OOC: Well I know I have another whole day, but wanted to post this now. I figure if it's done why not share it with the world :) I hope you guys enjoy this and feedback as always is welcome. Also, I just want to say good luck to everyone on the WM card, but a special good luck to my buddy Will. Will's my best bud here in the fed, and I can honestly say I wouldn't want to be going against anybody but him. May the best man win! - DJ
7 months ago Mike Mizanin was released from the EBWF, wished the best in his future endeavors, and handed his pink slip. 2 weeks later he was brought back, picked back up by the company that had sent him packing, he was given a second chance. It was a move by the EBWF higher ups, that few thought would shake the federation, the way it has. This is because Mike took the metaphorical ball that he was given back, by the same men that spurned him, and he ran with it, and he ran with it, and he ran with it some more. Mike Mizanin's star has risen higher and has shined brighter than many doubters and nay-sayer's would have ever thought possible. Entering his third month as the EBWF World Heavyweight Champion "The Miz" as he was known to the world would be defending the richest prize in the game at Wrestlemania XI, against a man whom he knew extremely well. It was a man who he had aligned himself with over the past few months in a stable that rocked professional wrestling to its very core, The Trilogy. AJ Styles was more than an opponent, he was a friend, key word there, WAS. Mike and AJ had grown tighter than most brothers, during their run of dominance, alongside third member Ted DiBiase, but after Allen's victory at the Royal Rumble, and some creative differences the two began to drift apart both on and off screen. The straw that broke the camels back was when rumors began to fly about Mike becoming romantically involved with Allen's ex Layla. When the rumors were confirmed to be true and the two brought their off screen relationship into the public eye and to EBWF programming, all bets were off, Allen felt betrayed, and Mike didn't seem to care all that much. He was on top of the business, falling in love, and feeling untouchable. It was clear that the persona of The Miz, was slowly but surely creeping into and taking over the body of Mike Mizanin. It was hard for him not to feel good about things, and as many say, those who are the happiest, come off the most smug and arrogant. The ups and downs of the business are recognized by few men, more than Mike Mizanin, he's lived them. However, his career was on the upswing and he was going to enjoy every single second of it, and if feelings got hurt, and friendships were bruised along the way, so be it.
The scene opened up in a house that we had seen many times before. It was the home of Mike Mizanin in Los Angeles, California. We were in the living room, and the TV was on, but the camera was behind the set and focused in on the couch. There sat Layla El, she wore short jean shorts and a white tank top. Her hair was in a side ponytail and she had her bare feet on Mike's white couch, and her hands clapsed together holding her legs. She seemed very content, and entertained by whatever program she was watching. Seconds later Mike walked into the room. He wore a black V Neck t shirt and black fitted jeans, he also donned his glasses that he often wore off screen. He had a big bowl of popcorn in his hands as he made his way towards the couch. Layla sensed his presence and a warm smile came to her face, she turned to look at him just as he was putting the popcorn on the coffee table and sitting down next to her. Though these two had been only dating a short time, you could see how comfortable they were together already. He put his arm around her and gave her a kiss on the cheek, she buried herself on his chest and snuggled up to make herself as comfortable as possible.
Layla El: Missed you.
Mike smiled, there was something about this girl that just drove him crazy, in the best way. As much as he tried to fight it, his overwhelming feelings for her were going to surface. His inevitable feud with Allen Jones on screen, just made their relationship even more convenient for both business and pleasure. As far as Mike and Allen's on and off screen friendship, well that was a different story entirely.
Mike Mizanin: What are we watching?
Layla El: Teen Mom.
Mike Mizanin: Why am I not surprised?
She playfully slapped him on the chest.
Layla El: STOP don't be mean, I love this show, and you love m..
She stopped herself, Mike looked down at her, and smiled, he knew what words almost came out of her mouth. It was a response Layla instinctively would have made with someone she was in a long term relationship with. The feelings she had for Mike, were developing faster than she would have ever imagined, and it sometimes made for moments like this.
Mike Mizanin: And you love m.. too!
He purposely did not finish the word "me" just as she did. Mike said this not because he was naive enough to think the two were in love after a few weeks, but to let her know that her near Freudian slip did not freak him out, or make him uncomfortable in any way.
Layla El: Yes I d..
She smiled not completing the word "do." It was symbolic of the fact that they both felt the same thing. A relationship that was heading in the direction of these sentences one day being completed. It was new and exciting, and they both seemed to care little in this moment, about anything else besides the happiness that they were both experiencing when they were together.
Mike Mizanin: Teen mom it is.
He grabbed some popcorn and popped it into his mouth and shifted his body down on the couch to make himself comfortable. The camera zoomed out to black, leaving the lasting image of a very happy and cozy couple, enjoying the phenomenon that was Teen Mom.
The scene reopened at Lambert- St. Louis International Airport. A gate door was opening, and Mike and Layla were spotted right away by cameras, as they were two of the first people off the plane and stepping foot on St. Louis ground, ready to get Wrestlemania week started. Mike wore an all gray suit with a white undershirt and gray tie. Layla wore a pair of blue jeans and a very fancy looking red blouse. The camera got close enough that we were able to pick up a conversation that was already in progress.
