Lack of Real Competition

Post by A.J »

The King of the Ring tournament had reached the Quarter Finals with the winners going on to the Total Supremacy pay-per-view for the Semi Finals and Finals. Christian Cage was stranger to being in this position, in fact last year he made it all the way to the Finals where he fell to Xavier Woods. This year the Instant Classic looked to not only make it back to the Finals but also win the whole tournament and become the number one contender to the EBWF World title at Gateway to Glory. Tonight in the Quarter Finals Christian would go one on one with Max Caster.

The scene opened backstage where Christian Cage was seen sitting in a chair in front of a few production crates. Christian was wearing jeans and his Heart Breaker T-shirt.

Christian Cage: You know one thing that I’ve noticed about this years King of the Ring tournament is the severe lack of real competition, you see a few weeks ago I faced Bray Wyatt in the First Round a guy who dresses and acts like Mr. Rogers and occasionally dresses like a lost member of the band Slipknot. After defeating Bray I went on to the Second Round and faced Powerhouse Hobbs of the…dWo.

Christian cringed as he uttered those letters.

Christian Cage: And to no one’s surprise I beat the jockhead from the worst named group in EBWF today and now tonight in the Quarter Finals I face Max Caster.

Christian paused for a few moments before he started chuckling.

Christian Cage: You have got to be kidding me, how did this guy make it this fair in the tournament? Oh that’s right he beat Eddie Guerrero’s other kid and a scarf wearing dweeb..makes sense I guess. Well Max, your journey to the crown stops tonight because you go one on one with a real competitor, tonight you go one on one with a real wrestler, tonight you go one on one with a real legend in this business, the Instant Classic Christian Cage. Max it may surprise to learn that I actually did some research on you and I found out some interesting things like the fact that your father was once a football player and even made it to the NFL and had a successful career with a Super Bowl win under his belt. Must have been cool Max growing up with a famous father..you know it reminds me of another loser on the EBWF roster.

Christian smirked

Christian Cage: But unlike that idiot your father never did a damn thing in this business and these days no one gives a shit about him. Max I also learned where you trained to become a wrestler and that place was Create A Pro, it all makes sense now why you suck so bad it’s because you were trained by a freaking jobber whose claim to fame is that he had a massive losing streak.

Christian shook his head

Christian Cage: Max tonight you are going to go out there in front of all those morons and you are going do your little Vanilla Ice cosplay routine, you are then going to “scissor” your dumbass geek friend, and then the Instant Classic is going to come out and he is going to out wrestle you and beat the shit out of you in front of the world then when it’s all said and done the Instant Classic is going on to win the tournament while your dreams are shattered, sorry I have to do this but..,

Christian pointed to his shirt.

Christian Cage: Breaking hearts is kinda my thing and look when you fail tonight maybe you can call the coke head in Jacksonville and ask for your old job back.

Christian laughed and left the area as the scene faded to black.
