Momentum

Post by Kyle »

OOC: Good luck to everyone, I was hoping to write more but this was all I came up with. I hope you enjoy reading it and if you have any comments or feedback I'd appreciate it.

Scene 1

Life was busy for Ted DiBiase. Not only was he the reigning Path to Glory Champion, but his commitments outside the ring had him constantly on the move. During the week Ted had gone onto Twitter claiming that he had big news and to stay tuned, later he tweeted a message to Wes Ikeda asking to meet with him. Ted never once hinted at the nature of his meeting with Wes or his big announcement. Ted was set to meet with Wes before the Aftermath PPV. Aftermath was the first PPV after Wrestlemania and things were definitely still heating up over the World Heavyweight Championship. The Miz and AJ Styles were at war with each other and Ted's allegiance was clearly with The Miz as he remained a part of the Trilogy. While The Miz was busy with AJ Styles, Ted had much more to worry about. A new contender for his championship had been determined with Jimmy Jacobs being the next person in line for a title shot. But before Ted could face Jimmy Jacobs he was set to face the Silent Assassin, Randy Orton. The two had been involved with each other since Wrestlemania with Ted and The Miz interfering with Orton and becoming a thorn in his side. For Ted this did not all start after Wrestlemania. It had started since before the two were in EBWF back when Ted was a part of the group known as Legacy.

Denver, Colorado was the site of Aftermath and where Ted was currently flying to. After departing from his home in Tampa, Ted was currently flying to Denver and he slumped into his seat. His eyes were closed and he had his iPod turned on and both of his earphones were in. Ted was trying to relax and enjoy a couple of hours off but he was interrupted by someone poking his arm incessantly. Ted opened his eyes to see a kid, no older than 12 poking and jabbing his arm. Ted removed his earphones and stared at the kid with an annoyed expression on his face.

Ted Jr: What do you want?

Kid: You're Ted DiBiase aren't you?

Ted looked at the kid with a blank expression, if he wasn't annoyed before he sure was now.

Ted Jr: No kid, I'm John Cena. Of course I'm Ted DiBiase.

The kid pointed at Ted's face.

Kid: Randy Orton's gonna beat you, didn't you see him destroy Kendrick at Wrestlemania?

Ted let out a small laugh.

Ted Jr: I was busy celebrating my victory over Cody Rhodes. I'm not scared of Orton, I've gone toe to toe with him before and I've come out on the winning end of it.

Kid: Yeah but he's the Viper and had the longest reign as World Champion.

Ted Jr: And when was the last time he was relevant? If he wasn't screwing the boss’s daughter he wouldn't have been in the main event at Wrestlemania. So before you decide to think of a comeback, don't. I don't want to hear a pimply, snot nosed kid's opinion.

Ted pushed the kid who then ran away back to his seat. Ted put his earphones back in and tried to enjoy the rest of the flight.

Scene 2

At Ted's hotel room he had requested that a camera be placed there and upon his arrival Ted was happy to see that there was indeed a camera placed in his room. Ted would be recording a piece for EBWF.net as a treat to people who had ordered Aftermath. Ted positioned the camera so it was facing the chair that was in the hotel room. He set the camera up for a time delay start and sat in the chair. The setting was dark, which definitely suited Ted's emotions. Ted knew that this match would not be a typical match; it would be an all-out brawl. The recording began and Ted was all set.