Layla El: I mean I do kind of feel sorry for him, the first he heard or suspected anything was on live television. We probably could have handled it better, and when I say we, I mean you.
She smiled at him, to let him know that she wasn't truthfully all that concerned about "his" feelings, and was for the most part, the important part, joking. Mike shook his head, and smiled quickly before he spoke.
Mike Mizanin: I mean yeah I could have told him, but the look on his face made for some great TV. I don't really get the guys deal though, I mean you guys have been broken up for a year now. I mean just because he and I became friends, means I can't be with someone I really hit it off with, because he dated that person a year ago? I dated a girl in high school, that one of my good friends to this day, ended up marrying. It's funny I should bring that example up, because that's what this whole situation is starting to feel like with him, High School. It's like ok, I'm dating a girl you used to date, why don't you go find John Cena, and cry in a bar together somewhere. Grow up, get over it, at first I was going to apologize for not telling him, but one of the big reasons I didn't was because I didn't feel the need to ask permission to be happy with you, and I wasn't going to risk a confrontation this month, that would slow down the momentum for our match on Sunday.
Layla nodded. She understood how much of a hot head Allen could be, and knew what Mike had just said made a lot of sense. She didn't put it past Allen to start an actual fight on camera or off, that would have derailed a match that these two friends turned bitter enemies, careers would without question both benefit from. She still had concerns.
Layla El: Now you two are going to have to work together though. In a setting that doesn't get much bigger or better, I mean it's Wrestlemania. I just pray your match doesn't turn into an actual fist fight, I don't think the fans would like that, or who knows maybe they would.
Mike put his upper lip over his bottom lip, and sarcastically mulled the thought over.
Mike Mizanin: I don't know, I mean I think EBWF might want the match to go a little bit longer than the 10 seconds it would take me to beat the hell out of him in an actual fight. Trust me Lay, I've just had it with this guy. I'm the ultimate professional, but if he tries to pull something on Sunday because his little feelings are hurt, I'm going to bruise a lot more than his pride. You'd think he could just be happy, I mean he won the god damn Royal Rumble, he's fighting at Wrestlemania for the EBWF World Heavyweight Championship, he's getting the shot, that he continuously pisses and moans that he "never gets." I would hope he could just be a man, perform, and put on a great show for the fans, but I guess we'll just have to see. Either way, I'll be ready.
He was dead serious. In his mind, he was trying to start a relationship with Layla, and Mike hadn't been the relationship type for some time. He was annoyed that the girl that finally got him, was a former flame of one of his friends, but thought it was childish to ignore feelings because of something like that. He wasn't sorry, and didn't felt that he owed anyone an explanation. They were adults, and Mike felt that he and Layla were the ones acting like it.
Layla El: You know you're kind of sexy when you get all serious.
Mike stopped and looked at Layla with an intrigued expression.
Mike Mizanin: Oh yeah?
Layla nodded flirtatiously and Mike picked her up under her arms. She let out a startled but excited girlish scream. He let her down slowly and the two began to kiss, right there in the airport, as if nobody else was around. The kiss lasted for 15-20 seconds, and paparazzi photographers were having a field day. When the kiss broke the Layla and Mike's eyes never left each other. The photographers were snapping pictures as the two remained locked in an embrace. Finally, Mike looked to the side to see the paparazzi and he could only smile.
Mike Mizanin: Hey I mean, we already made out on national television, what's a few more pictures going to do? I'm sure Allen won't care that the first thing he's going to see when he gets to St. Louis is pictures of you and I making out in the St. Louis airport.
Layla El: Yeah he might even tweet about how angry he is!
The couple sarcastically made faces at each other that indicated "fear." They both laughed as Mike put his arm around Layla's shoulders, and she put her arm on his lower back. The two walked down the hallway of the airport as the scene faded out.
We reopened the scene and it was morning outside of the Four Seasons in St. Louis, Missouri. The camera went inside and was soon standing outside a door that had a "Do Not Disturb" sign on it. The door was then ripped open, and Mike came out. His hair was a mess, matted in every direction. He was in a pair of blue basketball shorts, and he was shirtless. He was talking to himself like he was in the middle of the Sahara Desert and just needed some..
Mike Mizanin: Water.. water.. water. A HAH!
Mike spotted a Dasani vending machine, and sprinted to it. He reached into his basketball shorts pulled out his wallet and got 2 bottles of water. He opened the door of his suite and re-entered. This time the camera followed him. Layla was laying on the bed with an extremely satisfied look on her face. She pulled the covers around what we could only imagine was her naked body, and smiled when Mike came in with the water. He handed her one. The two looked at each other and started to giggle. As they both took a long sip, and let out an "AHHH" in unison. This ensued more giggling. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what had just taken place.
Layla El: Well that wasn't a bad way to start the morning.
Mike smiled and nodded in agreement.
Mike Mizanin: Yeah screw Folgers in my cup, THAT is the best part of waking up. I think I'm going to be able to get used to having you on the road with me.
He leaned in and kissed her. She looked at him, in a way that spoke volumes. She loved the way he treated her, he seemed to be a genuinely good guy. Who was living his dream, and letting her in to be a part of it with him. He broke the silence.
