From the Prison Cell, To the Ring

.:: Scene opens from the outside of what appears to be a prison. Michael Cole walks in view of the camera and you can tell he does not look excited to be where he is. Cole motions to the camera to follow him as he approaches the entrance of the building. The camera goes to the left real quick to show the writing on the entrance door that has "PCC" written on an upper line and, "Potosi Correctional Center" written under it. The door slams behind the camera and you can see Cole walk up to a medal sliding door. He stands there for a couple of seconds and then he reaches out and presses a button on the wall. "What is your name and who are you here to see?" A woman’s voice screeches over the intercom. "My name is Michael Cole. I am from the EBWF." Right after he finishes his sentence the sliding door slowly creeps open. Cole walks in and approaches a glass window with a woman sitting at a desk. She asks to see his I.D. and Cole obliges, showing her his driver's license. "Sir, when you are a visitor here at Potosi Correctional Center we ask that you leave all your personal belongings with us. So I will need your cell phone and your wallet." Cole reaches in his back pocket and pulls out his wallet. He puts his driver license back in it and then puts his wallet and cell phone in to a compartment where the CO grabs it and places it in a box in her office. She then picks up a phone and dials a three digit number. You can over hear her talking to someone but you can't make out exactly what she is saying. She hangs up the phone and tells Cole that someone will be with him in a moment. Cole uncomfortably walks around for a couple of minutes. ::.

PCC Warden: Michael Cole! It's nice to meet you. I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time! .:: The camera pans over to show a tall man in a suit and tie. He has shiny black shoes on and a nicely trimmed haircut and mustache combination. Cole walks up a couple of steps and shakes his hand. ::. My name is Tony Steele. I am the Warden here at Potosi Correctional Center.

Michael Cole: Nice to meet you sir. Do you mind me asking who I am to be meeting here? I asked my boss but no one told me who I am coming here to see today.

Tony Steele: Follow me to my office Mr. Cole. The person you are here to meet with is waiting to see you. This is all he has been talking about and working for ever since he arrived here almost four years ago.

.:: Steele starts walking down a hallway and Cole follows him. He makes a turn to the left and opens the door to his office. Cole follows him into the office and they sit next to each other at a small circular wooden table. ::.

TS: Alright Michael, the man we are about to bring in here has a past with you. He indicated that you all were not that close but he used to wrestle for a company you both worked for. There is a good chance he is not the person you remember him being. He has been locked up here for 23 hours a day in his cell for almost the past four years. Needless to say, since the last time you two met he has gotten in to some serious trouble. I will not tell you what he has done to get here, but if you feel comfortable asking he may inform you.

.:: There is a knock on the door and the two men sit with anticipation as a buff medium built man walks in to the room. He has long dark hair and a full beard. He is wearing his state grey uniform and a pair of black boots that are shined up. He has his hands behind his back and as he is led to the empty seat you can see he is handcuffed. As he approaches the chair the Warden instructs the CO to take the cuffs off. The inmate sits down in the chair and slams his hands down on the table. ::.

Inmate: I have been waiting for months to see you Michael Cole! What took you so long!?

.:: There is a moment of awkward silence as Michael Cole looks over at the Warden not knowing what to do. Steele nods toward the inmate. ::.

MC: Drew McIntyre? Is that you?!

Drew McIntyre: Well Michael Cole that depends on who you ask. My name is indeed Drew McIntyre though.

MC: ...it depends on who I ask?

DM: You see Michael, if you ask my mother or father if I am the Drew McIntyre you know they will tell you yes. They will tell you that I have not changed and that I am the same sweet little boy I have always been. Just that I got caught up in something bad. Wrong place at the wrong time. But if you are asking me, then that is completely different I am afraid. If you are asking me then I would tell you I am not at all the person you knew before. I am hardened, I am desperate, and yes, I am a little off my rocker, perhaps. It depends on who you ask. .::McIntyre smiles::. Now back to my original question. What took you so long?!

MC: I don't know Drew. I am just here because my boss told me to be here. I am still confused on what is really going on.

TS: Let me take this one Michael. Mr. McIntyre, this happened as quickly as it could happen. Believe it or not there is a lot of paper work that needs to be done in order to have an inmate be allowed to wrestle while incarcerated. Now, I know why you are being allowed to do this. The director of the MDOC also knows why. We are the only two that need to know. The public needs to know what we want them to know. And what the public will know is that it takes a long time to create a work release program. If you are that unhappy with the process we could always cancel it.

DM: You don't want to do that Tony. I mentioned earlier I was desperate. This is all I have now. This is all I have to look forward to. Take this away from me and I have nothing. The desperate feeling I have towards this goal becomes a desperate feeling to making your prison a living hell. I'm not threatening you, just... think about it.

TS: You are lucky you are who you are. That living hell you were talking about? If anything but positive publicity for me comes from this, that living hell will be on you. Not threatening you or anything, just think about it. If you do anything but what you are supposed to do, your life is over. But, if you do what you are capable of, and follow the rules, we both will be held highly. You for turning your life around after being incarcerated. And me, for being the most successful, powerful, rich, and famous Warden of all time!

.:: Steele gets up from the table and makes his way to the door. As he is doing so McIntyre stares at him the whole time, not blinking once. Steele closes the door behind him and the room only has McIntyre and Cole. ::.

DM: Michael doesn’t worry. You have nothing to be afraid of. Breath, swallow, you are safe. I am going to make this short and sweet. You are here today because I am making my way back in to wrestling. I have done some messed up things since I left my last promotion, I’m not gonna lie. But Steele is so much in love with himself and the idea that he can benefit from something like this he is letting it happen. No Michael, you have nothing to worry about. However, the superstars of the EBWF need to take heed. I am not the Drew McIntyre they remember. I have been in here year after year working for this, and when you have nothing but time on your hands you can improve all of your weaknesses! I have seen some messed up stuff in here… hell, I have done some messed up stuff in here. Things no one in the EBWF could even begin to understand. Michael, when I step in to that ring, it’s not just a wrestling match… it’s my life! And when it comes to my life, you got to fight to survive. That is it for now Michael, but do me a favor will ya? Tells the boys in the EBWF exactly what you saw here today. And let them know that what you saw is coming for them!

.:: McIntyre gets up and puts his hands behind his back. The CO walks over and applies handcuffs to him and leads him out of the room. As McIntyre is leaving he stares at Cole with a smile on his face. McIntyre is escorted out of the room and the camera pans over and shows Cole staring straight ahead and his face as white as can be. ::.

MC: Uh, I need to find the bathroom!

.:: End ::.