Ted Jr: Randy Orton. The Silent Assassin. We've had some history and it’s only fitting that we cross paths again. From our time in the WWE where we worked together as Legacy to the beginning of 2010 where I was World Champion and defeated you and Edge to become the Tag Team Champion as well. But the match that I remember most took place at Camp Independence in Iraq. I faced you in a match for the Intercontinental Championship, I talked about momentum then but it didn't matter. I still lost. But now a lot has changed in the 2 years. You became the longest reigning World Champion in history; I faded in and out of the limelight. Since my World Championship reign I never really got back to that high level, but you did. You reached the top and you stayed there. Whether it was because of your own talent or because you were screwing an Ikeda, it doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is that you think you're above everyone. You think you can take months off and then turn up weeks before Wrestlemania and be in the main event sickens me. In Iraq it was momentum that was fuelling me to win, but that wasn't enough. What's fuelling me now is the fact that in those two years I have become a completely different wrestler. I have become a two time Path to Glory Champion, a three time Tag Team Champion and a former World Champion. My credentials are proof of my skill. The fact that I have defended the Path to Glory Championship against former World Champions and Intercontinental Champions and still won shows that I am as good as I say I am. When we face it's not for the title but it doesn't matter to you. You don't care about the title as much as you care about the fight. In the last few weeks you have tried to get the better of me, you have even tried to kick my head off of my shoulders, but all to no avail. You managed to RKO the Miz twice, but I was too smart and I got out of the way. When we go to war, once again I won't be hit with an RKO or be decapitated with a Punt, I'll be putting you on Dream Street and pinning you 1...2...3.

Ted reached to his bag on the ground and took out his Path to Glory Championship. He lifted it up so the camera could see it.

Ted Jr: You see this Orton? This means I am one of the best that EBWF has to offer. You may not care about this but this title shows my superiority over you. You had the Intercontinental championship back in Iraq. That showed your skill. For the last year you walked around, acting like you were above everyone. The fact is that you're not. You took out Kendrick at Wrestlemania; do you think that impresses me? I defeated Kendrick at the previous Wrestlemania and I'm undefeated at Wrestlemania. I've defeated the Kings of Wrestling, Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnolli, I've defeated Brian Kendrick and my latest victim was Cody Rhodes. You remember Cody don't you? Everybody in the WWE said that he was the standout between the two of us, but fast forward several years and look where he is now. His career has been stagnant for years and he's going nowhere. Look at me on the other hand; in three months of joining EBWF I won the World Championship. And I promise you I haven't even peaked yet. Before the year is over I promise you that I will hold more championship gold and have more accolades to my name. You may be the Silent Assassin and the Viper, but I'm not scared. I will defeat you tonight show everybody that Ted DiBiase is the new Viper.

Ted stood up and turned the camera off.

Scene 3

It wasn't too long now before Aftermath was set to begin, Ted DiBiase was ready to go but before his match against Orton he had an interview scheduled with Matt Striker. Standing with Matt Striker, Ted was dressed in his ring attire while Striker was wearing a stylish suit. The interview began quickly as Ted's match was set to begin shortly.

Matt Striker: Good evening everyone, with me at this time is the current Path to Glory Champion and the man set to take on the Silent Assassin, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase. So Ted, after seeing what happened to Kendrick at Wrestlemania, why get on Orton's bad side?

Ted Jr: I'm not scared of him Matt, he can hit his fists on the mat and show no emotion at all but I'm not phased. I know Orton and I know what it takes to beat him.

Matt Striker: This all started when The Miz interfered in your match with Orton when it looked like you had the match lost.

Ted Jr: I did not almost have the match lost; I could have defeated Orton by myself as you will see tonight. The Miz interfered because I asked him to. That match wasn't important like this match is. The purpose of our previous encounter was to show Orton that I'll stand up to him, and while he managed to RKO Miz, he failed to inflict any damage on me. Tonight will be the same; I will rise up and defeat Orton. Everyone has already written me off but that's a huge mistake, you can't write me off anymore and you'll see tonight.

Matt Striker: After facing Orton you have another challenger for your Path to Glory Championship, Jimmy Jacobs.

Ted Jr: What does he call himself? The Messiah of Professional Wrestling? I mean come on. If he thinks he’s going to be a threat to me and take away MY title, he’s got another thing coming. We did have a bit of a feud at the end of 2010, and it ended with me defeating him and Tyler Black for my third tag team title reign. I know what he can do and I know that there is no way in hell that he will take away my precious title. I will do anything and everything to ensure that my championship title stays with me. If that means I have to hurt people and take them out of action then so be it. Jimmy Jacobs be warned, stay away from me or you will be hurt. Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s time to go and beat Orton.

Ted left the interview set and ventured off for his match. In his mind the only way he'd be returning to the back would be as the winner. He had no doubt in his skills, but he knew that this would be one of the biggest matches of his career.
