The Hero Dies

Post by Will »

"This is a replay from EBWF Monday Night Warfare! May 27, 2013!"

A loud reaction was given to the team known as The Sequel as The Miz and AJ Styles made their way to the ring.

Jim Ross: This won't be the first time that AJ Styles and The Miz have faced off against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. These teams have had some wars but the stakes are very high tonight.

Jerry Lawler: The Miz is challenging Dean Ambrose for his World Title in just a few short days and a win here will give him a ton of momentum!

As Miz and Styles got closer to the ring, they were suddenly jumped! Ambrose and Rollins had shot over the guardrail from the audience and blind sided The Sequel.

Jim Ross: It's The Shield! They came straight out of the crowd!

Jerry Lawler: You have to have eyes in the back of your head when it comes to these two!

Miz was quickly tossed into the crowd via The Hounds of Justice and Styles was pounced on by both men with fists and boots.

Jim Ross: The bell hasn't even rang yet!

Styles' arm was trapped underneath the set of steel ring steps by Rollins and Ambrose charged forward to deliver a harsh kick to the appendage wedged underneath the steel. AJ cried out in pain and fell to the floor in a heap. Miz quickly rushed to his partners aid as EMT's came to check on Styles.

Jerry Lawler: There is no way AJ is going to be able to compete tonight!

Jim Ross: There was nothing but a premeditated assault by these monsters!

The referee motioned that the match had been called off as Ambrose and Rollins taunted Miz from inside of the ring. The Miz shoved the ref aside and slid into the ring to go after The Shield!

Jim Ross: The Miz is trying to take it to The Shield on his own!

Jerry Lawler: I can't say how wise this is but I don't think Miz cares right now!

" And what happened to Miz? He got his ass kicked, thats what happened. But he didn't get "taken out?" now did he? No, that's because Dean Ambrose knows that Miz is not a threat to his EBWF Championship, no, fuck no. The real threat is you! Why else would they wanna put you on the shelf? Think about it for a second... You are the man that got Miz over and helped him claim his first World Championship. You are the guy that took that championship from him! The you went on to dominate the summer... Every outing you have had with Dean Ambrose you have kicked his ass each and every single time and if anybody wants to speak on a win loss record between the two I'm pretty fucking sure you have beaten him more times than he has beaten you. If you allow me to give you the guidance you need I promise you that your career in this company will leave a very lasting impression. Look at this. Another clip from Warfare during the King of the Ring tournament."

Edge: "He's been riding along on the coat tails of the Miz. The Miz is the most noteworthy thing to have come out of Trilogy."

The crowd cheered in anticipation, and as Styles struggled to his feet Edge charged towards him, taking him down with the Spear! Edge hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1... 2... 3!

"In what was proclaimed the match of the night, you didn't get the job done. It's okay though. Maybe you underestimated Edge. Maybe you thought he would come to the ring like he usually does and puts on a half assed effort. He lost to Jay Briscoe in the tournament for crying out loud. I'm sure you would have destroyed Briscoe! But that's beyond the point. This guy has the nerve to tell the world that your nothing. He tries to lure the fans into believing that your not the man! Instead he wants the people to think that you're a sidekick when that is so far from the case. You never needed the Miz, the Miz needed you! I tried to help him last year and what does he do? He spits in my face. Then where does he go? Back down the ladder to hold the Intercontinental title. That's not you. You've been there and done that. With me by your side you will be the World Champion and nothing less! Right now in the EBWF everyone is trying to stop the Shield, losing sight of the big picture. Jericho doesn't have a damn clue what he is doing behind that desk and so far as the CEO he has been rather memorable would you say? Literally, this is the era of nostalgia, in which everything going on is a memory of the past. We have guys who had their glory days years ago and think they can come back, past their prime, and take over. No sir... that is not going to happen. The big picture here is steeping outside the status quo. I see the fire I'm your eyes and I know just like you know that your the greatest wrestler in the god damn galaxy! Your entire career people have criticized you for not being this or not being that and you proved them wrong every single time! You have held championship gold all around the world. Has the Miz ever done that? No! He is your fucking sidekick! Trust me when I say this... There is nobody better in that ring than you. Nobody... and together, we are going to rock this company to its very foundation and take back EVERYTHING... they have taken from us!"

Two Months Later...

Renee Young: Here with me at this time, Paul Heyman and his client, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles!

Renee was a beautiful petite young lady who wore a bright smile on her face. She was the EBWF's newest broadcast journalist and the dress she wore that was red, fit perfectly to as where you could get her confused as a Diva.

Paul Heyman: Thank you very much.

Heyman's overweight frame came into the screen for the viewers pleasure and he was dressed in an all black suit, which looked rather expensive. His bald spot shined in the light as he turned to face the camera. Standing behind Heyman was the current Anti-Hero of the EBWF, AJ Styles.