Mike Mizanin: SHIT! What time is it? Where is the clock?
They both looked right to the night stand where it had been. It was not there but they say a black wire that it was connected to, that was draped off the side of the stand. They looked at each other and smiled.
Layla El: We must have knocked it over when you..
Mike Mizanin: And then you..
Layla El: And then we...
They both started laughing again. Mike roped in the wire and finally got to the clock. He looked at it and it said 8:09. He had to be to 105.7 the point for his live interview in 21 minutes.
Mike Mizanin: 21 minutes, luckily it's radio!
Layla El: I'm sure we'll still manage to look wonderful!
Mike smiled in a way that was much more Miz in nature.
Mike Mizanin: Well, obviously.
He kissed her once more on the lips, and then went on a kissing rampage on her cheeks which made her giggle. Both he and Layla then quickly started to get ready to go to his interview as the scene faded to black.
We reopened to the EBWF logo. Outside of 105.7 The Point. The camera went inside and The Miz and Layla were seen shaking a couple of hands. behind a glass screen. The Miz had on an all black suit with black undershirt and white tie. He had the EBWF Championship draped over his shoulder. Layla had on dark jeans and a small white t shirt that read in pink writing "My man is awesome" and when she turned to walk into the booth, we read the back that said "Be Jealous." With Layla's name signed in cursive underneath. The two sat down at the booth and put their head phones on. They both had very confident expressions on their face. The show was then brought back in live.
Voice: Welcome back to the Woody and Rizzuto Show, on 105.7 The Point, St. Louis' source for EVERYTHING Alternative!
Woody: Welcome back to the Woody and Rizzuto Show. As many of you know, it is EBWF Wrestlemania Week here in St. Louis, and the city is buzzing to say the least.
Rizzuto: Yeah just this morning, I saw a guy in an Ultimate Warrior costume, at 7 am. Crazy.
Woody: There are few professional sports, or even any entertainment, I'm talking movies, tv shows, plays, musical acts, that get people in a tizzy quite like the EBWF and Professional Wrestling. We were joined earlier by CM Punk, and we are joined by another EBWF superstar he is a man that needs no introduction, but since I get paid the big bucks, I'll give him one anyway, please welcome to the Woody and Rizzuto Show, the EBWF World Heavyweight Champion, The Miz and his lovely girlfriend Layla. Welcome to the show guys.
The Miz: Thanks for having us, and you're welcome for your ratings that just went through the roof.
Layla El: You may have had CM Punk on earlier, but there is a reason why Miz is on now, and he was on at 6:30 in the morning when nobody was even awake. Well almost nobody.
She looked at Miz and smiled, and Miz looked back at her and smiled as well.
The Miz: She means we were having sex at that time this morning, guys.
Woody and Rizzuto in Unison: WHOA WHOA WHOA,
Woody: TMI, TMI. Miz and Layla making an impact right away on the show. Speaking of which though, you two didn't take long to hit the papers here. Did you see that this morning Rizz? These two made headlines already, when they were spotted making out, right in the middle of the airport!
Rizzuto: I saw that.
The Miz looked at Rizzuto.
The Miz: Spot on drop in their Rizz.
Rizzuto: I do what I can.
Woody: Tell us about the kiss guys, I mean a little restraint perhaps? I mean you're in the airport, you just have to start kissing? I mean you just can't hold back, or what? What was the story?
The Miz looked at Layla.
The Miz: Would you want to hold back if either of you were ever with a woman as beautiful as her?
Woody and Rizzuto looked at each other. You could tell that Miz had put them in their place.
Woody: Touche.
Rizzuto: Yeah, fair enough.
Miz smiled and sat back confidently in his chair.
Woody: So tell us a little bit about what's going on this week. All sorts of exciting things for the fans. Wrestlemania is really like the Superbowl for Professional Wrestling, isn't that right?
The Miz: Yeah, you got it. I mean it's a huge spectacle, all sorts of fan access events, events for the make-a-wish foundation, a chance for the EBWF fans to mingle and rub elbow's with the superstars, and of course there is no star quite as Super as The Miz.
Woody: Or as modest apparently! But hey you are the EBWF World Heavyweight Champion so there's got to be some truth to that. Talk to us a little bit about your match coming up on Sunday, against the winner of this years Royal Rumble, AJ Styles.
The Miz: Yeah, AJ Styles won the Royal Rumble, so he earned the right to face me at Wrestlemania for the EBWF Championship. Although, I hate to break it to him, but earning the right to face The Miz isn't really much of a prize. That'd be like you guys having a radio contest for the ladies, and the winner got to go on a date with Rizzuto. It's a prize that nobody would really want.
Woody: WHOA! Harsh words from The Miz, how do you respond Rizz?
Rizzuto went in to his best Hulk Hogan impression.
Rizzuto: Well listen here brother, ha ha na, it's ok, my wife thinks I'm handsome.
Layla El: Is she blind?
Woody, Miz and Layla all were laughing. This was some good-natured ribbing from Lay-Miz.
