The shot opened with Raquel Diaz standing behind a podium on a stage with a handful of chairs. There was a mixed crowd assembled before her. Raquel was wearing a tight baby blue dress with a bright white belt around her waist. She smiled at the gathered crowd as she stepped forward to the podium.

Raquel Diaz: If this stage looks familiar to anyone here or anyone watching at home, it’s because this is the same stage that was used to announce my entry into the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble! A historic announcement that lead to a historic moment in my professional wrestling career. After standing on this stage and announcing I would compete in that match, I outlasted every other woman in that ring to become the EBWF Women’s Champion. I was the first one in the ring and the last one to leave it. An accomplishment that can’t be taken away from me, even if the Women’s Title was. After losing to Zahra at Wrestlemania I took some time off to clear my head and make sure I was in this ring for the right reason. That I wasn’t going to sully my family name. Because the Guerreros, we are LUCHA! I can’t sit backstage and watch from the sidelines any longer. It’s clear that the other women in this company are willing to let the entire division slide into non-existence!

Raquel held her hand up to the podium to calm herself and took a step back. She shook her head at the crowd and smiled.

Raquel Diaz: It’s not time for that just yet. First I need to introduce someone to you. A very important person in this year’s King of the Ring tournament. Ladies and gentlemen… Hang on, hang on. In recent weeks I’ve learned something about family. Sometimes the one you’re born with isn’t the one that’s best for you. No, FAMILIA isn’t about blood or birth. It’s about the people you choose to make your family! This man I’m about to bring out IS family! The man I’m about to bring out is a multi time champion in the EBWF! He is a legendary wrestler from the Windy City! He is…

“Moments” by Sevendust started to play. The crowd groaned at the build up just to introduce Raquel’s husband. Aiden stepped in from beside the stage wearing white denim pants and vest with red six pointed stars and light blue stripes. Aiden walked out to the podium with a huge smile on his face. He kissed Raquel and adjusted the microphone to fit his height better. Still he had to hunch over slightly to speak into the mic.

Aiden English: Raquel Diaz is the best female competitor I have EVER laid eyes on. In fact, this woman is so amazing that I have a hard time taking my eyes off of her! She coined a phrase on this stage that’s more true than it has ever been. The two of us are the FIRST FAMILY of wrestling! We went into the Royal Rumble as number one and number one. We walked out victorious, BOTH OF US! We made history by becoming the first married couple to win their respective Royal Rumbles in the same year. We made history by being the first couple to go from one to win in the same night! History! We invited Chavo into our Family because of his history with Raquel. Because her father trusted him and she trusted him. Sadly, he’s lost his way and succumbed to the darkness festering in EBWF. He abandoned the Family. Sadly, there’s little I can do to save him now. He’s gone to the darkness. Instead the First Family of wrestling has to move on and find new family to join our ranks.

Aiden put his arm around Raquel and pulled her close to him. He whispered something in her ear that brought a wicked smile to her face. She stepped forward and pulled the microphone down.

Raquel Diaz: We’re glad to welcome a new member of the First Family to the stage at this time! Another Second City Son, another multi-time champion, a former King of the Ring and wrestler of the year! Give a big round of applause for CM PUNK!!!

“Cult of Personality” by Living Colour started to play and the assembled crowd came to their feet with cheers. Punk stepped onto the stage in a pair of blue jeans and a black hoodie. He walked up next to Aiden and Raquel with his attention on the crowd. He shook hands with Aiden and hugged Raquel before turning to face the mic and the crowd.

CM Punk: When you got invited to an English and Diaz press event, I bet none of you thought to yourselves that you would see me here. Usually before a one off performance I spend hours and hours in the gym to prepare. I have to get myself back into fighting shape to keep up with all of the young kids who enter the company every year. Hell, before I threw my hat into the Royal Rumble, my last appearance was to announce this guy as a champion before his big celebration event. Watching the finish of that match from backstage and seeing a fellow Chicago native win felt nearly as great as winning the match myself. Nearly. Something was missing from that joy. After the show I jumped in the car with them and rode to the airport where we all caught a flight back to Chi-town. The three of us had a long trip to talk about the future of EBWF, wrestling and my career..

The crowd started to get a bit loud and Raquel stepped up and put her hand on the mic to stop Punk. She tapped the microphone with three loud pops that caught the attention of everyone.

Raquel Diaz: EXCUSE ME! We’re in the middle of a press event. If you would kindly settle down we’d be happy to continue. Or, you can go on being rude and the three of us will leave and all of you can learn what we have planned when everyone else does on Warfare!

The crowd fell silent.

Raquel Diaz: Thank you! Please, Punk, continue with your story!

CM Punk: We were on the plane ride home talking about the business and we came to a conclusion. EBWF is in the gutter! Something needed to be done. Someone needed to clean up the EBWF! Clearly there are very few choices to do such heavy lifting. After taking some time off to think it over, I got in contact with Raquel and Wes Ikeda. The two of them had a meeting to negotiate a new EBWF contract for me to return to regular in ring action! That all begins this week when I take on Edge and Hardcore Holly in the first round of the two thousand and nineteen King of the Ring tournament!

All three wrestlers took a step back as the crowd cheered loudly. Aiden whispered in Raquel’s ear again and she nodded along to each word. She stepped forward and took ahold of the mic. The crowd settled at the sight of her angry face.

Raquel Diaz: We choose our family and Punk is a part of the First Family of wrestling. He brings with him a wealth of history and knowledge about the business, the company and the superstars in the locker room. With his wisdom and vision the First Family of wrestling is going to DOMINATE EBWF! I’d like to open the floor up to questions for CM Punk about his return to active in ring action! Aiden?