AJ Styles: We can handle this, you can go.

Renee Young: Excuse me?

Renee was taken back as the larger man approached her with a sudden dismissal. AJ Styles newest attire consisted of a sleeveless black biker jacket with a hoodie covering his head. He also wore a black base ball cap forward and a dark pair of shades. He moved in rather quickly on the new girl, like usual, only this time Styles would do something different.

Renee Young: I would like to ask you a few questions regarding the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match coming up this Sunday at Sacrifice.

AJ Styles: Renee, this is our first time meeting and you seem like a rather nice chick. Good job Jericho for once. Now, you know of me, but you probably don't know just what kind of MAN I am. I no longer answer questions for anyone. So, when I told you to let a MAN take care of this you should have fell back and stayed in your place. Now just because this our first time meeting I'm going to let you slide. So next time we meet you better act like a lady or else I will clock you over the head, drag you back to my cave, and have my way with you. Now, scram skirt.

Styles had taken her microphone away from her and stood in front of her basically eclipsing her from the cameras view. The gentleman and hopeless romantic that AJ Styles once was, was far gone. Renee simply walked away without further confrontation with the two men.

AJ Styles: A few nights ago on Warfare we had ourselves a little six man tag team preview for this Sundays Money in the Bank match. If you tuned in then you would know that I dominated that entire match. I made The Miz look like a star, as usual. I even gave that bastard Cody Rhodes a rub of my greatness. I completely man handlers Chris Sabin. Trent Who? Even got his ass kicked. Daniel Bryan and I have been in the ring a lot and I've owned him just as I did Monday night. Sad to say I shined so bright this Monday night, I made every guy in that ring jealous.

Styles tuned and the light reflected a glimmer from his gold chain and earrings for a nice moment of harmony.

AJ Styles: These morons break loose attempting to steal my vibe by getting the match thrown our. Then everyone wants to race to the top of the lade like dumbasses. Yeah, I attempted to at first, but thought about it once I got shoved off. I didn't try that shit again. I let them duke it out, because I want to be 100% this Sunday night. The Miz was the one that took down the briefcase, who gives a damn. I don't. He had his shot and he didn't win the belt. After I basically handed him the number one contenders spot a few months ago. I laid down for my best fried just to give him the confidence and motivation to win the big one once again. But what did he do? He failed. I'm not upset that he didn't have what it took, but the guy didn't even have the balls to tell me thank you. Thats foul. Mike knows that I am so much better than he is inside that ring and if I wanted to kick his ass, I would. At Sacrifice you will not be watching a replay. You won't be seeing Miz standing tall on the ladder. Nor will you see Cody Rhodes, or the other 3 irrelevant sons a of bitches at that. It's going to be me. NO ONE is going to hold me back any longer. I'm done with the good guy routine. I'm done feeling sorry for you people. The difference between me and the rest of the men in this match is empathy. No fucks will be given. I will cripple, hurt, mane, and KILL anybody who tries to stop me from climbing that ladder and taking that contract. It's been too long since I've been World Champion. Cody Rhodes was the man who dashed my reign to begin with, so him being in this match is just added incentive. I get to get dish out a cold plate if revenge and I plan on force feeding it to Cody Rhodes. I'm not worried about this match because I'm the odds on favorite going in and if you don't see that then you need to get your fucking eyes examined. I'm the one with nothing to lose and everything to gain! I have no empathy in my heart. None. I'll do whatever... It takes... Whatever... It takes...

The scene faded to black with the final image featuring an emotionless AJ Styles and a sinister smiling Paul Heyman in the background.

Allen Jones found himself days away from a match that could skyrocket him back on top of the EBWF mountain. He wasn't very nervous about the match even though nobody knew the outcome as of yet and they all just planned spots. He was rather nervous because of the situation he found himself in. Sitting at a table within this big fancy restaurant, Allen was starting to regret the fact that he had even showed up. The waiter didn't approach yet, standing by, patiently waiting on the second party to arrive. Suddenly, AJ's iPhone 5 began to vibrate and he looked at his screen to see the text message he had just received.

"I've really missed you! Can't wait to see you tonight. We both have big matches this weekend and I just made it in town after an exhausting flight. There is no place I would rather be than in your arms. See you soon. Kisses."

Styles quickly unlocked his phone and began to reply.

"Can't wait babe. When you get to the hotel, we have a suite under my name. Your key is at the front desk. I have a little business to take care of so I'll be there as soon as I'm finished, so just relax. I'll see you soon."

Almost as soon as he sent the text and locked his screen he had received a reply.

