A little flavor for WrestleMania.
It has been rumoured that EBWF wants to open the market overseas. Apparently a World Tour is in the works for 2013. In order for the South American audience to have more in common with the product, a lot of hirings have been proposed. It is said that the board of directors have shuffled a bunch of names from commentators, to superstars. None of them has been made official yet.
New Jersey has been all about EBWF this weekend. For the first time since the October shooting at EBWF HQ, the EBWF fans have been able to share time with their favorite superstars. Assistance records have been broken at both Access and the Slammy Awards, it is likely that a record assistance is broken tonight in Wrestlemania XII.
Speaking of which, an inner source reported that Alberto Rodriguez's (Alberto del Rio's) brother has been backstage with him and Ricardo Rodriguez. It is unknown if he will play any part on his match tonight or if he is just in NJ for the weekend. Guillermo was competing under WWE developmental territory NXT under the name "Memo Montenegro" and was released by WWE last month. It is unknown if he will have a tryout match or if there are contract negotiations going on.
Here's a picture tweeted by Guillermo himself earlier today:
EBWF latin american superstars under contract Ricardo Rodriguez and Alberto del Rio are also likely to be feature on EBWF more often. Del Rio has only appeared on EBWF Television to defend his Path To Glory Championship once a month, and word has it creative is liking his work. Speaking of which, Del Rio has specifically requested a special entrance for the event, something he mentioned in an interview with ESPN Deportes.
Happy WrestleMania People!
