I wish I could start this post by saying I wish our readers a Happy New Year full of blessings and whatnot. I really wish I could… But I can't. Did you guys watch EBWF's Christmas Eve of Destruction? -Yes, advertised as Wes Ikeda Presents: EBWF's CEOD; even though he didn't show up.
Once the night was over, the nerds and geeks and marks from 4chan, Reddit and any other rathole you could imagine united in joy to celebrate the crowning of a brand new EBWF World Champion:
Nice abs, I'll give him that.
You know, the fact this guy has MIDCARD written all over his face is not a problem.
We've all seen some mid carders who have held the strap before miserably fumbling it a few weeks later… It's Just like in real life, when you go out with a girl while deep down inside you know is not your type. We have all been guilty of the infamous "Get in, get off, get out."
I'll try not to drift off, but after doing a google search on this guy, I feel kind of obliged:

Again, this isn't a rant about a mid carder who got handed the belt. It has happened before, I'm pretty sure no one suspected Dean Ambrose would hold on to the belt for almost 5 months. That's how business works: You go with a guy and push him, you either get a Dean Ambrose or a Ted DiBiase Jr. Now, regarding EBWF's new World Champion, I'm inclined towards the latter.
At least he can convey my emotions regarding his title reign.
Why? That's the question being asked in mother's basements all over the country. Why? Because you simply don't push a 5 foot nothing, hundred pounder kid who has never taken business seriously; especially when you put him over more deserving, hard working superstars.

We all know this year will be CRUCIAL for business. Rumor has it TNA is folding, Vince McMahon has reportedly been offering jobs to every big draw and your mom to get back into the WWE, and with the WWE Network in the horizon, the only realistic competition WWE would have is EBWF.
Instead of going with the talents they have been grooming for nearly a year (AJ Styles, John Cena, The Miz, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes), they toss the belt to a guy who hadn't won a match in over three months!
I don't know Greg Marasciuolo, I don't know how he's been bedding AJ Lee for over a year now, I don't get the Question Mark thing either, but the question that baffles me the most is how did he go over EBWF's biggest star and best paid commodity, Randall Keith Orton.
Could it be that being engaged to a star of the Divas division like AJ Lee gave him the upper hand? One would think sleeping with the Executive vice-president of global media would me much more of a "Trump card", but the cards have been dealt and this chump is the new World Champion.
Maybe he's popular with the ladies and EBWF wants to find new markets?
This is clear proof that EBWF is a headless organization right now: They take a guy like Trent Barreta, eliminate his last name and change it for a question mark, they push him for a World Title shot but then do absolutely nothing to build him up, yet they still have him going over their biggest draw.
Enjoy the high life while it lasts, kid.
With it's World Tour around the corner, EBWF fans around the world will get a chance to cement their faith in the promotion and believe it or not, it is up to that kid Trent to deliver. Here's to hoping this whole Trent? trend ends sooner than later.
