The scene opened backstage at Warfare, where Chris Jericho was standing outside of his locker room. The crowd's cheers from the Fargodome could be heard in the background as Jericho appeared on screen. After going old school with his attire last week, this week Jericho was back to normal; he was wearing his iconic black and red leather jacket. Jericho had a confident grin on his face, and after waiting for the cheers of the crowd to die down, he began to speak.
Chris Jericho: Good evening, North Dakota, and greetings to the millions of EBWF fans watching around the world! Last week in Winnipeg, where I grew up, I went head-to-head with Seth Rollins. And what a contest it was. Rollins brought everything he had, and I’ll give him credit – he pushed me to my limits. But when the dust settled, it was clear: I’m still the best in the world at what I do, and to use that cliché phrase all the wrestling fans love... I’ve still got it, baybay!
The crowd erupted into cheers.
Chris Jericho: Now, let’s talk about tonight. My opponent is Richard Holliday, aka Dick Vacation. The man who advanced to the quarter finals because Edge decided not to show up. Holliday, you should count yourself lucky that you get to put a win over a legend like Edge on your record. Because we all know that if Edge had shown up, he’d have kicked your ass all over that ring. And instead of facing you tonight, I’d be in a contest between two of the greatest Canadian wrestlers of all time. But your luck ends tonight, Holliday. You see, it’s easy to think you’re on top of the world when you didn’t have to break a sweat to advance. But you’re stepping into the ring with Chris Jericho, the man who has seen and done it all. And I’m going to show you just how much you’re out of your league.
Jericho's tone became more intense, his eyes narrowing.
Chris Jericho: Tonight, I’m not just going to beat you, Holliday. I’m going to hurt you. And there is nothing – nothing – that anyone can do about it. Not your Dynasty leader MJF, not anyone else from Dynasty, nor your lawyer-slash-father.
The crowd roared in approval, clearly behind Jericho.
Chris Jericho: You’re going to learn, just like Rollins did, that Chris Jericho is still a larger than life living legend. And after tonight, when I advance to the semi-finals, everyone will remember why you just don’t mess with Y2J.
Jericho stared intently, his gaze fixed on the camera. The scene faded to black as the crowd's chants of "Y2J" filled the arena.
