The Miz had put the EBWF on notice. In the last episode of Warfare- he made it pretty clear that he didn't care who his next challenger would be for the EBWF Championship. He felt as though he was on top of his game, and on top of the world, as he began his fifth reign as the EBWF Champion. His victory over Cameron Grimes a couple of weeks back was just more evidence that Miz' confidence level was at an all time high. He had been the champion before, but this reign had a very different feel to it. Beating Randy Orton who was closing in on breaking his own record for longest reigning World Champion, was not just a run of the mill victory. It was a game changer in the EBWF and Miz' alliance with Paul Heyman was just the icing on the cake to that very sentiment. His match against Tommaso Ciampa would be the next installment in the career of this new "Heyman Guy" Miz that the world was just starting to get used to.
The scene opened up at a very fancy looking hotel. The camera started out on the outside of the establishment, but quickly panned inside. There was a ballroom of sorts that was inhabited by over a hundred people. There was an all you can eat buffet. Several bars, and men and women alike were dancing and having a great time, as a DJ played popular dance music for this large crowd. The camera panned around the party, and finally found what it was looking for. Off in the corner of this event, sat The Miz. He was in a light grey suit with a black undershirt and light gray tie. He had sunglasses over his eyes and the EBWF Championship over his shoulder. He sat looking almost disturbed, and distracted. He was motionless in a scene where there was activity all around him. After a couple of beats Paul Heyman entered the area where Miz was sitting. Paul was in a black suit with a white undershirt. He sat down in a chair next to Miz, with the chair facing the wrong way so he could lean over the edge of it. Miz didn't even acknowledge Paul's entrance to the scene. Paul looked at Miz, slightly unsure on whether or not he should speak. He finally decided to go with his instinct, which is to well, speak.
Paul Heyman: Miz isn't this great? Everywhere we go- we bring the party to us. Boston, Massachusetts. Beantown. Here we are at a hotel, and just the mere rumor, the mere presence, the mere POSSIBILITY that the EBWF Champion would be staying at this hotel- has led to the ultimate HOTEL bash, with ALL of these people. Just hoping, wishing, PRAYING, that they may have a chance to rub elbows with greatness. That they may have A CHANCE to be able to say that they once attended the same party, as the BEST wrestler in the HISTORY of the business. That they attended the same gathering as the GREATEST OF THE GREAT- CREAM OF THE CROP- SUPEREST OF SUPERSTARS- CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS- your FAVORITE WRESTLER'S FAVORITE WRESTLER - the FIVE TIME.. and CURRENT EBWF CHAMPION.. THE MIZ.
Miz slightly moved his head to the side towards Heyman but still didn't look directly at him. He began to speak in a low tone, but gained momentum as he progressed.
The Miz: What a thrill for them. You see Paul, what you know, and what I know, is that there are few people in this life.. that have the amount of celebrity that no matter where they are.. or what they're doing.. that's the place to be.. and that's the thing to do. There are few people that reach a status of fame.. that no matter if it's the Grammy's , The Oscar's, or if it's some random poorly put together ballroom party at a hotel.. there are so few people that if THEY are there.. then that EVENT is INSTANTLY better.. it's INSTANTLY cool.. it's INSTANTLY the must be at event of the year. As I look out into this party.. I see people with hope. I see people that want to kick back, relax and have fun. I see people that are clearly trying to mask some of their problems with that same fun. I see a lot of people just in search of something to believe in. I think the reason why there's so many people here tonight.. is because I have a LIFE that people STRIVE for.. but could never and will never achieve, Being in the same building as me.. at the same EVENT as me.. is the closest any of these people will get to LIVING like me.. and I think they know that.. and that's why this place has filled up this fast. It's NO different in the ring, Paul. If I'm in the match.. it's a match worth watching.. it's instantly better.. it's INSTANTLY cool.. it's INSTANTLY a match of the year contender. Or at least it would be if the EBWF could give me an opponent that had even the slightest chance of being competitive. Someone once said that Shawn Michaels could have a match with a broom stick and make it entertaining. I obviously have more talent than Shawn and possess that same quality, only I'm much better. So I will still find a way to captivate an audience.. even though my opponents lately.. the likes of Cameron Grimes and on Monday- Tomasso Ciampa.. are very.. VERY underwhelming to say the least. When Miz is in the match.. eyes are glued to it.. and not just to gawk at Tomasso's "To Catch a Predator" beard. They are glued to it because they recognize.. that GREATNESS PERSONIFIED is participating.. and it's a level of ELITE that they'll tell their children.. and their childrens children about it some day. The Miz is someone that when you watch him.. when you experience him.. when you feel his aura.. you know you're witnessing something that you'll NEVER forget. You know you're witnessing something that is ABSOLUTELY TIMELESS. Tomasso Ciampa.. isn an ABSOLUTE PEE-ON.. and he's going to get decimated at Warfare.. but I can tell you right now he's excited. He's excited because all eyes are going to be on him on Monday. He knows that because he's "at the same party" as The Miz- that there is NO other "party" that is going to be looked at, or enjoyed more than ours. The problem is.. he's going head to head with the GOAT.. and when you attend the party in that capacity.. well.. you're at the party.. but you're the freaking Pinata and I'm looking to beat you into oblivion.. and I won't even need a bat, nor will I eat the candy. I wasn't just born with this body.
