Intensions

The scene opens up to Becky Lynch sitting on the back deck of her home. She is enjoying the fresh air of the early morning. There has been a lot going on in her life lately, especially with her dad’s accident and all. Luckily dad wasn't seriously injured. He has a long road to recovery however. Lynch lays back in her lounge chair, and closes her eyes, time to relax a bit. She slowly falls asleep.

Becky is awakened by her phone ringing.

Becky: “Hello?” (In a groggy voice.)

Raine:(Lynch’s best friend) “Hey Becky! What are you up to?”

Lynch: “How the hell are you so chipper this early in the morning? I’m just at home relaxing, why?”

Raine: “I was wondering if you wanted to get together for lunch.”

Becky: “Yeah, I have some free time this afternoon, around 1 pm.”

Raine: “Great, meet me at Mancino’s.”

Lynch: “Alright, see you then, bye.”

Raine: “Okay.”

Becky hangs up the phone and gets up out of the chair, she walks to the edge of the deck and looks out at the water below. It will be nice to see Raine today, the two haven’t seen each other in a few weeks, Becky has been so busy on the road lately. Lynch walks into her house and closes the door behind her. She walks through the kitchen and into her bedroom to change. After a few minutes she exits the room wearing blue leggings with a matching blue shirt, and running shoes. Becky looks at the clock, 11am, she has time for a short workout before lunch. She heads for the door grabbing her keys before exiting her house closing the door behind her.

Lynch works out for about an hour, before returning home from the gym. She goes straight to the shower, After about 30 minutes Becky exits the bathroom, she is now wearing blue jeans, black t-shirt and black boots. She grabs her keys and again heads for the door to meet Raine for lunch.

Scene fades to black.

The scene opens up to Becky sitting in her locker room. She is wearing black jeans, black t-shirt with the words “the man” written in blue across the front, and black boots. In about 5 minutes she is due in the ring to cut a promo, and she still has no idea of what to say. Normally The Man is not at a loss for words, actually Lynch prides herself on making her opinion, and intentions well known, but today she is unsure of what to say. Becky’s opponent this week is not like the ones of the past. Zahara is in a league of her own. There is a knock at the door, Lynch opens the door, one of the staff tell her it is time for her to enter the ring. Becky walks out of the locker room and waits at the curtain for her music to hit. Once the music hits, Becky exits the curtain and heads for the ring. Once inside the ring, she gets a mic from the timekeeper. Once the crowd calms down Becky begins to speak.

The Man: “Well, I have made quite a name for myself so far here in EBWF!!”

Crowd cheers.

Becky: I have had two matches, and won them both! Now that says something. I made up my mind that I would not let being new here hold me back. I came out fighting and keep winning. Now I know that Zarah is not like any other competitor. She is a well decorated athlete, but that means nothing.”

Crowd noise.

Lynch” I am called The Man for a reason, because I have done things that no other female athlete has been able to do. I don’t back down from a fight, come out swinging, and win. I will not allow myself to begin losing fights. My opponent might be tough, but I am tougher. If there is one thing that everyone knows about me, what you see is what you get, I am not mysterious, I tell you to your face that I’m going to kick your ass!!”

Crowd cheers.

The Man: “So Zarah, I’m out here to tell you, this week on Warfare, I’m going to kick your ass all over this ring. I don’t go into a fight with the intention of losing. All I know how to do is win. I have made a career out of having the deck stacked against me, and I always find a way to come out on top. I will win this fight just like the two before. Zarah, you will find out just like the two before you The reason that I am The Man!!”

Lynch drops the mic and exits the ring.

Scene fades to black.
