A Waste of My Time.

Post by Cory »

Daniel Bryan stared at the camera intently. He ran his fingers across his scalp.

Daniel Bryan: You know what I'm absolutely tired of? I am tired of being put into these filler matches all the time. My name is Daniel Bryan, and I am a singles wrestler. I am one of the best singles wrestlers in the HISTORY of wrestling.

He stroked his beard, tilting his neck and popping it.

Daniel Bryan: My place is at the end of the show, against the BEST in this company. THAT is where I spend my time in the ring. Not in Fatal Fourways, Tag Team Invitationals, or any other ridiculous thing that the people of the EBWF think up. Why is it that I have to put up with it? It's not FAIR. Wade Barrett? I've already beaten him. His debut match against my debut match and I'm the one that came out on top, because that's how I wrestle. One on one, in the traditional style. That's how Daniel Bryan shines. I put him down, I got him in the LeBell lock, and he tapped. That's how every match should go.

He looked off to the side, exhaling in an agitated huff.

Daniel Bryan: I'm a wrestler, not a circus freak. I don't do... specialty matches for fun, or fans delight. That's not how I'm wired. Maybe that's how Austin Aries is wired, because he's a self-centered, egotistical, overbearing side show act. Put that man in the ring with sailor's cap and a can of spinach, and he'd sing the Popeye song if you paid him. What ever happened to wrestling purity? Whatever happened to talking with your fists? Austin Aries is going to get a dose of that on Warfare, when I shut him up and make him talk with his hands. You know what he's going to say with them? I GIVE UP.

Bryan nodded to himself.

Daniel Bryan: Tell you what's gonna happen. I'm gonna go in there, and I am going to hurt someone. I don't even care if I win or lose, because my specialty is wrestling, not four way dances. Maybe I'll hurt Christian. After all, he has the gall to go out there and tell me that I've paid my dues? Excuse me, Christian? I've... paid... my dues?! Who in the HELL do you think you are to tell me that I've paid my dues? You think you're some cagey veteran legend or something so you can look down on me from on high and vindicate my career? Like you were there when I shed blood, sweat, tears, broke bones and put my body on the line every night? You have the nerve to look all approvingly on me? Well thank you, Christian. Thank you for making my career make so much sense. A weight has fallen off my shoulders. Just be careful that you don't find yourself in the ring alone with me, because I guarantee you I've got a rolodex full of submission moves that I can use to really prove to you how much I've... paid my dues.

He sneered.

Daniel Bryan: Tell you what, if you think for one second that like the fact that I'm in this waste of a timeslot on Warfare, then you're sadly mistaken. But if you see how angry I am about this, and you're worried that I might take one of your fan favorites, lock them in the LeBell lock, and rip their damn shoulder out of its socket, I say this to you.

Daniel stood up and the camera zoomed in on his face.

Daniel Bryan: YES! YES! YES!

Bryan put his palm on the camera lens and shoved it back, the camera tumbled to the ground and the feed went to black.

Quick, simple and effective. A good read here and I really could imagine Bryan saying this, especially the parts about him not even needing to wrestle in this match to prove anything. The character is down but things like "he sneered" aren't even worth writing in my opinion, I'm a sucker for more description between speech though. Best o' luck in your match :)