"Xoxo"

Taking a glance he quickly put his phone back in his jacket pocket. The person who he was waiting on had just arrived and AJ found himself nervously standing up as they approached him.

Vince McMahon: AJ STYLES! It's nice to finally meet you.

Was that an insult? They've met before. That awkward moment. Styles accepted his handshake before taking his seat across from the billionaire businessman.

Vince McMahon: thanks for joining me tonight. I almost thought you would decline my offer.

Allen Jones: I'm always open for business.

Vince McMahon: Great! That's why we're here, business. So how about we get right down to business. You're contract with the EBWF ends on the December 23rd, am I correct?

He knew that much, he obviously knew who he was.

Allen Jones: Yes, it does.

Vince McMahon: Well it just so happens that I've been watching you for a while and I want to go ahead and put the offer on the table. I want you in the WWE.

Wow. After 12 years in the business Vince McMahon finally said those magic words. AJ didn't know how to react, but he knew he didn't wanna jump ship unless it was really worth it.

Vince McMahon: I'm ready to double the amount you're making now and give you the premier time that you deserve. I know you're feeling very unappreciated where you're at in the EBWF and I can change things for you in a heartbeat.

Allen Jones: If you don't mind me asking, why exactly do you think I'm a good fit there?

Vince McMahon: Because we need more smaller guys like you. Ones that can move fast and take high risk.

Allen Jones: Why not Daniel Bryan?

Vince McMahon: Who?

Allen Jones: You should look into him. Indy guy who can never stay in one place for long. If he did he would probably earn a little credibility. What about Chris Sabin?

Vince McMahon: I don't really think Sabin fits the mold. He is a talented kid, but I don't like paying injured wrestlers to stay at home. He will probably wind up back in TNA.

Allen Jones: Yeah, you can't do a thing without legs. You might be hiring Zack Gowen all over again. What about Trent?

Vince McMahon: Trent who?

Allen Jones: Trent question mark...

Vince McMahon: Who in the Blue hell is that?

He was actually stumped.

Allen Jones: Trent Baretta?

Vince McMahon: Oh! I never liked that kid. Ever.

Allen Jones: He was red hot last year. I actually thought he would end up the World Champion. Then...

Vince McMahon: Then what?

Allen Jones: He lost his appeal. I don't know what happened but its very sad to watch. It's like he lost his drive and motivation. Now instead of being World Champion I see him being future endeavored and winding up a jobber in TNAs X division.

Vince McMahon: Why are you trying to put other people off on me?

Allen Jones: I'm just wondering. What do you see in me that you don't see in guys like Miz and Cody Rhodes?

Vince McMahon: Well both of those men have very bad attitudes when it comes to business. Mizanin is nothing more than a mid card at best and Cody Rhodes is hard to deal with. He showed Ikeda so much disrespect, I'd be damned if he did me the same.

Allen Jones: Yeah, Cody is a real douche bag. He would bitch in the back about putting people over. I hated the fact that he went over me last year in the biggest fluke of the year. I think Wes had a hard on for him at the time and tried to push him to the moon. Only for Cody to bite the hand that fed him. That really pissed me off.

Vince McMahon: I know it did. Lets just change the subject for a moment tell me about what you want out of your career and then we can discuss numbers. I would really like to negotiate a deal with you Mr. Jones. Waiter! We're ready to order.

The waiter rushed over to the two men and took their orders. AJ was seriously considering what McMahon had to say. If he didn't get the push he deserved soon he might just have a change if heart and with the Money in the Bank match being this Sunday night, this could possibly be his last shot. Something drastic was about to happen in the life of Allen Jones, sooner rather than later.

She was so beautiful, so angelic while she slept. Trish Stratus laid peacefully on AJ's shoulder as the two laid wrapped up in the sheets of the hotel suite bed. AJ didn't want to move her but he had to so he could use the bathroom. Placing her head on the pillow he quietly got out of the bed, trying not to wake her in the process. He made his way to the bathroom and after using it he washed his hands and made his way back to bed. He noticed a bright light in the dark room due to it being very early in the morning. It was Trish's phone. He paid it no mind. He got back in the bed and under the covers closing his eyes. Moments later he opened them and looked at Trish. Sound asleep. What the hell. He reached over his girlfriend and grabbed her phone off the nightstand. He didn't know the pass ode to unlock it but he didn't need it as the text message was displayed on the front screen of the phone.

[Adam Copeland]
"Had fun the other night. Can't wait to do it again."

What the fuck? He thought to himself.

Allen Jones: What the fuck?

Thinking out loud now. He gripped the phone tightly and stared at Trish for a moment. What was this message about. Why was she seeing Adam? Was she being unfaithful? AJ now had a million questions running through his head. He was already under a ton of stress due his upcoming match on Sunday. Now, this was just unbearable. Pure insecurity set in.

