(1, 2, 3! It's amazing how three simple numbers can mean a varying amount to a variety of people in various circumstances. For Santino Marella it meant vindication, retribution, satisfaction. Those three numbers proved to Santino he had something. Something he thought he lost, or perhaps never had. It proves he can hold his own, and perhaps achieve what he thought not possible...Ultimately it proved that he was too much for Wade Barrett to handle. Santino disposed of Barrett relatively easily. Santino is not one for being cocky, at least not lately after his disastrous debut. However, whichever way you slice it, Santino wiped the floor with Barrett. We can only hope this doesn't go to his head, and he continues with this momentum. His next match could potentially be his toughest yet...)
(The scene opens just in time to catch those three brilliant numbers, 1, 2, 3! With the thunderous background noise of the thousands upon thousands of fans cheering, Santino stands tall. Stands as the victor over Barrets motionless body after being hit by a DDT. Santino goes to each turnbuckle in turn and climbs to the top, taking in the glorious rapture of applause. For this is the first time in EBWF that Santino has experienced a victory. So he makes sure to milk it for all it's worth. In the end some of the EBWF officials have to prompt Santino to head backstage as the next match is ready. He jumps down from the turn buckle and slides under the bottom rope, exiting the ring. He makes his way up the ramp with a skip in his step)
(Once backstage Santino passes various officials and wrestlers, most giving him a nod, a few a generously clap in appreciation of his victory. All aiding in Santinos pride. Before he makes it to his locker, he gets a shock)
Seth Price: Congratulations Mr Marella!
(Santino turns round sharply, vaguely remembering the voice)
Santino: Seth!!! But I thought you sai...
Seth Price: I know what I said. But I was a fool, just lying to myself. I never really left wrestling, just thought I did. And what better way to get back, than to train you to win the rumble!!!
(Santinos jaw visibly drops. For a moment he looks totally stunned, not moving a muscle. Then suddenly it sinks in and he gives Seth a huge hug)
Seth Price: Ah dude! Your all sweaty!
Santino: This is champions sweat!
Seth Price: It's still sweat, and it's still f*cking disgusting! Go shower, then we'll talk!
(Santino rushes off to grab a shower. The next time we see the two men, it's in the very same cafe they first met. It's the day after Warfare and Santino looks a little worse for wear. His bruises and cuts are now more visible. He has a black eye, and looks extremely hungover)
Seth Price: Dude, what time did you get in?
Santino: About an hour ago!
(Santino gives Seth a sly wink. It's clear he was out on the town the entire night, celebrating his first EBWF victory. Whether he was alone or not, is another matter...)
Seth Price: Well I hope you've got it out of your system, because that's your first and last victory session!
(Santinos expression is that of pure disappoint)
Seth Price: I'm serious. If you want to win the rumble, and then ultimately the world championship, you have to knuckle down and put the work in! Sure you've got your first win, and your on a high and that's fair enough. But if your going to get to the top, you're going to have many more wins! You think you can get this wasted every time??
(Santino simply nods his head. He is relatively new to the world of wrestling. He assumed there would be more partying and drinking and divas. He is learning some home truths in the world of wrestling, and he is not entirely happy about it)
Seth Price: Well you can't! And I need to know right now if your serious? When I was in ASW and the hardcore champion, I had a title defence every single week. You think I went out drinking after every win? I could barely walk after each match, and often I wasn't even fully healed for the next. 50% of my matches I fought injured! You think that's even possible hungover?
(Santino looks back at Seth blankly)
Seth Price: Am I wasting my time Santino? Are you willing to put in the work? And listen to everything I say?
Santino: NO!!!
Seth Price: What?
Santino: You're not wasting your time! I understand I cannot go crazy all the time! I guess I just needed it last night because of the shit start I've had at EBWF. But that's all in the past now. Although its been only two weeks, I have changed! I know what I want, and I'm willing to work to get there! I'm so glad you've joined me, and I know we can do it!
Seth Price: Well let's not get carried away. But I can assure you, you put the work in, you will see some serious results! I watched your match against Wade Barrett. First match I've seen in years. And you impressed me.
(Santino smiles smugly)
Seth Price: Not only did you fight with real passion, your whole attitude was to win. I could tell from the start you were going to win that match. You could see it in your eyes, you really wanted it! That drive and passion, given the right training, will take you far! That is what we must focus on! Your passion! I haven't ever seen a wrestler who wants it as much as you do!
Santino: It's true! I do want it! More than anything!
Seth Price: Your first obstacle is Zack Ryder! He will be your toughest opponent to date. He is the current EWBF breakout champion. He holds gold, he knows what it takes to win and has been around the block.
Santino: You've done your research!
Seth Price: We BOTH have to do our research! To beat your opponent you need to know your opponent!
Santino: Wow, your really wise!
Seth Price: Not really, I read it somewhere! But it still holds true!
Santino: Ok. Well perhaps I could get hold of a few of your past matches? That would help, yes?
Seth Price: Yes. We need tapes of everyone. That would help for the rumble also.
Santino: That sounds like a lot of work
(Seth glares at Santino)
Santino: I'm just kidding! I'll get straight on it! Zack Ryder won't know what's hit him!
Seth Price: The whole of EBWF won't know what's hit them!
(The scene fades, leaving both Santino and Seth Price drawing up a battle plan and strategy for their ultimate takeover of EBWF)
A win at last!
