A Real Wrestler

Post by Kyle »

OOC: It's always interesting writing as a new character, I didn't want to do the same DB that says yes and no, I wanted to make him a bit more focused. Any feedback would be great. Can't wait to read the other RPs. Good luck to everyone.

Daniel Bryan sat in a dark room, his clean shaven face made him look innocent but he was anything but that. He wore a dark jacket and jeans, and was staring down at the ground before looking up.

Daniel Bryan: I won the King of the Ring tournament in 2010, the same year that Ted DiBiase was crowned World Champion. Tap or snap, that's what I did in 2010, and I beat DiBiase and CM Punk to win the Tag Team Championship. 3 years later and nothing has changed, DiBiase still thinks that he is a real wrestler and I'm back again to show that he isn't. I'm a real wrestler, I am a technician in the ring. I'm not a performer, an entertainer or a dazzler, I'm a wrestler. I go out to the ring, make my opponent tap out and leave.

Daniel Bryan stood up and the area that he was in lit up. Around him were many different punching bags all hanging from the roof.

Daniel Bryan: When anyone steps in the ring with me they know that they will be out-wrestled. Any move my opponent makes could give me the perfect opportunity to lock in a submission. 6 seconds of pain or 6 months out of action, that's what every wrestler asks themselves. Do they want to win more than they want a functioning arm or leg, are they too proud not to tap out while they're locked in a choke hold? I'm not 6 foot 8 inches and 350 pounds of pure muscle, but that does NOT make me any less dangerous!

He approached one of the punching bags and delivered a swift kick, making the bag sway back and forth.

Daniel Bryan: A punching bag can take hundreds of kicks, maybe even thousands, but the human body crumbles. My kicks concuss, my elbows disorient, my punches bruise. I can use any part of my body to inflict pain and I know thousands of holds that can break bones, destroy joints, and snap tendons. Nobody in the King of the Ring tournament knows how good I really am. Nobody knows how to combat my wrestling and grappling experience. That's what's going to make me win the King of the Ring tournament and that's what will make me win the World Championship. At Death Before Dishonor I made my intentions clear, I am here to win. I'm not here to pander to the crowd, I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to win championships and be the greatest of all time. Ted DiBiase felt first hand what I am capable of. Leo Kruger is the next person.

Daniel turned and began to deliver more kicks to the punching bag as the camera faded to darkness.

Scene 2

After dismantling Ted DiBiase at Death Before Dishonour, Daniel Bryan was officially back in EBWF. He had previously teamed with John Cena and won the Tag Team Titles from Ted DiBiase and CM Punk, he even won the 2010 King of the Ring tournament. Daniel Bryan had been all over the world, defeating the best from every country he had been to. Warfare was live from the Air Canada Center in Toronto and it was a huge card tonight. The road to the King of the Ring was here. The first round of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring matches had some surprises and interesting match ups, Trent would face his former friend Curt Hawkins, Edge would take on AJ Styles and the Breakout Champion Leo Kruger would face the returning Daniel Bryan. Daniel was sitting in his locker room, strategising for his match. He had reviewed tapes to see what had made Leo Kruger successful and he had planned ways to disrupt his offence. While he was in his locker room, Jonathan Coachman entered quietly with a camera man following behind.

Coachman: You're back Daniel! It's great to see you.

Daniel looked up to see Coachman and let out a long sigh before standing up.

Daniel Bryan: Let's get this interview started.

Coach turned to the camera behind him.

Coachman: You heard the man, lets get started.

The camera man got into position and started recording.

Coachman: Welcome everybody to another awesome edition of Warfare, I'm the Coach and I'm here with none other than Daniel Bryan, who returned to EBWF at Death Before Dishonor. Tonight he'll be taking on the Breakout Champ, Leo Kruger. First question, you've probably had heaps of people ask you this question but why did you return to EBWF?

Daniel Bryan: I've been all over the world and wrestled everywhere. I've been in every major wrestling company, but EBWF has the best roster and the best talent in the world. As the saying goes, if you want to be the best you've got to beat the best. I'm here to win, and the King of the Ring tournament is my way of reaching the top here.

Coachman: Why did you attack Ted DiBiase?

Daniel Bryan: He wanted to stroke his ego and show that he is still somehow relevant here, and I just proved otherwise. What has he done since losing the PTG championship in December? A failed attempt at winning the Intercontinental Championship? That's it. He can't win the big matches, he never could.

Coachman: Some strong words there, tonight you're taking on Leo Kruger who has been very impressive in his time hard, capturing the Breakout Championship.

Daniel Bryan: He calls himself the Hunter of EBWF and this is his "safari". Well tonight the hunter becomes the hunted. Kruger has been impressive but he lacks the technical skills. He uses power more than technique and that is where he'll lose tonight. Nobody can strike that balance between power and technique like I can. I can kick somebody's head in with a kick, or break their arm with a submission. Tap or snap. That's the only option you'll get. Do you want six seconds of pain and lose the match, or 6 months of rehabilitation because I destroyed your shoulder or rotator cuff. I'm the most dangerous man in EBWF.

Coachman: Thanks for your time, we'll be seeing you take on Leo Kruger tonight in what is the beginning of the King of the Ring tournament.

Coach ended the interview and shook Daniel's hand before leaving the room with his cameraman not too far behind. Bryan, who was already in his ring gear looked around his locker room to make sure he was completely ready. After being satisfied that nothing was forgotten he left his locker room. He walked down the halls in the backstage area of the arena, passing wrestlers and crew members. He rounded a corner and had bumped directly into a person.

Daniel Bryan: Hey, watch where you're going!

The person that he had bumped into was none other than Ted DiBiase. DiBiase dressed casually as he was not on tonight's card. He was still fuming over the events at Death Before Dishonor. Ted got right up in Daniel's face.

Ted Jr: Who the hell do you think you are? Coming out while I'm in that ring? Attacking someone from behind really does make you a great wrestler.

Daniel Bryan: I could out wrestle you with one hand behind my back. Everybody knows you're only in this business because your father was a hall of famer.

Ted Jr: I'm a former World Champ and I-

Daniel Bryan: held the Path to Glory Championship for 330 days, the longest reign in EBWF history. Save the speech, I don't care. You were a World Champ for what? A week? Maybe two? Since then what has happened? You've had title shot after title shot and you can't get the job done. I bet you'll probably be eliminated from the King of the Ring when you lose to another real wrestler, Bret Hart. Now I've got a match now so get the hell out of way.

Daniel shoved Ted and walked past him. Ted took in a couple of deep breaths before grabbing Daniel and throwing him into the wall. The two then started to brawl, landing punches and trying to get the upper hand. Crew members and referees quickly moved in to stop this and they separated the two. Whole being held back, Bryan yelled out.

Daniel Bryan: You better watch yourself, next time I see you I'll snap your damn arm!

Bryan was pushed back and taken away as the same happened for DiBiase. The event wouldn't effect his psyche going into his match, if anything it would fire him up.
