Ex-TNA Star Accused of Rape

Former TNA Wrestler Accused of Rape, Victim John Cena’s Wife
April 9, 2014

SAINT LOUIS, Mo - A former TNA Wrestler is accused of raping and brutalizing his former girlfriend in her St. Louis home in early March.

St. Louis county prosecutors are poised to charge Orlando Florida resident, Jesse Sorensen, with 1st degree rape, kidnapping, assault, battery and the attempted murder of 32-year old Danielle Costa. Costa works in the graphics department of EBWF, is a renowned fashion photographer, and the wife of EBWF Superstar, John Cena.

It is unknown how Sorensen gained entry into the home Costa shared with her husband. Prosecutors say what happened to Costa was “brutal, sickening, highly disturbing, premeditated and calculated”.

During the course of their two year relationship, Sorensen and Costa, lived a quiet, private life, with Costa remaining behind the camera, and Sorensen being a C-Lister in the fledgeling TNA Wrestling promotion in Orlando, Florida. They began dating in 2010, and were engaged to be married in 2011. They called off their engagement in Summer 2012, but sources indicate that Costa did not move out of their Orlando home until the fall. Within five months of moving back to St. Louis, Costa had met Cena, and they were secretly married. Costa was previously married to Dr. Jackson Montgomery, a pediatric neurosurgeon at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. This is also Cena’s second marriage.

The whirlwind romance between Costa and Cena erupted when in March of 2013, Cena and Sorensen were in a highly publicized bar brawl near Buffalo, New York. Sorensen seemed to fade from public view several months later when he was released from TNA Wrestling. He was living in the house he had shared with Costa until five months ago. Legal documents in Orange County, Florida show the house in a suburb of Orlando is registered solely in Costa’s name, and is currently on the market. Sources close to the situation say Cena and Costa evicted Sorensen.

Costa began to become more prevalent in the news media last winter when EBWF confirmed that she and Cena had married, and she began accompanying him and his high profile friends to EBWF and charity events. The media frenzy picked up just two months ago, when after 10 months of marriage, Cena and Costa had announced their separation and their intent to divorce. No legal paperwork to proceed with the divorce was ever filed.

Prosecutors will try to argue that Cena’s fame, and Costa’s association with him, being constantly publicized to Sorensen lead the former boyfriend to seek revenge against Cena by hurting his wife. Sorensen has been hospitalized due to injuries he suffered in the alleged attack, and though he was released last week he is only now been declared fit to attend his arraignment. The proceedings are scheduled for tomorrow. Sorensen is expected to plead not guilty. It is also expected that he will be held without bond.

Danielle Costa appeared at the EBWF Slammy Awards with her husband, wearing a sling and a heavily taped wrist and hand, an injury she is believed to have allegedly suffered at the hands of Sorensen. When reached for comment, EBWF Legal Counsel Richard Roberts said the couple no longer had plans to divorce, “Mr. Cena and Mrs. Costa were always committed to trying to work out their differences and make their marriage work. While it is unfortunate that this tragic event expedited their reconciliation, I have no reason to believe that they wouldn’t have continued to work on their relationship.” Roberts will be serving on the prosecution team as personal counsel to Mrs. Costa. It is expected that the case will go to trial.

Today is John Cena and Danielle Costa’s first wedding anniversary.

Editors Note: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch received leads on this story within two days of Danielle Costa’s release from an area hospital. It is the policy of our publication to respect the privacy of the alleged victim, and due to the high profile appearances Mrs. Costa made in relation to her work last week, we held the story, out of respect, to prevent her having to answer questions about her ordeal. I had completely forgotten about that massive, epic bar brawl between our locker room and TNA's.

Do you think our newcomers would like to check it out?
