. and well.. to stay out of the hospital.. Chris Jericho.. enlisted the help.. of an Abercrombie and Bitch bodyguard.. Jake Hager.

The Rock: (voice over) However in the weeks that followed, Chris Jericho learned that even a second pair of hands was not enough to slow down- the jabroni beating, pie eating, trail blazing, eye brow raising.. make your undies damp.. soon to be World Champ...The Rock. He also learned that Hager, and all the kings horses and all the kings men.. couldn't make Jericho.. the same EEEE... EV...EVVVVVVVVERRR.. again. He learned and he started to realize that his time at the top.. was about to be over. Realizing that was something that had already taken place in Jericho's mind.. admitting that.. is not something that anyone was holding their breath on. Chris Jericho is a lot of things.

Flashes of each started to show as The Rock said them.

The Rock: (voice over) A wrestler, a singer, a father, a husband.. a competitive eater.

The last picture was of Jericho with rib sauce on his face looking bloated.

The Rock: (Voice over) One thing above all though, Chris Jericho was proud. Proud to a fault. Too proud to admit that his time was coming to an end as the top dog in the EBWF, and the time of The Rock.. was just beginning. An interesting, intriguing, even complex figure. We decided to talk to some people that really know and care about Chris. We decided to get inside the head of the Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla through those who have adored him for years and years.. his friends and his family.

The scene cut to a nervous looking middle aged man. He wore a fozzy T-Shirt and sat in an empty room. There was a seat right next to the one he inhabited. All of a sudden the door opened, and The Rock walked in wearing a Brahma Bull T-Shirt and black pants. He sat down next to the man.

The Rock: Before we start The Rock- would love for you to say your name to the camera- and your relationship with Chris Jericho.

Stuart: Well my name is Stuar..

The Rock: It DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS..

Stuart looked startled. The Rock comedically got serious again.

The Rock: Sorry reflex- The Rock kids.. it does matter what your name is.. so please tell us.

Stuart: Are you sure?

The Rock nodded facetiously acting like a reporter on 20/20.

Stuart: Well my name is Stuart.

The Rock: Okay Stuart- how do you know Chris Jericho?

Stuart: Well I've worked at Guitar Center for several years- Chris comes in all the time. He gets a new guitar pretty much every month. The two of us have really struck up a friendship.

The Rock: So- you've hung out with Chris- like outside of the store? You guys go and eat.. like poutine.. or hockey pucks.. or whatever Canadians like to eat?

Stuart: Well no- never outside the store.

The Rock nodded.

The Rock: Never outside the store.. So let The Rock ask you this Stuart- why in the blue hell- would you think that you and Chris Jericho were friends?

Stuart: Well again- we talk all the time!

The Rock: So like Chris comes into the store- and he tells you all his problems- or he keeps you updated on his life? He sends pictures to you of his kids and wife- you have their Christmas Card hanging in your office at Guitar Center.. is that what you're telling The Rock?

Stuart: Well no- mostly he just comes in and complains that the guitar I sold him, didn't really work- and seemed really out of tune. I've never had the heart to actually tell him it's because he's.. well he's a pretty lousy guitar player.. and that it was him.. not the instrument's fault.

The Rock flashed his million dollar smile.

The Rock: Complains about the guitar? So instead of telling him the truth.. you just keep giving him new guitars.. because you're too good of a friend to really hurt his feelings.. that's.. well that's admirable.. you must be pretty proud of that.

Stuart started feeling really comfortable thinking that The Rock was complimenting his character.

Stuart: Yeah I mean I guess it means I'm a pretty good friend.

The Rock smiled and shook his head-which made Stuart do the same. Abruptly the Rock stopped smiling and looked extremely serious.

The Rock: Stuart you see, you are part of the problem. Chris Jericho is a major problem in the EBWF.. a MAJOR problem. He's been in the EBWF longer than anybody in the history of the company. He continues to be around day after day, month after month, year after year.. and you know why Stuart? It's because people like YOU refuse to tell him the truth that has come to the fore front. That truth is that no matter what he's accomplished in the past.. all the matches he's won.. the songs he's performed.. the awards.. the titles.. despite all of that.. Chris Jericho now.. Chris Jericho in August 2020.. the truth is.. this Chris Jericho.. present day Chris Jericho.. rock star Chris Jericho.. wrestler Chris Jericho.. anything Chris Jericho.. well.. he absolutely SUCKS.

Stuart went to quickly try and tell his side of the story, but The Rock didn't let him.