Paul smiled maniacally as Miz talked. He chimed in when Miz stopped.
Paul Heyman: It's just another pathetic example of someone who CLEARLY is trying SO hard to have a different look, a different feel to him, a different VIBE.. to hopefully stand out and get noticed. THE PROBLEM.. is that there's a lot of guys like that in the business.. and good old Wesley seems to be SERVING all of them up to you, one by one.. WEEK BY WEEK, and expecting this new young "TALENT" to still be there in the morning.. having survived.. to the point where they can talk about what happened. What people do NOT seem to get.. is that you aren't here to launch anyones career.. you're not here to smile and wave.. to sell merchandise to children. What you're here for MIZ.. is to MAKE AN EXAMPLE.. to SEND A MESSAGE.. to ALERT EVERY SINGLE PERSON.. who may have illusions of grandure.. that you aren't a force to be reckoned with.. but instead.. that you are THE FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. Each and every time, you are booked against absolute stiffs, NOBODIES.. it's a chance to walk down that ramp..and embarrass an oppononent to the point where they barely even want to continue in the business. I see Ciampa.. being NO DIFFERENT.
The Miz smirked.
The Miz: Paul- if the EBWF hasn't gotten that message loud and clear already.. they are never going to get it. Normally I'd agree with you, and I'd say that I'm going to use Ciampa as a way to make a statement. However, after I beat him on Monday the only statement everyone is going to be making is "Miz beat Ciampa.. Duh." Where's the intrigue? Where's the challenge? Where's the motivation? It would be harder to shave that possum off of Tomasso's face then it is going to be to beat him in this match. The fact is Paul.. I don't need to make a statement.. because I've ALREADY MADE THAT STATEMENT. I've made it in the ring.. every single time I step in it.. that I'm UNBEATABLE.. UNSTOPPABLE.. ON.. A DIFFERENT.. FREAKING.. LEVEL.. than every other person in this company.. PAST. PRESENT. AND FUTURE. A win over Tomasso Ciampa.. will literally not move the needle at all. It's expected.. it's a certainty. DEATH. TAXES. and MIZ will NEVER LOSE TO TOMASSO CIAMPA. Those are the things you can count on.. in this crazy world. I will show up Monday Paul, but not because I'm trying to prove anything. I have ALREADY proved EVERYTHING that there is to prove. A victory over a god damn peasant like Ciampa.. is not going to rise my stock in the slightest.. so what's driving me? What's DRIVING me.. is that I just LOVE to be Superior to everyone I step in the ring with. Wrestling is fun for me.. because I'm SO MUCH BETTER AT IT.. than every single other human being living. So whether I'm facing someone with half a clue.. like Randy Orton.. or I'm facing a jamoak a doke milkshake.. like Tomasso Ciampa. I LOVE getting in the ring.. and just being that MUCH SUPERIOR than everyone I face. The only person I'm going to be competing with on Monday is myself. How dominant can I be? How BAD will I hurt this guy? How long do I feel like letting him stay in the match? How much pain can I inflict on this poor bastard? These are the questions that will be running through my mind during this SURE TO BE SHITSHOW of a match. Tomasso, I know you haven't done much of anything around here.. and I'm sorry that god obviously didn't care to give you any hope, any talent, any ANYTHING.. and I'm sorry that you got matched up with someone that you not only can't beat.. but that is going to STRAIGHT UP HUMILIATE YOU.. in front of the entire world. Hash Tag FACTS.
Paul nodded furiously.
Paul Heyman: Oh what a sweet sight that is going to be. The thing that irks me, Miz, is the lack of RESPECT that you still seem to be getting from the locker-room. Call it jealously, call it bitterness.. call it whatever you want to.. BUT these absolutely ass clowns of opponents like Tomasso.. are literally looking at this match.. as if they can win it.. and that's..
He laughed as he spoke.
Paul Heyman: Well I mean it's just downright ridiculous is what it its.
The Miz looked troubled by Heyman's comments.
The Miz: You really think I care about that? I want these guys to get excited. I want them to have confidence. I want them to think they can win.. you know why, Paul?
Paul Heyman: Tell me why, Champ.
The Miz: I want them to feel this way, because it is one of the most satisfying feelings in the world.. when you take someone FULL of HOPE.. FULL of aspirations, FULL of confidence.. and you beat them into the REALIZATION.. that they have ABSOLUTELY.. POSITIVELY... NO BUSINESS.. being in the ring with you. The look of panic.. the look of ANXIETY.. that is going to pop onto Tomasso's face on Monday.. is enough for me to be really excited about this match. I take great PRIDE and PLEASURE.. in REMINDING.. absolutely scrub a dub dub's .. where they stand in this company. I take great PRIDE and PLEASURE.. in reminding people of who they truly are. Tomasso Ciampa.. is a wrestler.. he's an employee in the EBWF.. but much like EVERY OTHER EMPLOYEE of the EBWF.. he's a wrestler.. who will not.. but more importantly.. CAN NOT.. BEAT. ME.
BECAUSE I'M THE MIZ..
AND I'M
AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Heyman smiled.
Paul Heyman: Now come on, champ. Let's go get a drink and make these people's worlds.
Heyman stood up to go to the bar. Miz remained seated, distant. Until he looked dead into the camera and held the EBWF CHAMPIONSHIP UP. Heyman clapped and smiled sadistically at what Miz had become. The scene faded to black.
