Made to Last (Trish Stratus)

Post by Ashlee »

The EBWF logo flashed on the screen as an EBWF Exclusive broadcast on the Official EBWF YouTube Channel. Renee Young was standing on-stage in front of a bevy of EBWF Fans at the semi-annual live event.

Renee Young: What’s up Access? Are you having a good time so far!

The crowd cheered.

Renee Young: Here to speak about her match Sunday night at Fanniversary please welcome, the Quintessential Diva…

The crowd cheered at the mention of Trish’s moniker as Renee continued.

Renee Young: She is the longest reigning Women’s Champion in EBWF History, Trish Stratus!

Trish came from a backstage area, and waved to the crowd. Her honey blonde hair was down, and she wore a black Trish the Riveter t-shirt that she had tied up above her belly button. She wore a white gold Gucci belt buckle with black pleather pants and stiletto over-the knee boots. She stood at center stage and waved out to the adoring crowd, before joining Renee where two cozy chairs were set up. Trish took a seat and crossed her legs at the knee.

Renee Young: Hello Gorgeous!

Trish Stratus: Hello yourself. Are you enjoying this wonderful weekend?

Renee Young: I am. So are they!

Renee gestured out to the fans in the audience.

Trish Stratus: It’s so much fun to spend time with the EBWF Universe all weekend.

Renee Young: Right? And they get to see you wrestle on Sunday night. How are you feeling about that match?

Trish Stratus: I think it’s a really fun idea. We see Torrie a couple of times a year, and I just love it when she’s around. We’ve been friends for years, and we love being in front of this crowd together.

Renee Young: Do you feel like EBWF is trying to force a grudge that isn’t there?

Trish Stratus: Look…

The crowd booed the question a bit and Trish laughed.

Renee Young: I had to ask!

Trish Stratus: You’re very good at your job, Renee. As I was saying, you know, look, I get it. It’s not a grudge match, it’s a best of the best match. I’m the longest reigning women’s champion in EBWF History. She’s the most decorated women’s champion in history. We are the past and present of the best EBWF has to offer.

The crowd cheered Trish’s words.

Trish Stratus: It’s going to be a clinic. It’s going to be two women who know each other’s every move. It’s going to be one of the best matches of the night, and we aren’t going to need a Cell to get the damn match over.

The crowd gave an “oooh” at Trish’s burn, and she tried to hide a chuckle by covering her mouth with her right hand.

Renee Young: Not impressed by our women’s title match?

Trish Stratus: I’m just underwhelmed by the whole thing. We have a women’s champion who Becky claims came to the championship under nefarious means. You have Becky who blames everyone but herself for her problems. I’ll be very glad when it’s over and the belt can move on with either one of them. It doesn’t matter who is champion. I’ll be waiting.

Renee Young: You’re challenging for the women’s championship?

Trish Stratus: I’m always challenging for the women’s championship, but there’s a few things I haven’t done. I haven’t had an unforgettable match with Britt Braker. There are some women in our industry I’d still like to see come in to EBWF. My match on Sunday is a celebration of the past, but unlike with Torrie, there’s still a lot of wrestling ahead of me.

Renee Young: You’ll be 46 in December…

Trish Stratus: Want to go there, do you? Okay.

Renee Young: There’s just some thought that we might be seeing Trish’s farewell tour here.

Trish Stratus: You can pull up my Instagram if you want to see that I’m ten times hotter and in one hundred times better shape than most of the women on this roster. What’s Tay Conti been doing? I didn’t even know she signed here.

The crowd reacted to that burn to and Trish looked out and smiled at the audience.

Trish Stratus: I just love you guys. Thank you. But Renee, yes, it’s true math alone tells us I have way more of my career behind me than in front of me, but in the here and now? I still have a lot to offer the EBWF Women’s Division. I think it’s amazing that Torrie is going to come home for this 20th Anniversary Celebration and let the fans see her in her element, but I’m going to beat her. It’s nothing personal. I just have something to fight for. I’m not here only to dish out a little Stratusfaction to the EBWF fans, but to start the road to another title reign. I have to tell you…

The crowd at the other end of the convention center had popped, and Trish and Renee both looked in that direction. “Miz is Awesome” chants had sprung up, followed by a raucous response of “RKO!”

Renee Young: It’s going on Noon, so that big group of superstars is showing up. Sounds like Randy Orton and The Miz have arrived.

Trish Stratus: Jericho! Natalya! I’m sitting next to Nattie and Rated RKO, it’s gonna be fun. They told me I already had a huge line, before I came out here.

Renee Young: I cut you off, I’m so sorry. You were talking about another title reign.

Trish Stratus: I was, yes, and I was saying that the reason I want to do it is for these fans. To be their champion is one of the greatest honors of my life, and Torrie has 10 of those championships. I have 8.

Renee Young: And you’re wanting to go for 11?

Trish Stratus: I don’t have a goal in mind, and I don’t feel this overwhelming need to break Torrie’s record. She hasn’t had a championship in nearly 10 years, and I’ve had four since she lost the belt in 2012. Two of those were record breaking championship reigns. I became the longest reigning women’s champion in history, had my record broken, then regained the title and earned that record again. I love Torrie.

The crowd chuckled.

Trish Stratus: I’m sorry, have I said I love Torrie enough? I do. I love her, but she’s not really on my level anymore. That isn’t her fault. She’s moved on to other projects, gotten into other things, and I support all of those endeavors. I’ll be there for her wherever she needs, but it’s clear that Sunday is going to be my night. I better get over there to my booth. Thank you so, so much, Renee.

Renee Young: Thanks, Trish!

Trish waved enthusiastically to the crowd before stepping down the stairs that led off the stage. She was led away by three security guards who ushered her to her seat.

Renee Young: Trish Stratus, everyone! If you’d like to meet Trish, her meet and greet is until 6! We hope you enjoy the rest of Fanniversary weekend!

Renee left the stage, going on to her next assignment as the EBWF Fanniversary coverage continued.
