Marty Scurll sits alone in a dark room. His head is down and he’s covered in sweat. He has just finished a workout. As the camera approaches we see he is shirtless and wearing basketball shorts. He slowly stands up and looks into the camera.

Scurll: For weeks Legion has run rampant over the EBWF. It started when they took out Jimmy Havoc. It was 3 on 1 and Jimmy put up a good effort but he had no chance. For the first time in my life I felt bad for Jimmy Havoc. A man I despised. For months me and Jim went back and forth on twitter or in promos. When we finally faced off, he won. I knew in that moment that Jimmy Havoc was the real fucking deal. So when I saw him get brutality torn apart by Legion it made me uneasy. I was ready to fight if need be, but he had The Miz and Aiden English. So I watched. I watched my former friend Hangman Page betray everything I thought he stood for when he joined Legion. I saw the legend of NJPW Okada join. I saw the sick bastard Mikey Whiplash join. So I decided to stop watching and fight.

Marty picks up an old Party Marty t shirt and slowly puts it on.

Scurll: I called out Tommy End. I wanted Legion and boy did I get it. I was seconds from victory, I saw everything I had worked for come to fruition. It’s coming up on a year since I joined here and I’ll admit I don’t have much to show for it. No championships and no big wins. Beating Tommy End was my path to the top. And then, it was all ripped away from me.

Marty looks down and shakes his head.

Scurll: But I didn’t revert to old habits. The old Marty Scurll would’ve punched Jimmy Havoc in the face, and I’ll admit I did think about it. But in that moment when we were shaking hands it all clicked for me. The EBWF is my home. Not ROH, or NJPW, and definitely not Vince’s company. At Fanniversary I’m not fighting for myself, I’m fighting for the EBWF. And I want Legion.

The screen fades to black.
