Let's Try Again.

Evan Bourne was coming off of a disappointing loss at Warfare against Drew McIntyre. So all the positive energy he had two weeks ago when he won his debut match at the King of the Ring pay per view was all but vanquished now. However he had a shot at redemption this week as he was going up against the Sinister Scotsman yet again, however this time there was a huge reward at stake. Number one contender status for the Breakout Title for whoever could climb up the ladder and retrieve the contract, now this was the big break Evan was waiting for throughout his wrestling career, sure he didn’t expect anything to be handed to him on a silver platter but this was his big moment, his time to shine and prove all his naysayers wrong, the people that told him that he was too small to compete for a title and that he would always be the whipping boy and would always come close but would never accomplish his goal of being a singles champion in a major wrestling company. It was safe to say that he relished the roll of the underdog as it suited him very well. EBWF was running a house show to hype up the upcoming Warfare event that was scheduled to take place in a few days, the fans were still buzzing about the previous match the had just witnessed as a majority of them were still on their feet, anxiously anticipating what else was planned for the show. There was a ladder set up in the middle of the ring with a spotlight on it, as a few moments later “Born to Win” by Mutiny Within plays over the P.A. system a few moments later Evan Bourne makes his way out from through the curtains with an ear to ear smile expressed on his face. He stood atop of the stage area and stuck out his index and middle finger in a “peace” sign as the crowd continued to cheer him on. He makes his way down the entrance ramp slapping fives with various members of the audience in the front row before sliding underneath the bottom rope and entering the ring as he climbs up the near turnbuckle and poses for the audience once more putting up his index and middle finger as the crowd continued to cheer him on. He then makes his way down onto the canvas as he takes in the atmosphere of the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nodding his head in approval of what he was witnessing as he picks up the microphone that was located in the far right corner and proceeds to speak.

Evan Bourne
It’s great being here in Oklahoma City. This city will hold a special place in my heart as it will be the place where my career gets sky rocketed into new heights when I climb the ladder and retrieve the contract for the right to be the number one contender for the Breakout Title. Now I know my match against Drew McIntyre last week didn’t go the way I wanted to as I ended up losing the match despite having a respectable showing but I’m certainly not going to disappoint this week, as I am in a match where I am going to thrive in the atmosphere that I’m in. A match where anything goes and a match that involves a ladder just like the ladder you see here.

He pauses for a brief moment as he faces the ladder and runs his hand over a few of the steps keeping his hand on one of the steps and facing the audience.

Evan Bourne
The possibilities are endless on what I can do from this ladder; I could use it as a weapon, perform a high flying move from atop of it or most importantly climb up these steps and retrieve the contract hanging high above the ring.

The fans proceed to cheer hearing what he had just said as he takes a stroll around the ladder before speaking yet again.

Evan Bourne
I'm looking at the steps on this ladder and to me each step represents all the obstacles and challenges I've had to overcome throughout my wrestling career. For years I’ve had to play second fiddle and in many people’s mind been held back in the previous wrestling companies I’ve competed in, now I’m finally getting a chance to showcase my true potential and show what I can bring to the wrestling circuit. I’m not making any excuses though. I’ve got an opportunity tonight to propel my career to new heights, and I’m certainly going to give it my all, not just for myself, but for each and every one of the audience watching the match. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today so thank you.

The fans continue to cheer him on as Evan proceeds to carefully climb up the ladder, sitting at the very top of it as he looked out at the members of the audience from high above. He then looks straight up above him where in just a couple of days a contract would be dangling at the very spot for both himself and Drew McIntyre to fight over.

Evan Bourne
Drew is probably going to be heading into our match with a lot of confidence, and as he should as he managed to defeat me in Singles competition last week, but this match is a whole different environment. Anything goes and I know for a fact that Drew is going to do everything in his power to get a hold of a weapon of any kind and begin utilizing it on me. Now you all may find this hard to believe, but I’m looking forward to getting my hand on a foreign object…something like a steel chair and whacking it across Drew’s skull as it’s not often that I get put in a match where anything and everything is encouraged so I will take full advantage of the match type and capitalize on every opportunity I get to inflict pain and to put Drew on notice that any momentum he may have had from last week will all but be gone once the bell rings and our ladder match starts. Once the dust settles and the final bell rings I will be in the exact same position, sitting atop of the ladder the victor of the match and the number one contender for the Breakout championship.

With that being said Evan concludes his statement as his theme songs begins to play over the PA system as he sticks out his index and middle finger yet again with the crowd still cheering him on as the scene fades to black.
