Since Austin Gunn's return at Christmas Eve of Destruction, very little has been talked about it in the "Internet Wrestling Community". However, EBWF's creative team have worked overtime to get his name and image back out in the universe, including posting his short return promo on all of the company's social media. Sadly, the numbers haven't been great and they don't seem to be trending better over time. Austin, for his part, has also appeared on a number of prominent wrestling podcasts attempting to jump start his newest career choice. One clip of him on Insight with Chris Van Vliet has actually gotten some traction on short form social media.

Chris and Austin are sitting in the typical format of the show, slightly facing the camera and opposite of one another. Austin is wearing a denim jacket and has black aviator style sunglasses pushed up onto his head. They're both wearing smiles at the start of the clip, just coming off a joking answer by Austin.

So, you've just made your return to wrestling in EBWF. A company that you've worked with before to limited success. And, I understand that it's just you making this move. Why set out alone away from the rest of the Gunn Club.

I'd honestly love to tell you that it was to make a name for myself without my father and brother. But at this point I don't think there is any way that I'm going to show up anywhere and not have my father's role in my career brought up. There's just no way around it when you're a second generation wrestler. No matter what I do or what I accomplish, people are always going to look at me as the Son of Gunn. That's a nice way of saying that while I'll never be out of my father's shadow it doesn't mean I want to put away creating my own light. That was the point of Colten and I coming to EBWF several years ago. We wanted to break from our role as Billy's kids to do something on our own, with creative plans that don't boil down into family drama. And, I've spent the bulk of my career as a tag team specialist. There's nothing wrong with it, some of the greatest of all time are tag team guys but I'm ready to go solo and make the Austin Gunn name mean something.

It sounds like you've got a lot to prove. What does a career trajectory in EBWF look like as a singles wrestler?
-=-AUSTIN GUNN-=-
There's a lot of people you'll have to ask for that answer. At the end of the day I'm going to go to the ring, attempt to connect with the crowd and make the best of every opportunity I'm handed. I'm not sure if you'll see me in the title picture this year, I wouldn't turn it down, but that's the nature of this business. In any given company you only have so many titles to go around to a typically massive roster. You can't wait to be champion to become a household name, you've got to forge that connection with the crowd and make them love you with or without a chunk of gold around your waist. That's what I'll be aiming to do as the Lone Gunn of EBWF, get the fans on my side and see if that doesn't just rocket me to the moon.
