OOC: Just a short one as this match is being storylined :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been a rough couple of weeks for Leva Bates. Two weeks ago on Warfare, she had lost to Winter after being DDTed on the exposed concrete at ringside. One week later, the Women's Champion Raquel Diaz had hit her in the head with the Women's Championship. Quite understandably, having taken two hard blows to the head in successive weeks, Leva had been asked to take concussion tests by EBWF's medical team. She was concerned, though - if the tests showed she did have a concussion, her match at Christmas Eve of Destruction would surely be postponed. Having taken all the required tests, Leva was waiting anxiously for the results.
As Leva prayed a silent prayer that the tests would come back negative, one of EBWF's medical staff, Dr Ramirez, entered the room.
Dr Ramirez: Good news, Ms Bates. The tests are all negative. You're cleared for in ring competition.
Leva breathed a sigh of relief, thanked the doctor and left the medical room. As she walked out, EBWF's newest backstage interviewer, Alex Marvez, was standing by.
Alex Marvez: Hi Leva. I've just been informed that next week on Warfare - the final EBWF show before Christmas Eve of Destruction - you will be going one on one with Kris Statander. What are your thoughts on taking on the "Galaxy's Greatest Alien"?
Leva Bates: You know, Alex, it's funny. I've just had to undergo tests to make sure I'm not concussed after what's happened the last couple of weeks... thankfully, I've been cleared, but how are we allowing Kris Statlander to compete without undergoing a serious psychiatric evaluation? How are any of Paul London and his band of oddities cleared for action? You've got a guy who says he's a time traveler, a guy who claims to be a dinosaur, and a woman who is apparently from outer space? Hell, Jungle Boy should have his head checked for being willing to associate himself with them. Now credit where credit's true, Kris is a great athlete, regardless of where she's from. But for me, she's just a pitstop. My focus is on Raquel Diaz, and regaining some momentum after losing to Winter. I'm not going to take Kris Statlander for granted, but every woman on the roster knows that I am the future of EBWF's women division. I'm going to beat Kris, and then at Christmas Eve of Destruction, I'm taking Raquel's title.
Leva walked away from Alex Marvez, bringing the interview to a close.
