Fire Extinguisher

Post by Nick »

The doors of the Smoothie King Center swing open. With the sun shining so brightly, the camera is blinded momentarily. However, the sounds of (presumably) expensive shoes clicking and (also presumably) luxury luggage rolling along the hard floor were heard. When the focus readjusted, the camera was behind the figure that just entered the building. Whoever it was, they were in a hurry. Although, if the blonde hair that was flowing behind them her was not enough of a giveaway, Renee Young surely ruined whatever anonymity they she had left.

RENEE YOUNG
“Mandy! Please, can I at least get a statement?”

Renee was doing her best to keep up with Mandy, who had sped up upon hearing her name being called out. Eventually the interviewer was able to cut the former Women’s Champion off and stop her in her tracks.

RENEE YOUNG
“Mandy? That is you, isn’t it?”

MANDY ROSE
“No.”

Following the blatant lie, Mandy, with her eyes shielded by sunglasses, brushed past Renee without hesitation. But it was not enough to lose her as Renee stayed on Mandy’s heels.

RENEE YOUNG
“I understand why you may not want to talk, but the EBWF Universe is dying to hear what you have to say following what transpired at the Royal Rumble.”

MANDY ROSE
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

RENEE YOUNG
“I’m talking about your loss of the EBWF Women’s Championship to Liv—”

That is when the chase ended and Mandy halted on her own accord. The Golden Goddess (yes, that nickname still applies) turned to face Renee and removed the shades from her face. If looks could kill, Renee would have been no more at that very moment.

MANDY ROSE
“Don’t you dare speak that name in my vicinity. Not now…not ever. ”

Feebly, Renee nodded as Mandy barked in her direction.

MANDY ROSE
“I am not to be reminded of the robbery that took place at the Royal Rumble. I’ve been suffering from PTSD enough as it is ever since! Are you trying to trigger me into an anxiety attack, Renee? ARE YOU?!

RENEE YOUNG
“What? No! Not at all. I’m just—”

MANDY ROSE
“You’re just what, Renee? Oh, wait…let me guess. You’re just trying to do your job, aren’t you?”

RENEE YOUNG
“Well, yes. That’s exactly what I’m doing.”

MANDY ROSE
“Uh huh, of course. You journalists are all the same…glorified paparazzi. You’re invasive, patronizing, lowlifes. Let me tell you something, Tomi Lahren, nobody gives a *CENSORED* about your job!”

By now, Mandy had attracted a crowd. Renee was mortified after being shouted at, but it did not stop there.

MANDY ROSE
“And nobody gives a *censored* about the Women’s Champion either. The only thing anybody gives a *censored* about around here, is me. I mean…look! Look around!”

Mandy gestured towards all the bystanders that were watching the heated interaction from afar.

MANDY ROSE
“Let’s get this straight…I may not have my Women’s Championship right now, but I will get it back. There is no way this company will allow its women’s division to be represented by a cheap pizza eating, burnt clip-in wearing, high school dropout when someone like me is still walking around. I am historic! I’m the greatest Women’s Champion in EBWF history! Hell, I’m the greatest competitor in EBWF history! I’m the hottest competitor in EBWF history too! ME! Not Liv Morgan, ME!

She was able to take a deep breath after that outburst. With radio silence on Renee’s end, Mandy started to walk off. As soon as she turned around, however, Renee finally chimed in.

RENEE YOUNG
“I…I guess you don’t have anything to say about your opponent tonight, Becky Lynch, then?”

Although her back was turned, it was easy to tell how Mandy felt about being spoken to yet again. She turned around one final time, shaking her head.

MANDY ROSE
“As a matter of fact, Renee, I do. Tonight, Becky Lynch’s fried follicles aren’t going to be the only thing burned to a crisp; because I’m going to extinguish EBWF career before it even catches on.”

With a scowl across her beautiful face, Mandy was able to finally get away from Renee. The crowd of people stood still as the Golden Goddess stormed her way through the arena.