Aiden clicked a microphone on from behind the podium and walked out into the small crowd gathered in front of the stage. He loomed over a fan and held the mic down in his face. Aiden’s expression was emotionless.

Fan 1: Why choose King of the Ring to come back? Why not come back at Wrestlemania? Or earlier?

Punk chuckled into the mic.

CM Punk: You must be mistaking me for someone who is coming back for the glory. I don’t need to have my Mania moment! I’m a six time EBWF World Champion! I’ve done everything there is to do. Including win a King of the Ring. I picked the King of the Ring because it gives me the chance to face more opponents in a short amount of time. It gives me a chance to prove that I haven’t lost a step! That all starts Monday!

Aiden pulled the mic away and walked to another area. A female fan latched onto Aiden’s arm to pull the mic closer. Raquel visibly tensed up at another woman putting her hands on Aiden.

Fan 2: You’re first official match back is against Edge and the current EBWF Breakout Champion, Hardcore Holly, what do you think about the two of them?

CM Punk: Is Orton going to come out and get in Edge’s corner?

Raquel shook her head at Punk and pointed toward her husband.

CM Punk: Oh, that’s right I’m not doing this on my own! I don’t need to worry about Orton popping up to make sure Edge wins a match once in a while. Which means, I don’t really have to worry about Edge now do I? Guy has needed some time off for a long time. Time to go home, lick his wounds. Maybe time to fall in love with the sport again. I needed that once too. Nothing wrong with it. As long as you notice that you need it before it starts to show in the ring. Edge, pal, it’s starting to show in the ring. Seriously pal. When I eliminate you from the tournament, take the rest of the season off. Get back to basics, take a nap. Spend some time with your family.

Fan 2: And Holly?

Aiden tugged the mic away and laughed. He started back toward the stage.

Aiden English: Do you mind? I have a lot to say about Hardcore Holly.

CM Punk: No brother, be my guest.

Aiden English: Holly is a joke of a wrestler! He’s been a joke since the day he stepped foot into the company and he continues to make a laughing stock of everyone associated with him. He’s a plague on this industry and this company. He needs to be eradicated like the cockroach he is! In this tournament my pal Punk gets to be the exterminator who does just that.

Aiden pated Punk on the shoulder and let out a slight smile.

CM Punk: Aiden has given me the spark notes on how to handle a wrestler like Holly. He loaned me a pair of ear plugs to make it through his incessant talking. He’s even given me the notes on everything he’s going to say in the lead up to this match. Written down a list of moves Holly is going to attempt to hit in the match. Aiden has shown me all the ways he’s beaten Hardcore since the first clash between the two of them. I’ve seen more Hardcore Holly matches than any man should ever have to. And, I feel sorry for the EBWF Universe that they’ve had to sit through all of these same matches.

Aiden started back out into the crowd after Raquel tapped him on the shoulder.

CM Punk: Monday on Warfare, the thing you need to remember is that I’ve done this before. I’ve been King of the Ring. I know what it takes to make it to the finals and win! Neither of these men have ever accomplished that! WHEN MONDAY COMES, IT’S CLOBBERIN’ TIME!

Aiden put the mic in front of another fan. The fan pushed his glasses up and sat forward a bit.

Fan 3: I’d actually like to hear about Raquel’s match against Torrie Wilson. Care to tell us how you’re planning on dealing with her?

Punk stepped to the side and motioned Raquel forward with a nod.

Raquel Diaz: Okay but this is going to be the last question! We don’t have all day to devote to this thing si vas a hacer las mismas preguntas Renee hace. I have to deal with Young enough as it is, I don’t need a whole crowd of her. This is a rather simple question to answer as it where. When I stood on this stage to tell you about my entry into the Royal Rumble I made some promises. I promised I would make Mickie James PAY for humiliating my mother several years prior. Then I delivered on that promise by personally eliminating her from the Women’s Rumble! Oh Mickie, WHO’S LAUGHING NOW? On that stage, I promised that I would prove Zelina Vega was only masquerading as Royalty in the EBWF. That she was a disgrace to her people. I promised to expose her and I DELIVERED on that promise by throwing her back first over the top rope to the floor below! I promised that I would be a part of wrestlings First Family by coming in at Number one in the match and leaving as number one in the Women’s Division. I did exactly what I promised I would do! This time, I get to focus my efforts one on one against one of the most decorated women to ever climb in the ring! She may be past her prime but beating Torrie Wilson is going to prove that I am deserving of Queen of the Ring! Beating Torrie Wilson is going to reinforce that I am a threat to be feared! This match is the first step on MY journey back to the top. This match is my first step on my way to becoming a TWO TIME EBWF WOMEN’S CHAMPION! I will beat Torrie Wilson this Monday on Warfare! I will advance to the finals! I will beat my opponent to become Queen of the Ring and then I will take the fight to Zahra Schreiber!

The small crowd cheered.

Raquel Diaz: I PROMISE that I’m going to beat Torrie Wilson and when I make a promise, I follow through on that promise! I will follow through on this promise!

Aiden had walked back up to the stage and to Raquel’s surprise he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her away from the podium. She gasped. He lifted her up off the ground and took several steps back, both of them laughing. Punk stepped forward and squared up with the microphone.

CM Punk: We are the FIRST FAMILY of wrestling. Monday starts the reign of a new regime! Get used to seeing us around!

Punk pushed the microphone and turned to walk off. Aiden had rolled Raquel up onto his shoulder and he carried her after Punk. She playfully thrashed against his back. The crowd murmured as the shot remained active for several seconds before ending.
