OOC: Being sick all week and having assignments hasn't helped me with this but at least I've got something written.
Ted DiBiase had a goal now and a clear vision for where he had to go in EBWF. He was there to elevate the young wrestlers in the back, to show to everyone that there is no need for old, former stars to return. Tonight DiBiase was scheduled to face Syxx in a match. Ted was dressed to compete as he stood near Matt Striker waiting to be interviewed.
Matt Striker: Welcome everybody to Summerslam, we have an amazing night of matches ahead. In the main event we have Dean Ambrose defending his World Championship against Randy Orton. With me at this time is another person competing tonight, Ted DiBiase. So Ted, tonight you'll be taking on Syxx in singles competition. What are your thoughts going into the match?
Ted Jr: I think it's great to face Syxx tonight. Hopefully by losing to me he realises that it's not the 90s anymore. Syxx's stock in EBWF has fallen dramatically. One month he's facing the World Champion in a match with a lot of build up to now being put in a match without even being advertised heavily. It's becoming abundantly clear that Syxx is only here for another pay check and why doesn't that surprise anyone? When I retire, I'll stay retired. When I leave this company I won't need to come back because I've lost everything. I have more money than you can imagine Syxx. I'm not here for that. I'm here purely to take down you returning old timers who still think that nostalgia is the greatest thing ever.
Matt Striker: You noted that Syxx did indeed challenge for the World Championship, so does that mean that a victory over him will push you closer to a World Championship title shot?
Ted Jr: Theoretically yes, but knowing Jericho he'll probably call in Goldberg or Hulk Hogan and give them title shots. Because why push the amazing young talent here when there are 40, 50 and 60 year old washed up wrestlers that are broke.
Matt Striker: You have recently come out and said that you're a Heyman guy alongside AJ Styles. Does this mean that there could be a potential partnership between the two of you?
Ted Jr: We were a team originally when we were in the Trilogy. We share the same view but we are not a team. We are both represented by Paul Heyman. That's not to say that a team couldn't form down the line but right now AJ has his thing while I have mine.
Matt Striker: Any final words for Syxx before your match?
Ted Jr: When you started Syxx, you were a great wrestler and you succeeded based on your skill and the company pushing younger talent. By coming back when you're clearly past your prime you're taking that opportunity away from the younger talent. There are guys out the back including myself that have the skills to make it anywhere in the world, but you and the incompetent interim CEO Chris Jericho take that opportunity away from us. Tonight I've got the chance to finally show Jericho why it's the younger talent here that should be acknowledged for their skills and not old wrestlers looking for another pay check.
