Hulkamania has come to the EBWF...to die

Post by Hollywood Hulk Hogan »

*Its a Jammed pack crowd here in the All-State Arena. Latley, the attendance of the EBWF house shows have been, you could say "less than stellar". But ever since the announcement of Hollywood having inked a long term deal with the 11 year old Sports Entertainment Organization, attendance has been picking up. The fact remains that Hogan still can draw a crowd, even when he hasnt even stepped foot inside of an EBWF ring. Latley, social media has been blowing up with news of Hogan Signing. Not many apprecriate the fact that he has came to the EBWF, and maybe for good reason. This "Old Fogie" that just won't die is here to prove a point, that Legends are like a fine win, they get better with Age*

Michael Cole: Ladies and Gentlemen, we welcome you to what promises to be a very special show here in the All-State Arena here in the Windy city of Chicago Illinois!

*The crowd errupts at the mention of their city of Chicago, Illinois. Cheap hometown pops. Where's Mick Foley when ya need him*

Michael Cole: Now alot has gone on this past week. Destiny proved to be a pay-per-view for the ages. We have seen the crowning of new champions, and some matches that are sure to be remembered for years to come. But ever since the announcement of the signing of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, twitter has been in a frenzy. It seems as if Hollywood Hulk Hogans entrance into the EBWF has not been completlety an open armed welcome. Some superstars have taken to the social media outlet to vent their frustrations, and some have taken to Twitter simply to voice their opinion on the aging superstar. Tonight, for the first time ever, Hollywood Hulk Hogan will make his EBWF in ring debut, and in just a few moments, he will be here to answer, what I believe is the questions on all of our minds: Why 1 more run? So ladies and Gentlemen, without further delay, here is the man of the Hour, Hollywood Hulk Hogan!!!

*The crowd goes into a frenzy. Hogan might not be a fan favorite, but as with any legend, the first appearence in a new company is always met with thunderous applause and deafening cheers. The familar guitar rift fills the arena, but not the one signifying the return of "A Real American". Instead, we get a rift all to familar and associated with the darker days of Hulkamania...the days where when Hogan came out to the ring, a gang of talent followed suit. Voodoo child by Jimi Hendrix had become almost as legendary of a song as the man making his entrance. But on this night, it wasn't the music in the air being blasted throughout the arena that made the crowd pop. Tonight, the Windy City has blown up an icon from the past. As smoke fills the entrance way, Hollywood Hogan walks through the curtain, playing the air guitar like it was going out of style. Clad in what could only be described in his old "nWo" attore he came to the ring wearing his black leather boots with the blue smoke with images of the Hulkster on the sides. Wearing his traditional black and white "HOLLYWOOD" inscribed weight lifting belt and black and white bandana, he poses on the ramp and flexes his 24" pythons for the crowd. He makes his way down the isle, and half way down he pauses. The crowd starts a "Hogan, Hogan, Hogan" chant as he puts his hand to his ear. He points to the camera:

Hogan: Hollywood is back brother! This is my house!

*hogan lets out a laugh. Just then, a Fan holding a sign that reads "Hulkamania 4-life" stretches across the fan barrier. Hogan grabs the green sign with black lettering and holds it up to the camera. Just as quick as he makes the fans night by acknowledging the sign, he rips it in 2 and throws it down proclaiming:

Hogan: Hulkamania is dead...Hollywood 4-Life!

*The Middle finger is definatley not a sign of appreciation as it is so bluntly flashed towards the Hulkster. Not one to be phased, Hogan slowly makes his way to the ring. Walking up the steps, Hogan steps in between the 2nd and 3rd ropes to set foot into the EBWF ring for the first time ever. The legendary grappler rips his shirt in 2 and flexes once more for the crowd. Michael Cole is standing by to get a word.
Image
Michael Cole: Hollywood Hulk Hogan, ladies and gentlemen, has arrived to the EBWF!! Hogan, we all want to know...Why now? Why the EBWF?

