Death Before Dishonor
Alberto Del Rio Vs. Damien Sandow
Path to Glory Championship
.:: The programming comes back from a short advertisement showing buildup for EBWF's Death Before Dishonor Pay Per View. You see Christy Hemme and Matt Striker standing at a desk with a big flat screen television on the wall behind them. The television is positioned between the two of them and has the logo for Death Before Dishonor displayed on it. They are in a make shift studio that is located in Scotiabank Saddledome. The arena is mostly empty as they have just opened the doors for the fans to come in. Both Co-hosts are dressed to impress with Striker in a suit and tie and Hemme in a shimmering black dress. ::.
Matt Striker: Welcome back to the Death Before Dishonor pre show folks. We have already discussed the first four matches of the night now it is time to look at the match up that is going to be fought for the Path to Glory Championship.
Christy Hemme: That's right Matt. We are going to take a quick look at Alberto Del Rio versus Damien Sandow. These two guys don’t have much of a history together Matt but that doesn't mean it isn't going to be an intense exciting matchup. Let's have a look.
.:: The television comes on and starts showing clips of each wrestler performing. The clips start to take up the whole screen. After a couple of minutes of showing both wrestlers getting victories leading them to this contest the clip goes black and the camera comes back to the make shift studio. ::.
Matt Striker: This is going to be a ver..
.:: Striker stops talking and looks confused. ::.
Matt Striker: Oh okay. Well folks we have a surprise guest that wants to speak to us before his big match tonight. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the studio, Damien Sandow!
.:: Sandow walks in from the side of the cameras and greets Hemme with a hug and shakes hands with Striker. Sandow also looks spiffy as he is wearing a black suit coat with a black under shirt and a black tie with American Jewelry and Loan logos. Around his neck he is wearing his now signature rabbit’s foot on a chain. Sandow stands in between the two hosts in front of the television. ::.
Christy Hemme: Damien welcome to the set! What a surprise!
Damien Sandow: Yeah Christy I have been pulling surprises lately. Surprising people with the new and improved me. So I thought I shouldn't stop now. Why not surprise Christy, Matt, and the faithful masses watching at home!
Christy Hemme: Indeed you have been a surprise lately Damien. Last week I think everyone was surprised when you pulled, what most people are calling, an upset against the powerful Brock Lesnar.
Damien Sandow: Brock is very strong Christy. Being in the ring with him is like being in the ring with an 18 wheeler, let me tell you. But at the end of the day I proved a very valid and big point. Brute strength is no match for intellectual strength, and intellectual strength is no match for good luck! Last week was only the beginning. Last week I proved that I have changed and that luck is on my side. Like I said last week, while my opponents are out causing havoc and living a wasteful life only worrying about themselves accomplishing nothing, I am out helping the less fortunate. I am bringing food to the hungry and warmth to the cold. Heck, earlier this week while I was driving I actually pulled my Tahoe over and picked a turtle up to help it cross the street.
Christy Hemme: Awww how sweeeeet!
.:: Striker glares at Hemme. ::.
Matt Striker: Pull yourself together Christy! Damien that is great and all, and apparently you have made my co-host fall in love with you, but what does intelligence or doing good deeds have to do with your match later on against Alberto Del Rio?
Damien Sandow: Really? Its' you this week? I never thought the day would come where Matt Striker is the one trying to rain on my luck parade. Let me explain this to you Matt, and to the other haters out there. This is no longer about Damien Sandow. It is bigger than that. When I step through those ropes I am no longer fighting the fight for me. I am fighting the good fight, being a leader for the faithful EBWF masses that have chosen to follow me. The same ones I used to downsize and make feel useless. If it wasn't for them believing in my change and taking notice in it, I wouldn't have the luck I have today, and I wouldn't have the chance I have tonight. I fight for them, I fight for luck! Instead of me leading them, I guess you could say they are leading me. Leading me down a path to glory!
Christy Hemme: Haters be Hatin', Damien!
Damien Sandow: Indeed they do, Christy. Indeed they do! But haters are gonna hate. I say just let them hate while we watch the luck pile up in our favor!
.:: Sandow pauses as the camera focuses on Striker who is rolling his eyes. ::.
Damien Sandow: Speaking of hate. I used to hate a lot of things. I used to wrestle every week with a lot of hate and anger. Ever since I figured out it isn't about me, and I have been wrestling with less hate, I have been successful. You never would have found me in soup kitchens or helping people cross the street before. I would have laughed at their misfortune while eating a four course meal. But now, now that I have changed... things have changed. You know that story about how I helped a turtle cross the street? That happened while I was on my way from the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City to Moore, Oklahoma. I took time out of my week, time I could have been doing things for me, to go down there and help with recovery efforts. Let me tell you, there is nothing I have done in my life that has meant more to me or helped me feel more complete. I brought a short video of some things that happened while I was down there.
.:: Sandow moves aside so the television screen can be seen. The video starts playing and shows Sandow holding a green sign that says "Welcome to Moore Oklahoma" on the top line and "Population 57,810" on the second line. In the photo Sandow is surrounded by what you can only assume are Moore residents. The next photo shows Sandow handing out bottles of water to children. Next a video clip shows Sandow shaking hands, high fiving, and hugging other volunteers that showed up to help. The video goes on for a couple of minutes and shows Sandow doing a variety of things from picking up debris to making beds at a shelter for the newly homeless. The video fades to black and the camera comes back to Christy who appears to be about ready to cry. ::.
Christy Hemme: Damien I don't use this term lightly, but you are a true hero.
Damien Sandow: Thank you Christy, but I believe heroes are the ones that fight for my freedom. Heroes are the American's that allow me to do what I love to do and allow me to live free! I am simply someone who has recently been riding a string of good luck, so I thought I would let some of my good luck rub off on people that truly need it. You know the one person on the EBWF roster that needs luck right now? My opponent later tonight; Alberto Del Rio. Here in a couple of hours he is going to be stepping in to the ring with a man that has good luck spilling out of his pores. He sweats liquid, I sweat LUCK! Alberto Del Rio, or as I call him, ADR, will need luck if he wants any chance of retaining that championship of his. Why? Let's be honest, in this battle, I am the strongest person when it comes to intelligence and strength.
Matt Striker: It’s been good talking to you here on the Death Before Dishonor pre show, Damien. Good luck in your match tonight.
Damien Sandow: Matt before I go I have one more thing to say to ADR, who I am sure is watching. Alberto, do not take my kindness and wanting to do good as a weakness. True I have just revealed that I helped a turtle cross the road, but don’t let that fool you into a sense of comfort. When I step through those ropes I am the same Damien Sandow you saw last week take out Brock Lesnar. A man twice your size, and twice your competitive nature! Alberto, tonight when you are standing in that ring looking across at me knowing your Path to Glory championship is in serious danger, you have to ask yourself one question. “Me siento afortunado? Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya punk? Usted es bienvenido!
.:: Sandow smiles at the camera and then turns and shakes hands with Striker. He again hugs Hemme and then walks off the set as the show goes to another hype video for the upcoming show. ::.
.:: End ::.