Woody: Man oh man, Rizzuto is getting killed in here right now. So Miz you say nobody would want to win a chance to face you, why is that? I mean you'd think people would want a shot to be the champion, to be the man, wouldn't they?
The Miz: Maybe Woody, maybe if they had a shot to do either of those things. The sad truth however, Woody, is that they don't. AJ Styles by winning the Royal Rumble, did not earn himself a chance to be the champion, or to be the man, he earned himself the CERTAINTY of being humiliated by me in front of not only the sold out crowd here in St. Louis, but the millions of people all over the world who will be watching this Sunday. AJ Styles has done nothing but ride my coat tails for the past 4 months. While he followed me around, got drunk, and carried on like the child that he is. I was preparing myself. Preparing myself for a reign at the top of our company, that EVERYBODY knows I earned. I was preparing myself to not only be the best, because that's something I always have been, but to STAY the best. This Sunday you may think AJ Styles has a chance to become the man, or to become the best, but the only thing he has prepared for, is to fall WAY short, in the biggest match of his life, against a FAR FAR FAR superior opponent. AJ Styles has no idea what it's like to be the man, and it's a weight and a responsibility that his shoulders just aren't broad enough to handle, and now he won't even have me around to make him relevant after he can't get the job done .
Layla El: Believe me Woody, I dated the guy, and he hardly EVER got the job done, if you know what I'm saying!
Woody and Rizzuto: OHHHHHH!
Woody: This is getting fun in here right now. So Miz you talk about not being around for him, and him riding on your coat tails. Tell our listeners what you mean, you guys have been allies right?
The Miz: That's right. I approached AJ a few months back with an idea. An idea to join forces, as I felt at the time that he and I were two of the most talented, yet overlooked guys in the entire company. He agreed and along with my then manager Funaki we formed the group Trilogy. We later upgraded Funaki for the now EBWF Path To Glory Champion Ted DiBiase, and truth be told guys, we ran the EBWF. Ted won his belt, AJ won the Royal Rumble and was the Intercontinental Champion at the time, and I won the EBWF Championship. SO th.
Woody: So what happened?
Layla El: Please don't interrupt him.
Woody: Oh sorry, sorry.
Woody and Rizzuto caught eyes and smiled like two kids who weren't supposed to be talking at church.
The Miz: So then, as you might expect. AJ was expecting all the attention and glory for winning the Royal Rumble, but his problem was he was standing next to me. He was standing next to the guy that already held, what he had won the right to fight for. So naturally, the spotlight, the glory, the attention, it went to the better man, it went to the champion, it went to The Miz, and AJ just couldn't handle it. He started to go behind my back, and tried to even turn Ted against me. His pride would lead him to say things, such as he didn't need me, or that Trilogy didn't need me, but deep down he knew and he still knows the truth. Nobody gives a damn about AJ Styles unless he is standing next to The Miz, and this Sunday after I destroy him and retain my EBWF Championship, his moment in the sun, his chance to be in the spotlight.. or at least the shadow of my spotlight.. will be over. He will come out here this week and tell everyone how Trilogy was only dominate because he was in it, but it will be nothing but false bravado. Look at the facts, fact 1 AJ let us down this past month at Fallout when he lost the Intercontinental Championship, proving yet again that he's a loser and that he's incapable of having any sort of sustained success. Fact 2, look at the way he acted in the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania. You could see this entire month that AJ knew that without me by his side, he was nothing but a fraud.
Woody: How so?
Layla El: He's going to tell you.. shh.
Woody nodded again, looking at Rizzuto like "I thought this was our show."
The Miz: Week in and week out, "Miz where you going? "Miz you're leaving, but I need you Miz." "Miz you're just going to walk out." "Miz, Miz, Miz, Miz, Miz." Not once guys, not once did you hear Ted DiBiase say he needed me, not once did you hear Ted ask me anything, because Ted DiBiase is a winner, and that's why he is still by my side. That's why Trilogy WITHOUT AJ Styles will still remain a dominate force in the EBWF. Yeah when I started this group with AJ, it was to get my name out there, it was to make an impact, and to get people's attention. Once I had their attention, I didn't need anybody holding my hand as I bulldozed my way to the top of this company, and once I was there I haven't needed anyone's help to stay there.
Woody: Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the point of having a stable or an alliance, so that you can all watch each other's backs.
The Miz: To AJ that's what Trilogy was. His safety net. He saw us, ME in particular as someone who was supposed to help him hide his own shortcomings, someone to come to the rescue every time he needed me. Well guys, I didn't align myself with AJ so that I could be responsible for his win loss record. Despite what his warped sense of reality might tell him, I am and have ALWAYS been the leader of this group, and I've always tried to lead by example. My vision for this group, was not to be the group that cheated their way to victories, I didn't see us as a group that depended on each other to be successful. I saw us as a group of competitors that had what it took to be successful in our own individual careers, so that collectively we would be a feared entity in this company. AJ didn't see it that way, he saw joining Trilogy as the easy way out, so the second I made him do anything on his own, he fell flat on his face. He exposed himself as the coward that he is, so this past Monday we kicked him out of Trilogy, we made it clear that his vision for the group was NEVER going to come to fruition. What Trilogy is now, without AJ, is 2 men who have an understanding. An understanding of what it takes to be a champion, of what it takes to be successful in this business. AJ didn't have that understanding. Last month, while AJ Styles was losing his Intercontinental Championship to ONE man, I was beating FIVE MEN inside the Elimination Chamber to REMAIN the EBWF Champion, to REMAIN the MAN, to REMAIN on top. AJ didn't have the understanding then, and he won't have the understanding this Sunday, so I hope he will UNDERSTAND when I beat the living hell out of him, and show him who the man is around here, who was driving force of Trilogy all along, and who the ultimate triumph in this business goes through, but deep down no matter what he might say this week guys.. he already knows.
