The crowd was electric at EBWF Access and Jackie Redmond stood inside a wrestling ring that was set up in the center of the expo center with the EBWF World Champion CM Punk. The video of The Miz’s challenge had just played for the audience and a “CM Punk” chant had gone up.
Jackie Redmond: Punk, you’ve heard the challenge from The Miz…
CM Punk: He’s not wrong, Jackie. When I saw that there was no world title defense at Fanniversary, it did kind of leave me scratching my head. The bit about Ikeda pressing send on the booking email before he finished writing it was kind of funny.
Jackie Redmond: So, does that mean you plan to accept the challenge?
CM Punk: If anyone deserves a shot at this championship it’s Matthew Riddle. He did pin me clean on Warfare, but I guess Miz is the one calling the shots. Did they just burn down a fucking RV? People say I’m dramatic.
That drew a laugh from the crowd.
CM Punk: I’ll tell you what, Miz. You’ve got yourself a match, because there’s absolutely no way I’m missing my first Fanniversary back with these EBWF fans. And there’s no way I’m losing to a clown like you on the biggest stage of the year. YOU’RE ON. [/color]
The CM Punk chant grew louder, and Cult of Personality began playing over the PA system. Punk played to the fans who all knew an intense match was sure to take place in less than 24 hours.
