OOC: Could have been better, but university has been quite hectic. Good luck to everyone.
Wrestlemania hadn't gone how Ted had anticipated and he had now entered what he called a "rebuilding" phase. He didn't want to just go out and challenge a champion and demand to be put into a championship match, he wanted to earn one. After the final Warfare before Aftermath ended it was announced on EBWF.net that there would be a fatal four way Ladder match with the winner becoming the number one contender to the World Championship and the next person to take on Dean Ambrose. The Sequel, AJ Styles and The Miz were both announced for the match along with Christian who returned to EBWF after a short hiatus and defeated Wade Barrett. Ted DiBiase was the final participant named and he was eager to put on a strong performance. Since becoming the World Champion, Dean Ambrose had wreaked havoc with Seth Rollins and his followers. EBWF was in dire need of a hero, Miz and Styles wanted to be that hero and they had tried to defeat the Shield but had failed. Christian wanted to once again be relevant and win another World title. Ted however, didn't care about being a hero or 'saving' EBWF. Ted wanted another World Championship reign and wanted to once again be on top of EBWF. He didn't particularly care about what the Shield was doing, and he didn't care who he had to go through to get the title. Several days before Aftermath, at a house show in front of a small crowd of only a few thousand people. Bad Guy by 3OH!3 played around the small arena and the crowd looked up the ramp as Ted walked out from the backstage area.
"Gather up your loved ones, gather up your friends, cause this is when the bad guy, the bad guy wins."
Ted walked down to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Ted dressed casually today, wearing dark blue Levi's and one of his official EBWF t-shirts. He entered the ring and quickly received a microphone to communicate with the crowd.
Ted Jr: Expecting someone else? You should all be cheering for me. After this Sunday I'll be the next in line for a World Championship match. Everyone here knows that Dean Ambrose and the Shield are taking over EBWF, people are calling for a saviour. Will it be CM Punk?
The crowd cheered at the mention of Punk.
Ted Jr: AJ Styles and The Miz desperately want to be the heroes that all of you want. People like you expect a fairy tale ending where the good guy overcomes the odds to defeat the bad guy.
Ted began to pace back and forth slowly in the ring while the crowd began to chant "You suck" at him.
Ted Jr: Welcome to reality! The good guy doesn't always win. Sometimes, just sometimes the bad guy takes out everyone and is declared the winner. I'm not talking about Ambrose or the Shield here, I'm talking about me. In this match on Sunday, I'm the bad guy, I'm the guy that's going to go out there and crush everyone's dream of a Cinderella story victory for the Miz or AJ Styles. They had their chance against the Shield, and they lost. I'm not going to be hero that EBWF wants, I'm the next bad guy looking to create chaos. Dean Ambrose has his following and he did what nobody has done before, he created mayhem in EBWF, he made people believe that EBWF as they knew it had died. He created this image of himself as a king and he ruled his "kingdom" delivered his brand of justice to anyone that opposes him. In some ways I admire what he has done. He created the chaos and sent EBWF into a dark place, one that it may never escape from. People from all corners of the world have said that EBWF needs a hero, someone to save the day. I'm the guy that's going to stop all of it. I'm the one who is going to climb that ladder and reach that contract. I'm going to win because I am simply better than Miz, I'm better than Styles, and I'm damn sure I'm better than Christian. Did you all think I forgot about him? In the last 12 months I've defeated Christian more times than I can count. I've even defeated him in a Ladder match! He is not a factor in this match. The only reason he's in this match and on the card is because he held the World Championship for Punk for a week. I'm the one with the raw talent, I'm the one with all of the success on this match. I'm not like AJ Styles who'll try to have sex with any female in EBWF or like the Miz who is obsessed with himself and who has an ego larger than Vince McMahon. I'm not like Christian either, who is desperately trying to revive his floundering career. I'm focused, I'm in control, I'm simply better. At the end of the day it's not going to be AJ or Miz racing to save the day and its not going to be Christian trying to have one more main event, it's going to be Ted DiBiase winning the World Championship to piss off every single one of you.
Ted dropped the microphone in the middle of the ring and left with a cocky smile on his face as Bad Guys by 3OH!3 played again. The crowd began to boo Ted and as Ted walked up the ramp he shouted back at the crowd.
Ted Jr: Just watch me this Sunday! I'm the real Bad Guy!
Scene 2
Backstage at the KFC Yum! Centre in Louisville, Ted DiBiase was backstage with Matt Striker for a pre match interview to be shown exclusively on EBWF.net. Matt Striker was dressed sharply wearing a black suit with a pale blue tie. Ted wore his standard ring attire with a black hoody with the hood down.
Matt Striker: Good evening everyone and welcome to Aftermath, where we are still reeling from the events that took place at Wrestlemania, Dean Ambrose and the Shield have taken control and tonight Rated RKO will try to stop them. But before that there will be a fatal four way Ladder match to determine who will be facing Dean Ambrose for the World Championship. AJ Styles, The Miz, Christian and Ted DiBiase are all fighting for a guaranteed World Championship match. With me at this time is Ted DiBiase, who at Wrestlemania challenged John Cena for the Intercontinental Championship unsuccessfully. Last year you had several ladder matches defending your Path to Glory Championship, is this any different?
Ted Jr: With more people its always a challenge, but I've already defeated Christian in a ladder match, so in my eyes he is not a threat at all.
Matt Striker: And what about The Sequel? You used to team with them and at one time you were the most successful trio in EBWF.
Ted Jr: The Trilogy is long dead. Styles and Miz say that they are better off without me but what have they done since becoming this "amazing duo"? They won the tag titles for a week? What did they do with my help? They had an Intercontinental Championship reign, World Championship reign and Royal Rumble victory. They act as though I'm not in the same league as them but the facts can't be argued with. Miz lost the PTG Championship to Jeff Hardy, who I defeated. Then I held that title for 11 months. Longer than Miz, longer than Punk, longer than anyone. I wasn't the weakest link in that group, I made them relevant. On any day I can defeat anyone in EBWF. So tonight I'll be the one that will grab that briefcase. I'll be the one that takes on Ambrose and I'll win the World Championship.
Matt Striker: EBWF has needed someone to be a hero and stop Dean Ambrose, is that you?
Ted smirked before responding.
Ted Jr: I'm not a hero, I'm another villain. I don't need an army to make my presence felt, my actions show that. I'm not going to defeat Dean Ambrose to put an end to his hold over EBWF. I'm going to defeat Dean Ambrose to become the World Champion and start my own reign of dominance.
Ted left the interview area, confident that he was going to win. He didn't need to crack jokes or call the others names, he just had to go out there and win. The time for talking was finished and it was now up to his actions.