Woody: So you kick him out of Trilogy this past week, you start dating his old girlfriend the week before, and this is someone who was supposedly your friend.
The Miz: AJ was never my friend Woody. Let me explain it to you. I haven't done a whole lot of losing since I've been reinstated but AJ actually did earn a victory over me, shortly there after like I said I approached him with the idea of the Trilogy. I respected him, and I thought that he and I could do great things together, and at first we did, but the more he saw first hand what an extraordinary talent I was, he knew being around me was going to be his ticket to the top, the second this clicked with him, he started to change little by little. He became overly content, he drank excessively, partied too much, but what he really did guys, was rest on his laurels.
Rizzuto: Got a little too comfortable, didn't think he needed to work as hard?
The Miz: Exactly, back when I first joined forces with AJ he would have NEVER done anything like that. He had the desire to succeed, he was motivated, and he even got a clean win against the best wrestler to ever lace up his boots, when he pinned me 1.. 2.. 3 but now it's different. That fire is out, it's pathetic, it's sad even. The image of him in a pool of his own blood last week on Warfare pretty much says it all. AJ Styles is on a free fall downward, because he did the one thing you can never do when you are successful in this business, he relaxed. Even one second of relaxation, can cost you a life time of glory in this company. AJ, I hope you're listening when I tell you, that you and I, we were never friends, I respected you, but that respect has long since disappeared, now that I got to know you for the lazy, good for nothing, piece of crap that you are. What we did to you this past Monday night, if I had the chance to do it over again, I would. A million times out of a million I want you to know that from the bottom of my heart that nothing gives me more pleasure, than to see you in pain, and to see you suffering.
Woody: That's a little harsh don't you think?
The Miz shook his head.
The Miz: No I don't. The one thing I can't stand more than anything else, is to see someone throw away their potential because they lost their focus. The whiny, needy, hanger-on mentality that you developed AJ, looked bad on me, it looked bad on Trilogy. You made us look weak, and I will NEVER allow that, not on MY watch. You may look at Layla, as the one that got away, but the fact is you never had a future with her, she needed a strong man, she needed someone that was going to protect her and take care of her, not someone she had to protect and take care of. You were NEVER enough of a man for her, just like you will NEVER be ENOUGH of a MAN to be the EBWF World Heavyweight Champion, and I can't tell you how happy it's going to make the both of us to be able to see UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL when your free fall downward ends. How much joy, we both will have when you finally hit ROCK BOTTOM. And you will AJ, you will hit rock bottom this Sunday, when just like Layla, you will let your chance at reaching the pinnacle of the EBWF, slip right through your fingers, you will let your ONE chance at greatness, your ONE chance of proving that you truly are "Phenomenal," GET AWAY.
Woody: Well AJ Styles, if you're listening, The Miz, clearly isn't messing around. It sounds like this match for the EBWF World Championship this Sunday is going to be an. absolute. war. I for one can't wait. Miz, Layla, thank you guys so much for being on the show. Miz best of luck on Sunday, and enjoy your time here in St. Louis.
The Miz was still very intense from his delivering his message to AJ Styles, but he and Lay both managed to say..
The Miz: Thank you.
Layla El: Thank you
Woody: We'll be right back with more Woody and Rizzuto on 105.7 The Point, right after this
All 4 individuals took off their headsets, and the scene faded to the black.
It reopened once again, to the EBWF logo for a 2nd time. There was a caption in white at the bottom left hand corner of the screen that read "EBWF ACCESS FRIDAY GROUP C" The scene was pure bedlam in the thousands upon thousands of people had turned out. For EBWF ACCESS. Booth's were set up in the distance, and the camera zoomed in to make out some of the superstars that were currently signing. Among them were Randy Orton, Wes Ikeda, Nicole Orton, Jeff Hardy, The Miz and Layla, Torrie Wilson, and Chris Jericho. There was a movie sized screen set up that was playing EBWF highlights of past Wrestlemanias, as well as video packages for this years card. The camera got closer to the madness and was getting closer and closer to the booths. As the camera made it's way towards the superstars, random fans would make faces into the camera, or yell out the occasional "WRESTLEMANIA, WOOOOO" The camera panned around the superstars signing, until it got to The Miz and Layla's booth. Miz was wearing a black long sleeve "I'll Be Miz/You Be Jealous" shirt, while Layla wor The camera zoomed in so that they could make out the interactions between The Miz and the fans. The first fan that came up to him had an AJ Styles T Shirt On. He was probably in his 40's or so. He looked at Miz and spoke in a hateful tone.