The Rock: No, no, no, no, you see Stuart- Chris Jericho in the ring is a shell of who he used to be. Chris Jericho in the ring- is nowhere near the man who has made such a big name for himself. He's proven time and time again that he is now WEAK, he's proven that he's now worried.. and he should be worried.. because at Summerslam he's got to face The People's Champ- and despite all the little reject Huck Finn's in his life telling him how great everything still is.. like you Stuart.. Chris Jericho is about to get a harsh dose of reality from The Rock- at Summerslam- The Rock is going to do something that none of the hanger-on's and yes men that surround Chris Jericho don't the guts to do.. and that is.. be honest with him. The Rock is going to be honest with him. It would have been so easy Stuart for you to say "hey Chris- guitars are fine- it's you who just can't play." Well The Rock says this Sunday at Summerslam- that's exactly.. AND THE ROCK MEANS.. exactly what he's going to say to him.. but The Rock is going to choose NOT to say it to him in words.. no no no NO..The Rock is going to tell him with actions. ROCK BOTTOM.. WHAM.. People's Elbow.. POW.. The Rock walking out EBWF Champion.. "Electrifying" playing over the loud speaker.. literally millions.. going crazy as The Rock celebrates with the EBWF Title.. Chris Jericho looking up at The Rock.. looking up at the lights.. coming to an honest realization.. that it wasn't
the guitars fault.. as to why he lost.. but instead the fact that he simply.. just.. can't.. play.. anymore." Chris you have a lifetime of good memories.. but The Rock says.. you're going to have to be honest with yourself, and settle for the fact that this last memory.. that this last image.. is not going to be a positive one for you. The Rock could just lie to you, like Stuart here..

Stuart: Hey..

The Rock: Shut your mouth jabroni.. The Rock could just lie to you like Stuart here has.. but the truth Chris.. the truth shall set you free. Knowing that you just don't have it anymore, will be liberating for you. It will take the pressure off- and then you can just enjoy the rest of your life.. instead of constantly putting yourself in situations where you have to fail. Like playing guitar.. or.. well quite frankly going up against the likes of The Rock.

There was a pause as Stuart was confused as to what was going to happen next, since this interview really seemed to quickly get away from him. The Rock stared at him for what seemed like an eternity.

The Rock: Get out of The Rocks sight.

Stuart quickly responded.

Stuart: You got it.

Stuart quickly exited the room. The scene cut back to clips of some of Jericho's losses over the years. Looks of anguish on his face as he dropped the title to the likes of Shawn Michaels, AJ Styles, Wes Ikeda, and Sting.

The Rock (Voice Over) : One thing that beats a lot of guys down over the years is self doubt. One bad loss, leads to another, and then another. Chris Jericho's "forever" run has been largely enhanced by those around him, continuing to tell him how good he is- even when he isn't.. or hasn't been. Chris confidence never seems to waiver despite the fact that being an 11 time World Champion- means you've in fact lost the title more than anyone else in the history of the EBWF as well. Chris' confidence was endearing and fun when he was a young talented star.. but the fact that he's now a puffy- moldy old pop tart of a human now.. makes it less enjoyable. Fortunately at Summerslam- The Rock would surely leave an imprint in the brain of Chris Jericho- that it was time to hang up the boots.. something that nobody had been able to do, unfortunately to this point.

The scene cut to a fairly crowded street. A true melting pot of people walked by the camera, a few occasionally looking over to it, curious as to what it was. Finally the camera picked up a girl sitting on a bench. She looked as though she was in her early 30's. She wore a black nike t shirt and white running shorts. The Rock- tapped her on the shoulder- he was wearing a "Team Bring It" tank top and black and white sweatpants. She looked like she was expecting him. She stood up and the two hugged. The Rock sat down on the bench next to her. The camera zoomed in.

The Rock: Britney! How you doing mama!? You look great!

She blushed.

Britney: Thank you so much! You too- as always! I mean wow..

The Rock: Well okay.. easy now..whoa tiger.

She laughed and looked sheepish- as The Rock always had a hilarious way of embarrassing girls who got a little thirsty.

Britney: So I was excited that you called. What's up?

The Rock: Well Britney- as you know- this Sunday at Summerslam- The Rock is going up against Chris Jericho for the EBWF Title at Summerslam.. and sinc..

Britney: Oh yeah I heard thats..

The Rock held his hand up- and calmly spoke.

The Rock: Come on babe- you know better than to interrupt The Rock..

Britney: Oh right sorry..

The Rock smiled as did Britney.

