The scene opened in a dimly lit locker room. Trish stratus was seen from the midsection up, in a form fitting black tank top. She was seated and the video was being shot vertically, leaving black bars on either side of the feed.
Trish Stratus: Round one of the Queen of Tournament is finally upon us. Until last week, the boys had been having all of the fun. Of course, the matches are triple threat matches, which puts all of us at a marked disadvantage. EBWF management doesn’t want to level the playing field for us, so I guess the women’s locker room will just have to step up and show them, huh?
She grinned.
Trish Stratus: All week long I’ve been getting the same questions. Do you think you can win Queen of the Ring? How do you feel about Raquel Diaz? How are you preparing your matchup with Rosemary and Winter on Warfare?
Her chuckle was incredulous, as she looked directly into the camera.
Trish Stratus: Here’s what I can tell you about my state of mind going into this matchup tonight. Do I look like I need to win the Queen of the Ring tournament? I love the EBWF fans, and I know they’d love to see me as Queen of the Ring, but winning this tournament isn’t exactly something I need. Not like say, Lana, or Rosemary, or Alexa Bliss. No, the EBWF fans know that I am already the Queen of the Ring, in this and any other wrestling ring I should choose to step in. So, do I want a women’s title shot at Summerslam. Of course! Do I need one. No. The women’s title is always there waiting for me, when I decide to take it. I can share, benevolent quintessential diva I am.
Her trademark smirk returned.
Trish Stratus: At Warfare, I have to take on…. two absolutely batshit women who believe they reap souls and speak to shadows. Rosemary thinks I need to bend the knee because I have a bad aura. When Winter isn’t licking Becky Lynch’s boots she’s… truly believing she’s tortured people? I… I have a lot of questions.
Trish shrugged.
Trish Stratus: But let me tell you the main reason that I don’t need to win this matchup. Because I don’t need the hassle. Now, you might be asking yourself, Trish… does that mean you’re not going to wrestle at Warfare? No, I’ll be there, because unlike some people on the women’s roster, I’m a professional and I’m book, so I’ll work. You won’t find me complaining needlessly that I have always been Queen of the Ring, so there’s no reason to relitigate this. You won’t me find me walking around with a championship belt that isn’t mine. See, I don’t need the hassle of winning the Queen of the Ring tournament, because we all know how this ends. I defeat Becky Lynch, and we have to listen to her go on and on for months on end about the nonexistent conspiracies against her. How she’s the rightful champion. How she’s the true Queen of the Ring. Becky styles herself as some kind of anti-hero, and it’s cool if the fans want to boo me for saying so, but back here? She just kind of comes off like a bitch. I mean, for some of us she made Raquel likable and that’s not easy to do.
Trish laughed to herself.
Trish Stratus: So I’m not really all that concerned about losing to Winter or Rosemary tonight. I wish them luck, because if Becky Lynch doesn’t win this tournament, she’s going to burn this whole division down and expect us to like her while she does it. I’ll see you out there ladies. Bring your best, so we can show all these other ladies what work really is.
Trish flashed the camera a smile, and reached forward cutting the feed.