Fan #1: The only reason I'm in your line right now, is because I wanted to A.) Look at Layla, hello darling.
Layla gave an uncomfortable wave, and a fake smile. She was noticeably creeped out with how the man was looking at her. Miz had a look on his face like you could almost hear him saying "Really?"
Fan #1: and B. ) I wanted to tell you to your face, that you are the worst champion, the EBWF has ever seen, and that there is NO WAY that you will still be holding that belt, after tomorrow night.
The man turned to the crowd.
Fan #1: AJ STYLES!
The crowd started chanting "AJ, AJ, AJ, AJ!" Miz did not let this little uprising rattle him, he instead went over to a podium that was set up right in front of the screen. He tapped the mic a couple of times.
The Miz: HELLO, HELLO, HELLO, EBWF ACCESS!
There was a few cheers, but mostly boo's, the majority of the audience realized that Miz wasn't going for a cheap pop to gain the fans favor. That would be crystal clear to everyone moments later.
The Miz: AJ huh? You mean this AJ?
A footage of the attack from Monday Night issued by DiBiase and Miz was shown as the crowd booed loudly.
The Miz: That AJ huh? Oh how quickly you all forget. What a difference a few short months makes. You all were ready to crucify AJ, when he turned his back on you to join up with me. So what made you change your minds? huh? What happened that you were like, "hey I'm going to get back on AJ's side again." I'll tell you what happened, this happened.
The screen showed a shot of AJ's bloody face.
The Miz: And this happened.
The screen showed the clip from Warfare where he and Layla were making out before getting into their limo. It then showed AJ frantically running after them, just as they were leaving the building.
The Miz: You feel sorry for him. You feel sorry for him that EVERYTHING in his world is falling apart. You feel sorry for him that his career, his personal matters, his ENTIRE LIFE is going down the drain, and you all want to blame ME, for the demise of your hero. You all sit there and rationalize it to yourself "Miz stole his girlfriend." "Miz turned his back on him" "Miz this" and "Miz that," when the person you should be blaming, the person you should be mad at for the destruction of all that is AJ Styles, is none other than.. AJ STYLES.
The crowd booed loudly. The Miz smiled.
The Miz: AJ is like a boxer who doesn't keep his gloves up, and then gets mad at the other guy for knocking him out. Now I can't speak directly to AJ because as you can see this is clearly the cream of the crop signing autographs for you right now. AJ was here earlier with his little opening act crew, not sure how Ted got stuck in that group, but regardless I'm sure AJ will hear this, so AJ if you're out there, I want you to listen to me, and listen good as I talk to all your flip flop fans who are only cheering for you again, because they feel bad for how pathetic you've become. This is ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL OF IT. You made the mistakes, you dropped your gloves and LIFE KNOCKED YOU OUT! BOO HOO, "Miz betrayed me, he went out with my ex girlfriend, bro's before ho's.." JUST SHUT UP!
The crowd booed but many of them were startled by how deranged Miz seemed in this moment.
The Miz: ITS YOUR FAULT, you aren't together, it's your FAULT that you don't get to live the life with her that you ALWAYS dreamed of, it's YOUR FAULT that I get to live that life instead of you. You did this to yourself, we've talked about you AJ, Allen, we've talked about what happened with you two, we've talked about how you were a weight that she carried around on her ankle like a prisoner. It was always your problems, your issues, there was nobody there to worry about her, worry about what she was feeling. Now she's gone and she's never coming back, she's MINE!
Layla walked over to Miz with an evil smirk on her face. Miz put her arm around her, and the crowd booed. A "slut" chant broke out. Though Miz was cutting an impromptu in character promo at a fan event, he may actually be a genius because the fans were having a blast. Layla sat down at a chair right by where The Miz was talking.
The Miz: And you can blame me for your being thrown out of Trilogy, but that TOO is your fault. Even Ted who was supposedly your best buddy, sided with ME OVER YOU. He sided with me because at no point in time, did I try to pit him against you. At no point in time, did I treat him like he was a 5 year old unable to make a decision on his own. The second you did that AJ, you started playing with fire, and you GOT BURNED this past Monday Night.
The crowd booed once again.
The Miz: BUT NONE OF THAT is my fault, NONE OF THAT is Ted's fault, ALL OF THAT IS YOUR FAULT. This coming Sunday Night, could have been a great night for us, AJ. Both of us. It would have been just like we talked about when we went into the Royal Rumble. The best two wrestlers in the business going one on one, may the best man win, but regardless it would have been a victory for our team. You just didn't want it to be that way though did you AJ? You were sick of being looked at as the guy who always played second fiddle to me! So you tried to get rid of me, you blamed it on my leaving early during shows, that I wasn't in Trilogy for the right reasons, and countless other excuses that you tried to explain to Ted, but really you just wanted me out of the way, out of your spotlight. Well AJ, I got news for you. I AM NEVER leaving THE SPOTLIGHT, and I WILL ALWAYS BE IN YOUR WAY. Your plan backfired, and even though this match Sunday will not be Trilogy vs Trilogy like it could have been, TRILOGY will still be walking out of St. Louis with the EBWF World Heavyweight Championship, and TRILOGY WILL LIVE ON STRONGER THAN EVER, WITHOUT YOU!