The Rock: No worries. So since The Rock knows that you know Chris really well from your days as a bartender. The Rock is really just trying to figure out- how he's just been able to have this "Forever" run in the EBWF. Despite having.. well no real talent anymore. He's older.. 49 years old.. looks 79. He's fatter.. billed weight about 227 actual weight 337. Yet he's still the champion. People tell their bartenders everything.. what's the secret.. what's Chris' secret? How is he still at the top of this business- that he quite literally is no longer built for.

Britney thought for a second.

Britney: Well I mean- he used to tell me that he would start everyday with a protein shake.. you mean like that?

The Rock processed the comment and then after several uncomfortable seconds, he smiled.. which made Britney nervously smile.

The Rock: Protein Shake.. The Rock called you all the way here.. meet The Rock.. see The Rock.. hug The Rock.. to get some Intel on how Chris Jericho has managed to stay on top of the business. To figure out that despite all of his deficiencies- despite the negative impact that father time has had on him.. despite all of the talent.. new and old that has come in and out of the EBWF.. how he's managed to stay at the top of the mountain. How he's found ways to adapt.. and remain the EBWF Champion despite not having the goods anymore. The Rock figures as his bartender- and friend- that you may have something useful to offer to The Rock- that you might be able to crack the rubix cube- that is Chris Jericho.. and you tell The Rock it's because of a protein shake.. every morning..

Britney: Well I..

The Rock mocked her.

The Rock: Well.. I... why don't you protein shake your ass on out of here Britney..

Britney looked very defeated as she exited the bench.

The scene cut out to more video clips of Jericho and The Rock's voice over again..

The Rock: (Voice Over) Protein Shake or no protein shake. Chris Jericho continues to defy the odds year after year. He is deteriorating physically, perhaps in the worst shape of his career. Yet has found all the right buttons to push to maintain dominance and success. The unfortunate thing for Chris and for all of those that love and adore him.. is that The Rock is not going to swept up in the mystique that is Chris Jericho. The Rock feels as though many people psych themselves out before going into matches with him, and that gives him this unspoken advantage. Well quite simply, Chris Jericho, you don't have The Rock fooled. From day one, since The Rock won King of the Ring he has been laser focused on exposing the outright fact that so many people don't seem to realize.. and that is quite simply.. you're just.. not all that good anymore. Chris Jericho is a name that has demanded respect and admiration, because of the accolades attached to it.. but The Rock looks at you now, and he doesn't see a man that deserves to be respected. The Rock looks at you now Chris Jericho, a sheepish man, a man who hides behind a much bigger man who doesn't have 3 brain cells to rub together. The Rock looks at you now Chris Jericho.. and he sees a coward.. he sees a man that isn't in serious need of respect.. but instead a man that is in serious need of the ass kicking of a lifetime.. and that is exactly what he's going to get at the biggest party of the Summer. Chris Jericho quite simply.. FOREVER.. is NOT as long as it used to be. See you Sunday Champ.

The scene reopened during the pre-show of EBWF Summerslam in Los Angeles, California. A match had just concluded, and all of a sudden the fans became unglued with the hearing of one simple phrase.

"IF YAAAAAAA SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL- WHAT THE ROCK- IS COOKIN'"

"Electrifying" by Jim Johnston hit as the fans were going absolutely insane. The Rock made his way down to the ring already in his ring trunks and boots. He wore a "Just Bring It" shirt and he looked like he was a man on a mission, which in so many ways.. he was. He climbed into the ring and demanded a microphone. He had a bounce to his step fueled by straight adrenaline. A "Rocky" chant broke out from the crowd- when it finally died down- The Rock began.

The Rock: FINALLY... THE ROCK.. has come back.. to LOS ANGELESSSSSSSS

The crowd popped.

The Rock: You see Summerslam Sunday- it's finally here- The Rock for the last month- has been counting down the hours.. counting down the days. X'ing days off the calendar.. hell The Rock even reactivated his MySpace page just so he could put a countdown on it- and watch it tick town- the title of that countdown- "Time Left Until Chris Jericho Gets His Monkey Ass Whooped!"

More loud cheers- The Rock was pacing.

The Rock: Now we are less than 2 hours away from the time where you'll have The Rock- the challenger- in one corner- and Chris Jericho- the current champion.. in the other. The back and forth.. the one upsmanship.. the tit for tat.. will be over.. the time for talking.. the time for head games.. over.. the moment of truth.. HERE. Icarus was stubborn.. he liked the feeling of flying.. of being above the rest of the world.. so much that he did not heed the warning of his father. Icarus proceeded to disobey his father's advice.. and flew too close to the sun.. and what happened? Well you guessed it.. Icarus wings burned in the heat of the sun.. and he plummeted to his final downfall.