Allen Jones: Babe...

No response. He got louder.

Allen Jones: BABE!

That worked. Trish jumped as if she was having a nightmare. Her eyes were red due to the lack of sleep and she looked completely startled.

Trish Strarus: What? Everything okay?

He couldn't contain himself, he flipped out.

Allen Jones: No. What the fuck is going on with you and Adam?

Trish Stratus: Huh? Nothing. What in the world are you talking about?

Allen Jones: Don't play stupid. You were just with him the other night. What the fuck? I thought we had something's special.

Trish Stratus: I don't know what the hell you're talking about, Allen. I haven't seen Adam in a while or do we even keep in touch.

Styles threw the phone in her lap to read herself. She looked shocked.

Trish Stratus: Babe, I swear I don't know what the fuck he means by this. You gotta believe me.

Allen Jones: Fuck that. You're foul. How could you go behind my back and cheat on me with that asshole.

Trish Stratus: I promise I'm not! Damn, can you trust me? He probably knows we're together and just sent that to fuck with your head. I swear I have been nothing but faithful to you, Allen.

He was silent. He didn't believe her. He was sick. Heart broken even. The match he had been so focused on for days was now faded out by the image of his woman with another man. A man he hated at that. He simply shook his head, not saying a word.

Trish Stratus: Okay, you know what? I'll just leave. It's clear to me that you don't trust me and I don't want you around me if you're going to act like this.

He didn't try to stop her. She got out of the bed and grabbed her things. She procrastinated towards the door waiting for him to stop her. But he didn't. She looked dejected as she exited the room and slammed the door behind her. AJ on the other hand was hurting. He did trust her, but he knew what he seen. Maybe he was wrong, maybe he was right. But he knew one thing, he'd be sleeping alone tonight.

The camera began to roll and the scene faded in to AJ Styles sitting at a desk. He was wearing a suit like he once did before only it was entirely black. The office looked familiar to the viewers and once the camera panned out it was revealed why. The name plate on the rest read Chris Jericho. Styles took a cigar from the desk and lit it before propping his feet on the desk.

AJ Styles: Nice office, Chris. Wondering how I got in here? I've banged the maid from time to time. Anywho, I'm here today to get something off my chest. You told us all that if we had something to say, say it here and not twitter. Well, here I am. In the flesh. I've got a lot to say too. First lets start with the fact that you could've just named me the number one contender and that would be that. But no, you put me in a six man ladder match. Nice. Then you go on to hand Syxx a shot at the title. Seriously, what the hell did he do to receive such a reward. Who did he ever beat in this era to get that chance. Speaking of who did he ever beat. Chris Sabin. Daniel Bryan. Why are they even part of the Money in the Bank ladder match. I don't recall either of them earning that spot. A few weeks ago, I tore apart the legendary Bret Hart in a steel cage match. Now you want me to climb a ladder as if I was in the circus.. all for your own personal amusement. Chris Sabin couldn't even retain the PTG Championship right after he won it. That's pathetic. I have a long history with each of the men in this match and Sabin is probably the least of my worries. Or Bryan is. Both of them are. Just sad. They don't deserve this spot, just as Syxx doesn't deserve his.i hope he defeats Ambrose, I really do. Because I'm going to be the one to win this match and I won't hesitate to cash in my contract on Syxx the minute he least expects it.

He brushed his messy black hair out his eyes.

AJ Styles: Cody Rhodes... I don't know your current gimmick, but I do know I don't like you. It was a year ago at this very event where you took my championship away from me. You stole something that belonged to me and I hate you for it. I hate thieves. I outta cut your damn hands off! I finally get a chance to right one of the biggest wrongs in my career. I finally get a chance to hurt you like you hurt me. Take something just like you took from me. Only this time I won't be taking your gold. I'll be taking your livelihood. I'm going to watch you scale a ladder and each time I'm going to make it my purpose to push you off. Over and over again until you can't even walk.

A smug look appeared on his face.

AJ Styles: My friends. Trent and Miz. At least I thought they were my friends, but no. They turned their back on me as soon as they seen me get mad. As soon as they noticed that the time for jokes was over. I laughed enough. I'm done with that shit. Now I wanna make people cry. Starting with all of their fans. The ones who see The Miz and Trent as a hero. It's funny because, they are so blind. In this movie, the hero dies. I'm no longer taking a backseat to friendship. I'm done being a Martyr. Jericho, if you're watching this just know that everything is about to change and I don't give a damn if you like it or not. I'm the man and after I win the Money in the Bank, it will only be a matter of time before I prove it.

Styles let out an angry grunt before he put the lit cigar out on the desk. Then the feed went to a sudden static.