The Miz composed himself. It was clear he was beyond fired up, and the things he was saying were delivered with such fire, that you could tell there were portions of it, that went a lot farther than just an on screen beef. You could tell that Mike, the man behind The Miz, was legitimately fed up with Allen Jones and AJ Styles alike. He finally stepped back up to the microphone.
The Miz: So you can cheer him, you can chant his name all you want. And AJ, you can come out here, as I'm sure you will, and tell me that I have hell to pay, for all the things that you feel I've done wrong to you, but I never want you to forget that when I am beating you within an inch of your life on Sunday Night, I want you to remember.. I NEED you to remember..that it was ALL. YOUR. FAULT.
The crowd booed as Miz left the podium, and Layla joined him. The look on his face was that of a conflicted man. It was clear that the first fan had gotten to Miz, even though he was just a "it's still real to me, damnit" type fan. Miz had snapped, the fans enjoyed getting to see a live promo, but in a way it felt like much more. Miz sat back down at his booth. He said coldly, and very blankly.
The Miz: Next.
And all the same as if the promo had never been cut, the line continued to move the energy and excitement remained. Miz was the ultimate professional, but you could tell from the look in his eyes, that his brain and his thoughts were not on EBWF ACCESS at this time. He was already in the ring with AJ. Layla sat next to him and rubbed his back, knowing that though he was technically in character, he was fuming on the inside. And staged or not staged, real or fake, The Miz was ready for a fight with AJ Styles. The scene faded away as Friday Access was alive and hopping.
When the scene faded back in. We were back at the Four Seasons. In the hotel room of Mike and Layla El. Mike was sitting on the bed wearing a black tuxedo. His mind seemed to be elsewhere as he sat with his elbows on his knees and his knuckles on his chin. Layla walked into the room, from the bathroom wearing a stunningly beautiful low cut dark green mini dress. Mike's eyes got wide, and he smiled. He could only manage one word.
Mike Mizanin: Wow.
Layla smiled. She twirled around one time.
Layla El: Do ya like?
Mike scratched the back of his head like he was a 12 year old with his first crush on a girl.
Mike Mizanin: I don't think like is a strong enough word, seriously Lay, you look absolutely stunning.
Layla blushed, she went over and sat on his lap, and put her hands around his neck.
Layla El: Thank you, and you look very handsome as always, but Mikey, what's wrong?
Mike looked taken aback, there was NO way she was that good at reading him already.
Mike Mizanin: How do you mean?
Layla El: Mike I know you, I know you'll claim that at Access this afternoon you were just "being Miz," but there was some read between the lines stuff there, and don't tell me there wasn't. That wasn't a typical promo, you seemed truly upset. I've seen you act, and you aren't that convincing.
Mike smiled at the joke, and it was much needed to lighten the mood, and make Mike a little more comfortable to give an honest response.
Mike Mizanin: You're right. You remember earlier when we were talking the other day about how Allen was the one that was more likely to start an actual fist fight.
Layla El: Mm Hm.
Mike Mizanin: I'm not so sure now. I mean I wasn't going to sink to his level and trade insults on twitter, but the more and more I think about the disrespectful things he's said to you. The more and more I think about the things he's said to and about me, I'm going to hurt him, Lay. I swear it's going to take every ounce of my energy to not knock him out tonight. The only thing that will keep me from doing that, is that I won't even notice he's there, because of that dress.
She laughed flattered, Mike smiled quickly, but was seriously shortly there after. He let out a deep sigh, as if he was calming back down, realizing that resolving this problem like he would of in his days as a frat boy, would not be the best solution.
Mike Mizanin: Sunday at Wrestlemania, regardless of who wins, isn't going to be a match. It's going to be a fight. The little extra emotion will be good for the match and I guess we can just leave it at that. But listen to me regardless of the things he might say tonight or on camera or whatever, I want you to know something. You and I, we aren't wrong. You and I are right, we are perfect. The only thing that would be wrong, would be us not being together.
Layla nodded. She knew Mike was trying to reassure her, that no matter what cold hearted things AJ might say to her, A.) He'd be there to address them and B.) They were coming from a bitter place, and should be taken as such.
Mike Mizanin: Allen Jones isn't Allen Jones unless he has something to whine and bitch about. He could be world champion of the universe, and he'd still feel like he was being held back. You and I being together, is just his flavor of the week. So I want you to do something for me.
He pulled her in a little bit closer with his that were wrapped around the small of her back.
Mike Mizanin: I want you to give me a kiss.
She gave him a kiss on the nose.
Mike Mizanin: And I want you and I to go have a perfect night! You ready beautiful?
Layla got off his lap and Mike stuck his elbow out, offering his arm for her to take. She did so.
Layla El: Ready!
She smiled and so did he. For the moment, Mike had seemed to talk the anger that was building, out and it seemed as though he was at ease with all things Allen Jones. He and Layla left the hotel room and were on their way to Dinner with the Divas as the scene faded out.