*Hogan pauses next to Cole. The fans continue to chant his name even after the fact that he disrespected the fan at ringside. Hogan soaks it all in for a moment. He grabs a microphone of his own from the Time Keeper standing at ringside.*

Hogan: Michael Cole, its a new day brother. Hollywood is back in business

*Fans errupt...but not to Hollywoods amusement*

Hogan: ya know, if these fans could shut their mouths for a few minutes then maybe I could get a few things out in the open brother. First off, and like i said, Hollywood is back. The only thing is, he isn't back for these fans. He isn't back to play anyones tune but his own. Ya know something, when I was taking my time off from the ring, when I was laid up in bed with a bum knee and back surgery, still you people conttinued to slam me in the media. He's too old they said! Oh...My...God...hes on TV again they said! Well for the record, if Hollywood hadnt spent his time being a Mega Power, or Slamming Andre, or chasing after Sting in the rafters, then cable television wouldnt be at the peak that its at now. They don't call me "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan just for shits and giggles brother. I made mainstream television what it is today. I revolutionized reality television, and I took a struggling nashville indy promotion and brought it up to the big leagues. Hollywood is the man with the plan brother.

*Hogan pauses. The cheers are still present, although begginning to be over shadowed by boos. Just as Hogan goes to speak, a soda bottle comes sailing through the air. Hogan swats it away and lunges towards the ropes, suddenly fueld with rage at the sign of disrespect*

Hogan: THATS exactly why i'm not here for you. You fans can Kiss hollywoods ass. You wanna pelt me with your trash and garbage, go ahead and fill this ring brother. My tax dollars pay the salaries of people like you to come in here and clean up all this crap dude!

*Trash is quickly filling the ring. Hogan backs up into the far turnbuckle away from the camera. With his hand to his chin, he puts his head down and grins. They are playing into the palm of his hands*

Michael Cole:Is this what youi want Hogan? You have proclaimed 1 last run, but in less than 5 minutes you have turned the entire audience against you..

Hogan:Michael Cole, you should know after being in the business for as long as you have, that the audience is like feeding the goats at the zoo. You feed 1, get all their attention. You pull your hand back, and thats when they post the "Don't feed the Animals" sign. And that's all you are, a bunch of filthy, stinking animals. And thats why, I don't play second fiddle to anyone. I don't answer to the fans, I don't answer to twitter, the only person I answer to Brother is the big dude upstairs.

Michael Cole: You have a match against Rey Mysterio and the Big Show this comming Monday in your' debut match here in the EBWF...and a high profile match it is. 2 of the greats in our busin...

Hogan:Greats? You mean to tell me people like Mysterio...people like the Big Show are considered great? Back when I was pulling in 90,000 fans at the toronto sky dome they were begging mommy and daddy to change the channel so they could watch Hollywood on TV. I was battling the likes of Flair, Luger, and Sting when they were battling hair in funny places and acne. Don't you EVER MICHAEL COLE, include them in the same light as Hollywood. I layed the foundation for them to just stroll right in and collect a paycheck. They should be thanking me. Everytime Hollywood has had to get surgery..that just let room for another joke of a superstar to rise up and try to steal Hollywoods thunder. Well, it's time for Hollywood to take that lightining bolt back and shove it up someones ass brother. Hahahah!

Michael Cole: You've proven you are little concerned about your match on Monday. In my opinion those 2 athletes should never be underestimated..

Hogan: And you know what they say about Opinions cole...

Michael cole: I think we all do Hulk...

Hogan:That's Hollywood to you brother

*Hogan pokes the chest of Michael Cole. Cole puts his head down for a moment and backs off. How embarassing. Infront of thousands no less*

Michael Cole: So is that it? Are you gonna come in here and just bully everyone..

