The King vs. The Jester
The King vs. The Jester
-The scene opens up to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri where Warfare is set to take place in a few hours. It is an action packed card with eight second round King of the Ring tournament matches set to take place. We pan to the back where we see Seth Rollins arriving to the building by himself. He's got his wrestling attire on and a 'Monday Night Rollins' shirt on. As he walks into the locker room he see's Paige sitting on the couch, still in her pajamas, and eating ice cream as she watches soap operas.-
Seth Rollins: There you are. What are you doing?
Paige: Drowning out my problems with ice cream...
Seth: Have you been here all day? I've been calling you...
Paige: I've been ignoring you...
Seth: Why? What did I do?
Paige: Nothing...
Seth: Then what's the deal?
Paige: It's more about what I did...or didn't do...
Seth: Are you talking about last week still?
Paige: Maybe...
Seth: How many times do I have to tell you that you did great?
Paige: Great? I lost...I was shit...
Seth: You weren't shit and you know it. You just got unlucky. That's all.
Paige: How so?
Seth: You went up against the best female in the tournament in the first round. You just plain got unlucky. There's nothing to be ashamed of. You went out there and gave it your all and gave Velvet a run for her money. I know you didn't get the win but that doesn't mean you didn't do great.
Paige: If I did great then I would be in the second round. But I'm not...
Seth: You're right. You're not. The real question is what are you going to do about it? Are you going to sit here and get fat off ice cream while you watch some bullshit show or are you going to get back in the gym and work harder?
Paige: This ice cream is pretty good...
-Seth walks over and grabs the ice cream out of her hand and takes it and throws it in the trash.-
Paige: Did you just throw my ice cream away? Didn't anyone teach you not to mess with a woman and her ice cream?
Seth: Well you're acting like a child right now, not a woman. And yes I did throw away your ice cream. I'm about to walk out here and give this promo real quick and then you and me are going to the gym to get a workout in.
Paige: But you have a match tonight...
Seth: That doesn't matter. I'll be back in a few minute and you better be changed and ready to go.
-Seth puts his bag down and grabs his Breakout Title out of it and slings it over his right shoulder before walking out of the locker room where there is a camera crew waiting. Seth walks back and forth for a second before looking straight into the camera.-
Seth Rollins: Another week. Another Monday Night Rollins. This one is going to be a doozy as well. We're talking about eight second round matches for the King of the Ring Tournament. After this week we are really going to have a good look at how this tournament is going to shake out. Honestly, most people would've loved to be in my spot for this tournament. I had a relatively easy first round. I might as well have a bye for a second round considering I'm going against the worst villain in the history of the world. Personally though I'd rather go through the best every single week. I'd rather be the guy who beats all the big shots. That's just the type of person I am. I'd rather beat them then get the easy way out. But life isn't always fair. Especially if you're Marty Scurll. Poor bastard made it this far into the tournament and then has to go up against Seth Rollins? That's getting the short end of the stick if you ask me.
I almost feel bad for the guy. That is until I realize that I don't give a damn about ANY of these wrestlers. They're all in my way and I will beat every single one of them if I have to. There isn't a person on this roster that's going to keep me from being the 2018 King of the Ring. But before I get to that there was a pretty big match last week that involved myself even though I wasn't in the match. Last weeks main event was the night we finally found out who the number one contender for my belt was. They decided to just give it to Aiden English. Now I'll elaborate on that more in the future but I just want him to know that match was nothing compared to what's coming. As far as I'm concerned that match was a joke. They wanted to push Aiden so they pushed him. There was no need for that match. That number one contendership was given away instead of earned. Enjoy being the number one contender while you can Aiden. Because as soon as you step in the ring with me for this...
-Seth holds up the Breakout Title for a few seconds before putting it back over his shoulder.-
Seth: Your streak will be over. I'm not like these fools you've been beating. I'm definitely not like the jokes you had to face off against to become the number one contender. I'm a whole different animal. I hope you don't underestimate me because you're going to be in for a rude awakening. I want you to know one thing though. This belt isn't going ANYWHERE. Not until I'm ready to let go of it and that's not going to be anytime soon. I will go down as the BEST Breakout Champion this company has ever seen. And then, and only then, will I let go of this belt.
But before we get that far we've got more important things to deal with and that's the second round matches for the King of the Ring Tournament. There's a lot of good matches on tonights show. A lot of matches that could go either way. And then there's my match. Against none other than the worst villain in the history of the world. What's the deal Marty? I know that in the end the villain is always supposed to lose. That's just how life goes. In the movies, comics, video games, and even in real life. The villain always takes an L at the end. Everyone knows that. But you...you're taking L's every single week. You weren't good enough last week to become the number one contender for my belt. You weren't good enough last time we faced to even give me a close matchup.
The truth is that you just aren't good enough to beat me. Even on your best day and my worst day I'm still going to come out on top. This match is as close to a second round bye as you can get and I hate it. I want to beat the best this company has to offer to EARN what's mine. I feel like this is more of a warm up then it is a match. I know that after we're done I'm going to have to hit the gym and get a REAL workout in. But don't think that means I'm going to take it easy on you. Quite the contrary. I'm going to give you the beating of your lifetime. Why? Well for one because I can. Secondly because I have to make a statement to the rest of the people in this tournament that Seth Rollins isn't to be messed with. And lastly because of what you had to say the last time I beat you.
Don't remember that? I do. I remember EVERYTHING. There isn't a thing that's said or done around here that I don't remember. You claimed that after losing to me you hit rock bottom. Word? That was rock bottom for you? It wasn't the many losses you took before that? You know that shit drove me nuts. I couldn't believe that you, of all people, would have the balls to put my name down like that. And for that I'm going to teach you a lesson tonight. I know you want this to be the Villain vs. The King, but it's not even like that. Tonight we're going to have the Jester vs. The King because as far as I'm concerned you're nothing but a joke...
-Seth stares into the camera before walking back into his locker room as the scene fades to black.-
