Renee Young was backstage with Drew, EBWF's resident senior cameraman. The camera followed Renee as she approached Damian Priest, who was getting loose in the backstage area, flanked by Paul Heyman.

Renee Young: Hi Damian, I was hoping to get your thoughts on your match tonight, which is a ladder match where the winner could potentially walk away with the Gateway Championship.

Damian opened his mouth to speak, but Paul put his hand over the microphone and pulled it towards him. Damian's lips curled into a smirk as he continued to roll his shoulders and get loose.

Paul Heyman: It should be quite obvious what my client's thoughts are, Renee. Ever since my client was robbed of his EBWF World Championship by CM Punk, he has been disrespected and his character has been assassinated time and time again. May I remind you that only a few short months ago, Damian Priest was on the precipice of shattering the record for the longest EBWF World Championship reign...ever. And once CM Punk became Wes Ikeda's golden boy, my client just falls by the wayside. All the while his personal boy the Miz magically gets the rocket strapped to his back. It's a felony to leave a talent like Damian Priest on the side lines. And yes, my client was unsuccessful in the King of the Ring tournament against the Miz. But guess what? That just makes him 2-1 against the Miz. Damian Priest accomplished more in his short time than people can dream of in their entire career. But we're back to the Miz fighting for the top spot, who's about as exciting as pocket sand.

Damian gently pulled the mic back towards him, raising his eyebrow at Paul with a subtle smirk and mouthing the words "pocket sand?" quietly. He looked over at Renee.

Damian Priest: What my manager is trying to say, is that I've had one of the hottest debuts in EBWF history. And yeah, I took a couple Ls. Punk beat me, Miz beat me. But like Paul said, I got more wins on Miz than he's got on me. Which brings me to the ladder match tonight. The Gateway Championship is on the line, and it'll be up there with the Breakout Championship.

Damian shrugged.

Damian Priest: I gotta tell you. I think I've already got that breakout star title in the bag, don't you? Nah, my goal is that Gateway Championship. Nothing is guaranteed in this life, Renee. You never know when my number will be called again. But if I win that Gateway Championship belt? I can punch my own ticket. I make the rules, and if I gotta plow through MJF, Aiden English, Adam Cole, and Christian Cage to do it, I'm completely fine bringing the punishment. My career has been an a lotta ups and and a lotta downs, Renee. There have been times when I didn't know if I was ever gonna make it. But I did. I put in that work, I focused on the grind, and I came out on top. I took EBWF over. And the moment I down shifted, fate kicked me in the ass. So that was my wake up call. I am not gonna pass by another opportunity to reclaim my spot. I'm taking this one.

Damian walked off, leaving Paul with Renee. He gave her that trademark Paul Heyman grin.

Paul Heyman: And that's not a prediction, Renee. That's...a spoiler.

Paul walked off as well, leaving Renee as the promo cut to the EBWF logo in the corner.