Hogan: I'm not here to bully anyone Michael Cole, but if you wanna hike up your skirt, and run with your tail behind your legs, you know where the doors at. I'm here for 1 reason and 1 reason only..to take my rightful spot at the mountain top brother. Obviously the powers that be want me to prove myself able to compete by locking me into the curtain jerker of warzone. Fair enough. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you brother! Hollywood plays at the top of the card, Hollywood battles where only grown men dream about. So take this as an open challenge. This goes to anyone in the back. Anyone in the locker room that thinks they can go 1 on 1 with the biggest ICON in our industry, I am extending an open challenge for the next pay-per-view. If you wanna challenge the mighty Hulk Hogan, ill be in the middle of the ring waiting. Anyone that wants to make a name for themelves, I'll be at the pay-per-view. All I wanna know is, who is man enough? Who here's got the guts to shut Hollywood down brother.

Michael Cole: The Roster here at the EBWF is packed...I don't know if you've noiticed but...
Image
Hogan: Shutup Cole! I don't care about whose on the roster. Have you not heard a single word i've said. I am the man. I am the Icon. I am a reason all these people in the locker room have a job today brother. They're the ones that should be out here in the middle of this ring, begging for a shot at immortality. Why should I have to issue an open challenge? What does Hollywood have to prove? I've already established myself as one of the greatest actors and entertainers of our time. Consider this open challenge a warm up. Consider this the 1 time Hollywood is planning on stepping into the ring to set the naysayers straight. The one time Hollywood is walking into the ring to prove to the world that he is still the man. Because when you're the man, and when you get to be just like Hollywood brother, then everythnig is just...two...Sweeeet!!!

Michael Cole:Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, Hollywood Hulk Hogan has extended an open challenge for the next upcomming Pay-Per-View. Who'se gonna answer the Challenge?

*Hogan exits the ring, walking backwards up the ramp. The cheers are much more silent this time...almost non existent. Hollywoods arrogance is top notch at this point. Hogan looks into the camera and says *Where's AJ brother! C'mon Mr. Styles!". Obviously a reference to their twitter war of words from earlier in the week. The music plays as Hogan dissapears behind the curtain. The guantlet has been thrown down. The Winds of...not change...but rebirth are blowing in the windy city. Hogan has returned*

There's a lot of great character in this RP, and I really do like the Hogan you portray here. I felt like there was a lot of depth to the promo, and I enjoyed reading it. I liked how you incorporated all the stuff that was going on with Twitter. Here's a few minor critiques for you to consider in order to make the RP all the more enjoyable for the reader.

1) Be careful with adding photos, when they're hot linked from Angelfire or Tripod, they just show up as big red x's. To be honest, pictures aren't necessary. They're fine if you want to include them, but more often than not it's better to just set the scene with your words.

2. You really need to watch the spelling and punctuation. There are countless punctuation errors and several random capitalized words, inverted letters and spelling mistakes. I recommend typing your paper in Google Docs or in Pages/Word which has a built in spell checker and can help you when you're typing too fast and start to get the spaghetti fingers.

3. For the sake of continuity, it's probably best to see what city the televised show is booked in, in this case Charleston, South Carolina is over 900 miles from Chicago. It doesn't make much sense to have a house show there 3 days before needing to be in South Carolina - better choices would have been in neighboring states. But this is just a little thing, and I'm a stickler for continuity.

4. Finally, I understand why it hypes your character to write things like this in your RP.
Latley, the attendance of the EBWF house shows have been, you could say "less than stellar". But ever since the announcement of Hollywood having inked a long term deal with the 11 year old Sports Entertainment Organization, attendance has been picking up.
But, at the same time, it's contradictory to what other members of the fed have been writing and doesn't it sort of make it look like your character came to some miserable, unpopular place? Just something to think about.

Over all, good stuff, and definitely shows you're going to have an impressive win/loss record here. Good Luck!

Alright, I'll say it - I have seen literally DOZENS of people take on Hogan in my years here. Hands down, you're the first person to actually do a good job of it. Now in real life, I may not like Hogan, but good golly, you have captured my interest sir. A lot of people come and go from EBWF, a precious few stick around - it is my sincere hope, you're one of those that sticks.

I agree, I thought you put our some good stuff this week. I’m changing characters (back to the character I was when I was originally in the fed, under a different board name of course) but the reason I RP’d anyway was because I didn’t want your effort to go without a response RP. Good work!

The feedback that everyone gives around here is awesome, it’s not at that level everywhere.
