Pwinsider News and Notes

Post by Juan Ramirez »

It has been quite an active week for the world of Wrestling, between TNA losing the Impact Zone in Orlando, Jeff Jarrett teasing he is working in a new project and the WWE Network's imminent launch; EBWF also has made a few headlines on it's own.

- AJ Lee, Kaytlin, Paige, Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews, Maryse, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Fandango, Cody Rhodes, Tyler Breeze, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater and Ryback's profiles were removed from the EBWF.net website. While CM Punk's profile was moved to the alumni section. There is no word on Punk's current EBWF status, allegedly his contract expired, but both parts are on good terms. A Royal Rumble return is unlikely.

- Given the massive amount of Christmas Layoffs, there are a lot of angles which have to be tweaked. AJ Lee was once touted to be crucial in Trent-question mark's rise to the main event, and there were plans to have her involved in the Cage of Death match at one point. Lee's departure reportedly would have the current EBWF World Champion on thin ice, specially considering they were about to 'tie the knot' on EBWF Television. An inside source told PWinsider that the Wedding was supposedly going to take place on Warfare's first show of the year. These releases are also confirmed not to be a work, and true reasons remain undisclosed.

- Leo Kruger is also a superstar who has been affected by Christmas Layoffs. He had been working on and off with Paige and had a program with Ryback scheduled. Word around backstage says that Kruger has been a good worker in the ring, but the lack of involvement in angles with other superstars has caused him to become irrelevant. Kruger was the Breakout champion for nearly seven months, his only defeat came in during the King of the Ring tournament. He recently lost the title to Daniel Bryan. An inner source commented "It was time for a change, it is time for Leo Kruger's character to get involved more in the mid card".

- Zack Ryder's last EBWF match took place last Monday night at the AllState arena in Chicago, Illinois. Ryder reportedly allowed his contract to expire, he left amicably and left the door open as well.

- More releases are expected to take place, most likely after the rumble. Ted Dibiase seems to be on his way out, Alongside Justin Gabriel and Eve Torres.

- Cody Rhodes' release means his brother Dusty Rhodes won't be appearing on EBWF TV anytime soon. There were plans to have the brothers work an angle on Television, but with Cody out of the picture, a second EBWF run of the Golden one seems unlikely. However, a one night showing for the Royal Rumble could happen.

- Speaking of the EBWF World Champion, the opinion in the back is split 50/50 on wether he should have gone over Randy Orton at CEOD. Reportedly, both men received a huge ovation backstage after the match from every single EBWF superstar, but no one expected the EBWF World Title to change hands, specially after Randy's recent showings. Current plans seem to be to have John Cena cashing in his PTG title somewhere along WrestleMania Season and push Randy Orton heavily yo win the Royal Rumble. Trent-question mark is seen by most backstage as a "Transition champion".

- Regarding the Royal Rumble match, rumor has it the EBWF door is swung open for everyone. As stated by Interim CEO Chris Jericho during Warfare last week, even Wes Ikeda and Himself will throw their hats into the ring for the brawl. EBWF is pushing hard for a 30 man Royal Rumble, so you can pretty much expect all kinds of surprises for this year's edition of the Rumble. Alex Shelley usually shows up for the Rumble, alongside Raven, Edge, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore. Reportedly no big names are being discussed. The Rock has always been open to business with the EBWF despite he and Ikeda have never seen each other eye to eye, but he began rolling his new TV Project with HBO and Mark Wahlberg called "Ballers", a source within EBWF told us that Dwayne Johnson being able to squeeze the Royal Rumble in his schedule is "Just a phone call away". There is a poll at the top where you can tell us, which of the EBWF alumni would you like to return to the rumble most (Sorry Walkenliebers, Braden is out of contest).

- Apparently, Brock Lesnar's name popped up during a recent business meeting. Brock has had a couple of failed runs with EBWF, but the Board of Directors is seemingly very interested in having Lesnar come. Paul Heyman could play a vital role in Lesnar's signing.

- Going along the lines of Paul Heyman guys, Ken Anderson and Wes Ikeda were tweeting at each other a couple of nights ago, here are the tweets:
MrKenAnderson: RT - AlexMFNShelley: @WesIkeda Shit...umm...I'm going to need somewhere else to hide.

Wes Ikeda: @MrKenAnderson WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN??
01/06/14 21:30

MrKenAnderson: @WesIkeda Running a motorcycle gang apparently.
01/06/14 21:34

Wes Ikeda: @MrKenAnderson I need to call you. Seriously.
01/06/14 21:37
Will these tweets mean the beginning of the proctological loud wrestler from Green Bay, Wisconsin?

- As you can see, the EBWF Chairman seems to be on a busy week. According to his Twitter, this week he and John Cena will be 'busy'.
Wes Ikeda: @J.Cena and I are busy this week. #DeadBatteries #DanceRecitals #DoubleDate
01/08/14 01:44
Wes Ikeda: If the biggest contract in history includes packing peanuts and bubble wrap Meltzer might be on to something. @J.Cena drives a hard bargain. The internet is talking business more than we are.
Does this mean contract talks are underway? It looks like Cena is going to get the most ludicrous contract in Wrestling history, something along the lines of Randy Orton's ten year deal with EBWF.

- Another contract that is set to expire soon is Trent-question mark's contract. The brand new World Champion was signed to a Three year deal back in January 2010. Negotiations are most likely going to be easy, but would his recent title win make the 11th best paid male wrestler in EBWF go a little higher up the ranks? We'll see.

- Lords of Pain recently posted an article where they revealed current EBWF Salaries, most of these figures weren't mean to be public and have caused all sorts of speculations, conspiracy theories and rants amongst fans. However, an inner source states that things in the back weren't taken that seriously and he was quoted saying "We don't know the exact numbers of how much everyone earns, but we acknowledge some earn more than others. Just like in the real world".
