Christian:
One of us is going to have to change and it's not going to be me.
Denise:
It should be the one doesn't pull off the look.
Christian:
That's exactly what I said.
Denise:
Shut up! So, big challenge this week, eh former World Champion? Ricardo Rodriguez!
Christian:
Puh-lease, I'd get more of a challenge from a guy who just got his master's degree in nerdiness from Oklahoma State University! And I'm not even sure if that crap even exists whatsoever!
Denise:
Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Captain Charisma! By the way, Stephanie McMahon called to say you have an interview scheduled with...
Christian (annoyed):
Todd Grisham?
Denise:
You know it!
Christian looked upset as the scene faded to black for five seconds before opening back in the backstage of the Warfare that was to happen that night. Christian was wearing a white "CC" shirt, which melded with the blue tights he wore with the design now in white. Todd Grisham began the interview.
Todd Grisham:
Welcome everybody, I'm here with Christian who is facing Ricardo Rodriguez in the 2013 King of the Ring tournament. Christian, do you feel like someone is looking out for you, having drawn someone who is considered an easy win?
Christian:
An easy win? You know who is an easy win, Todd? You! Where I come from, we must respect each and ever...
Christian blurts out laughing in disrespect mid-sentence.
Christian:
Sorry, sorry... I really really tried to be serious but I can't consider a man who allows himself to be another man's lap dog and kiss his butt when announcing him only to decide he wants to play with the big boys too! So, yes he's an easy win but if you think that this match is a favour from the people upstairs, you can pull your head out of your ass because with this roster, facing Ricardo Rodriguez is just about the only break possible.
Todd Grisham:
So you don't think of him as a serious contender?
Christian:
Todd... I am even a little insulted. But the random draw gave me this task to show Ricardo that he belongs behind that microphone, in his silly little tuxedo with ten gallons of hair care products on him kissing his little rich mentor's ass and asking for more. If that doesn't make you happy, then boo-hoo. I've read the reports saying Christian will see the light! Christian will be a changed man! Christian is fine the way he is!
Todd Grisham:
What would you say is your ultimate goal in this tournament?
Christian:
Really, Todd? Go home!
Saying that, Christian took the microphone and stood alone in the shot.
Christian:
My ultimate goal is to win, I want to be a King of The Ring winner not because it's important to rebuild my career, and not because I need to prove myself... Because it's what is left to do here. There's nothing more than King of The Ring. Which now leads to the question, "why enter if you're not interested in being World Champion?" well, I never said that! I'm gonna explain to you in "Trent?" terms... When you beat Mario, you know what is going to happen if you play it again, and yet you do it anyway, why? Because you can! I'm winning this match against Ricardo because I can... I'm winning this tournament because I can... I'm going to become a nine time EBWF World Champion because I can!
Christian walked off-scene failing to realize that the lights were in process of dimming and the monitors behind him showed blue eyes that stalked each of his movement closely almost as if it were a hunter stalking its prey.
