Too Soft

Post by D.J »

Triple H, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, a household name in the business of professional wrestling. It had been quite sometime that, Triple H was a name synonymous with tremendous in ring success, however. Many people felt as though Hunter's best days were behind him in the squared circle, and that perhaps a job with the company NOT competing would be what was best for him. However, I would not envy ANYONE who was given the duty of informing Hunter of this opinion. The fire still burned strong in "The Game" and wrestling was not only what he does, it's who he is. Upon Triple H's return, a few months back, he fell short to then World Champion CM Punk. Hunter's in ring involvement since then could be described as sporadic at best. He returned into the public eye last week on Warfare when he came out to defend his wife against a potential attack at the hands of the Shield. Causing many to wonder if it was "Time To Play The Game" for real this time. His brief appearance at the closing of the show, is now to be followed by a one on one match with Cody Rhodes, this coming Monday on Warfare. One thing was for certain, all eyes would certainly be on the Cerebral Assassin, waiting, wondering, if he still had what it takes to be the major player he once was.

::START GAME::

STATIC.. the screen flickered green lights off and on. Finally the camera came into focusing on a shot. That camera shot was of "The Game" Triple H he sat in a steel chair in what appeared to be a basement of sorts. Cement floors dirty walls. He has on a Triple H denim jacket and held a sledgehammer in his hand. His hair was wet and over his face. He whipped it back quickly. STATIC. The screen flickered again with green lights until the camera got focused once again on Triple H. He seemed deranged in his nature, as he began laughing to himself, and rubbing the top of the sledgehammer as if he was preparing to hit somebody with it. STATIC.. the screen flickered in and out a third time with green lights, until it once again focused in on Triple H. He stared a whole through the camera, and it was clear that he was all business.

Triple H: It's easy to judge what kind of man someone is, when you see how they react when someone they care about.. someone they love.. is in eminent danger. This past Monday Night, my wife Joanie.. went down to the ring.. that was inhabited by the so called most "dangerous" group in the EBWF.. The Shield. Seeing that.. and witnessing that.. left me no choice but to go to the ring to make sure that those dirtbags didn't lay a finger on her. My wife is a proud woman, a strong woman, hell she's the god damn ninth wonder of the world, but one of the things she also is.. is stubborn. She wasn't going to take the disrespect that was being thrown her way by Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns, and in her head she was going to be able to physically make them fall in line. Now I have all the faith in the world, that if there was anybody that was going to be able to do that.. it's her, but as we've seen on too many occasions, the strength is definitely in the numbers. So to watch her walk down that ramp, was like watching the most important person in the world to me, walk into a slaughter. So I acted.. I went down.. got Joanie.. got Pac.. and that should have been that. Case closed, but stubborn took to a new level with a man I used to call a brother.. in Syxx. Syxx, would not let it be.. he would not walk away.. he decided to go BACK to the ring, leading to my wife going BACK after him.. but then something happened.. for one of the first times since I've known him.. Syxx thought of somebody other than himself. He stopped, he turned back.. and we all watched as hell broke loose in the ring with the Shield.. and with Orton. The EBWF is a wild jungle these days, and all Monday Night did.. for me.. was reawaken the most dangerous the most vicious WILD ANIMAL in this entire damn place..The GAME Triple H. All seeing the so called top dogs in this business dismantling each other, did for me.. was make me want.. no NEED.. to get back in the ring.. and show EACH and EVERYONE of those guys, that if you really want to be considered a TOP DOG.. if you really want to prove that you are worth something around here.. YOU STILL HAVE TO DO IT THROUGH. ME. As for Syxx.. and the Shield.. you are lucky.. you are BEYOND LUCKY.. that not one hair on the head on my wife was harmed.. because if it was.. and if it ever is.. I won't care what I have to do.. I will end each and every one of you.. and that's not a threat.. it's a PROMISE.

As Triple H spoke the hair on his head began to creep back towards his eyes, and he looked about as intimidating as ever. He shook with intensity as he stared into the camera.

Triple H: I've been here a long time, I've been in this business most of my adult life. I know what these young guys are all about, I know that each and everyone of them want to Peacock their way around this place, trying to show off who's got the best feathers.. each guy trying to make himself and all of us believe that he is the best that professional wrestling has to offer. You can go right on down the line, Ambrose, Orton, Styles, DiBiase, Miz, Trent?, each and every one of these guys trying to get ahead some of them by any means necessary. There's a clear cut difference, and it's as obvious as ever when a guy truly believes what he's saying vs. a guy who WANTS us to believe that he believes the things he's saying. Which brings me to my opponent on Monday Night, Cody Rhodes. Cody, if Monday Night did anything to me, it put me in a pretty foul mood. It put me in the mood to do what I've done better than anyone else in this business, it put me in the mood to HURT SOMEBODY. Unfortunately for you Cody, that somebody is going to be you. Cody, don't get me wrong, kid. I've been a fan. I've seen you pull out some aggression, and quite frankly for lack of a better term.. NUTS over the past couple of years that I didn't think you had, and it's served you pretty well. You've been a world champion, you've won some matches, and you've started to make a name for yourself.