The scene faded back in to the EBWF logo. The EJ Dome was packed and full of electricity. The night had finally arrived, it was Wrestlemania Time! The fans were packing into the seats as the pre show was set to begin. A huge set of pyrotechnics went off, and WM XI was officially underway. No sooner did the pre-show begin, and the cheers get so loud that the building was shaking, did we hear..
AWEEEEEEESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Followed by "I Came To Play" by Downstait. The Miz already in his tights and a DANGER: I'm Awesome Black with Red Letter T Shirt, made his way to the ring with the EBWF Title draped over his shoulder. Layla was right by his side wearing a black mini skirt and the black with pink letters version of the t shirt she wore to the radio interview. The boo's were just as loud as the cheers were moments before. The Miz grabbed a microphone and his eyes moved from side to side soaking in all the boo's. An "AJ" chant broke out again. He moved the microphone from finger to finger as he waited for his time to speak. Finally the crowd got to a manageable volume, and he began.
The Miz: They say the worst characteristic, that a man in trouble can have is predictability. If a man is under duress, and there is somebody coming to hurt him, the worst thing he can be is predictable. How can a man who is trying to protect himself from harm, escape that harm, if the man who is coming after him, knows EVERY LAST thing that he will do before he does it. AJ Styles, is, predictable.
The crowd booed loudly The Miz smirked and Layla nodded with an evil grin on her face as well.
The Miz: AJ Styles is as predictable as they come. I know what I have in an opponent tonight here St. Louis. I know AJ Styles, better than AJ Styles knows himself. AJ Styles is a bee, and in his mind I have thrown a rock at his nest. AJ Styles is going to come in here tonight in just a few short hours, and he's going to be that angry bee who just got a rock thrown at him. He's going to come at me with everything that he's got in his being, angry, mad, upset, all rolled in to one, all that fury directed at me.
The crowd cheered at this thought, Miz was getting fired up, to egg them on as well.
The Miz: Yeah that's right, he's going to going to come ready to fight, that angry bee, looking to sting the crap out of me.. but what happens St. Louis, after a bee stings somebody... huh? What happens?
The Miz looked around the crowd, like he was going to call on somebody, Layla had her hand raised like she couldn't wait to spit out the answer.
The Miz: Yes Layla?
He held the mic to her, she screamed out.
Layla El: THEY DIE!
The Miz looked pleased, he flashed a sinister grin.
The Miz: They die. I know you AJ, I know how you tick. You fight with emotions, not your brain. You are that angry bee, even if you know that after one sting, you're dead, when you're mad enough you are going to sting anyway. AND you're mad enough right now, aren't you AJ? You're PLENTY mad enough. So go ahead buddy, come out here tonight, sting me, I'm waiting for you, I'm throwing rock after rock at your nest until you come out, and I want you good and pissed off. I want you to come out tonight AJ, and be that predictable bee that we both know you are. Because after that first wave of anger and emotion is over. After you put your stinger in my flesh, and I'm still standing here, somethings going to hit you AJ. You are going to realize your best shot, your best sting, WILL NEVER be enough to put me down. Just like you are predictable in the way you are going to approach the start of tonights match, you are also ALL too predictable as to how you will react in this moment.
The Miz paused and let the crowd finish a "Miz sucks" chant.
The Miz: I know how you will react in this moment. The moment that a person realizes that the battle before them is more uphill than they ever could have imagined, the moment that a person realizes that even if they sacrifice every drop of sweat, every ounce of blood, every fiber in their being to beat someone, it still MAY not be enough, the MOMENT that separates the champions.
The Miz pointed to himself, and Layla pointed to Miz as well.
The Miz:.. from the wanna be's
The Miz and Layla both pointed to the camera. Sending a direct message to AJ Styles.
The Miz: Is THIS defining moment. The defining moment, where you find out what kind of competitor, what kind of MAN someone is, is the moment that I know EXACTLY what you will do, AJ. This is the moment that I KNOW with ALL MY HEART that you will fold. AJ, The difference between you and I, well I should say one of the many differences between you and I, is I have that X-Factor. I have that bone in my body, that even if I am in a tough spot, I have the will, and I have the DESIRE to persevere and rise above it and come out on top. You don't have that AJ, you never have, and you never will. There is going to come a time tonight, where you feel that you have given me all that you have, and I'm going to feel that I've given you all that I have, but the fact is in that moment where we both think that we can't go on, BOTH of us are going to have a little something left. Both of us are going to have a little left in the tank. The one thing you can count on, AJ, the one thing you ALL can count on, the one thing, St. Louis, that is 150 percent PREDICTABLE, is that the man who finds that little extra, the man that will dig down deeper for the right to call himself the BEST, the man that will dig down deeper to be able to call himself the EBWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION,
WILL. BE. ME.
BEEEEEECAUSSSSSSEEE I'MMMMMM THE MIZZZZ ANNNNND I'MMMMMM AWEEEEEEEEESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
The Miz dropped the mic and Layla clapped. He put looked dead serious, like he was ready to fight right then and there. He opened the ropes for Layla and she exited the ring. Miz followed suit and walked back up the ramp soaking in the boo's from the sold out crowd. One thing was for certain, Miz was ready for a fight, and despite his confident front, he knew AJ would be too.
This Is All Your Fault!