Triple H gave Cody an unenthusiastic round of applause.

Triple H: But we both know Cody that whether you're deranged whether you're headbutting mirrors, or whether you are making out with snakes, or sticking your head in ant farms.. EVEN if you win a couple of matches while you are doing ANY of the above, it takes a lot more than what you've done, it takes a lot more than what you've accomplished, for you to be able to pump up your chest, and act like you're worth a crap to somebody like me. I don't do this often, but I'm going to give you some advice.. man to man. Don't do what I think you're going to do going into Monday Night. Don't come out here and pull the "Oh Hunter's washed up.. he's passed his prime.. he's too old.." Or whatever other crap, you'll try to convince yourself of so that you can sleep better... just don't do it... because you know.. as well as I know.. that when the bell rings on Monday.. I'm still going to be able to go.. you know as well as I do, that when the bell rings on Monday.. I'm going to be more than you can handle.. you are going to be in over your head, in FAR too deep, out of your GOD DAMN LEAGUE. So save yourself the embarrassment of having to backtrack your words, keep your foot of your mouth, by keeping it SHUT.. because at least then WHEN you lose.. you won't like a moron for parading around with the over the hill jokes, only then to be annihilated by the so called "old guy."

Triple H smirked.

Triple H: Cody, you should be proud that you've finally decided to stop being the lackey. That you've finally decided to at least try to live up to the potential everyone has said you have. I give you credit for that. Do I think you're bat shit crazy, and too weird to ever really be anyone or anything major?... Of course I do.. but it's better than the Cody Rhodes who just talked about being the son of a superstar so much that he forgot to try and be one himself. People don't care about your father.. they don't.. they never did. They wanted to know who you were.. what you were all about.. and up until just recently.. the one word that came to mind is.. well.. soft.

Triple H laughed.

Triple H: You were softer than your brother looking at Maxim magazine, Cody, you let people walk all over you. Then something clicked, you realized that YOU needed to be the aggressor, that you needed to take the bull by its horns, if you didn't want to fade into obscurity. So you did, though you came off a little kooky and quite frankly painfully strange, you were at least memorable. People for the first time cared about you, be it good or bad.. they gave a crap. They've bought it Cody, they are picking up what you are putting down, they think you are dangerous, they think you're unhinged... dare I say it some people.. might even be afraid of you.. but let me let you in on a little secret, jack..... I'm NOT.

Triple H smirked once again pulling some of the hair in his face to the back of his head.

Triple H: I'm not afraid of you, I don't feel like I'm in any danger, and the only way you could truly prove to me that you are unhinged, is if you do or say anything over the next couple of days to put me in more of an ass kicking mood than I'm already in. I know deep down, like you do Cody, that thought it may have clicked that you can't be that soft weak worthless piece of crap you were to get ahead in this company, I know that in all actuality THAT is REALLY who you are. I've seen too many guys walk in and out of this company to be able to differentiate who's who, and what's what.. and no matter what you'd like me and everyone else to believe.. you Cody, are not vile, you are not ruthless, you are that same creampuff that you've always been. This Monday Night, I am going to do something that should have been done to you already. I am going to EXPOSE you. I am going to show every single person watching Warfare two things. The first, is that I am still the baddest damn guy in not only this business, but on the god damn planet. The second, that you have no business being in MY RING, that you should stop trying to fool everyone into thinking you are something you're not, and focus on a more suitable career for you, like being the guy at Hollister with his shirt off welcoming customers to the store. This is a man's world, it's a man's sport, and simply put Cody.. you just aren't MAN enough for it.

Triple H stared dead into the camera to offer his final thoughts.

Triple H: The time for talking is over now. It's time for me to produce, it's for me to make good on my promises and what I'm saying to all of you right now, as I've done many times before. For any of those who may doubt the validity of what's been said here tonight, to them I say.. thank you. To Dean Ambrose, The Shield, and Syxx, thank you too.. You have all contributed to what will be the biggest "I'm BACK" statement this company has ever seen on Monday Night. Triple H has A LOT of miles left on the tires.. my career is FAR from done.. which is something nobody will be able to say for Cody Rhodes if he tries to stand in my way on Monday Night. Monday Night, Cody Rhodes and everyone else will learn that I am STILL.. THAT... DAMN.. GOOD.. they will learn that The Game is FAR FROM OVER...they will see that without a shadow of a doubt... that the Game is JUST BEGINNING!

STATIC and green lights once again.. The screen refocused on H' once again maniacally laughing to himself. STATIC once more... and the scene faded to black.
