Ted DiBiase was unsuccessful at Wrestlemania but he was enjoyed his match and the event was a success in his eyes. He, Sydal and The Miz all put on a great match and all of them definitely left it all in the ring. Since then, Sydal and Miz continued to feud over the Intercontinental Championship while Ted took a couple of weeks off. He spent his time off with his wife and young son who both enjoyed Wrestlemania immensely. Tate was disappointed that his father didn't win and was concerned after Ted took some big bumps, but after the match Ted saw his son and made sure to tell him that he was ok. After the nice and relaxing break Ted was set to return to action in Richmond, Virginia at the Richmond Coliseum against the World Champion and new Paul Heyman guy, Brock Lesnar. Ted was surprised that he was being put in the ring with the World Champion, and hoped that after moving away from the Intercontinental Championship scene he could get involved in the World Title picture in the near future. On the Monday of Warfare, Ted was called by Shane McMahon to meet him in the afternoon to talk about plans for the future and his match later that night. So Ted arrived at the Richmond Coliseum early, like usual and it didn't take him too long to find Shane in one of the offices in the arena. The door to Shane's office was closed so Ted knocked on it a couple of times. Within seconds the door opened and Shane welcomed him into the office.
Shane McMahon: Thanks for meeting me here Ted.
Ted Jr: It's no problem.
Shane McMahon: I've got to start off by commending you on your performance at Mania with Miz and Sydal.
Ted Jr: Thanks Shane, credit has to go to both of them as well. We worked hard over the last couple months and the match was a hit.
Shane McMahon: So as you already know, tonight you're in the main event against Lesnar. With Lesnar facing Cena at the PPV and the history that you had with Cena and Heyman, we think this will be a great match up.
Ted Jr: So I'm putting Lesnar over?
Shane McMahon: It hasn't been decided yet, you probably know now that things change so much in the lead up to a show.
Ted Jr: So are you putting me in the World Title picture?
Shane McMahon: With Cena cashing in the PTG title for the shot, he's the only one facing Lesnar at this stage. However there is a possibility that you could be in line for a shot at the PTG Championship. You've put some good work in for the last few months and if you keep it up you could get a title run.
Ted Jr: That's what I've been pushing for, any ideas on a storyline for me going forward? I know its early days after Wrestlemania.
Shane McMahon: There's nothing set in stone yet, Aftermath generally has repeats from Mania and not a lot of new storylines. I expect a lot of matches to be booked with not a lot of build-up. Just put on a good show with Lesnar and we'll see where it goes from there. Now you've got to tape an interview with Renee Young now, so don't keep her waiting.
Ted Jr: Good talking to you Shane.
The two shook hands and Ted headed out of the office and in search of the interview set. It didn't take him too long to find the set with Renee Young standing by with a camera man in position and ready to film.
Renee Young: Ted! Do you mind if I get a couple of words with you?
Ted Jr: Sure.
Renee talked with the camera man quickly to make sure that everything was set up and ready to go. She then stood next to Ted and the interview began.
Renee Young: Good evening everyone, with me at this time is Ted DiBiase who is set to face the World Champion in tonight’s main event. How do you think you'll fare against the Beast Incarnate?
Ted Jr: He's big, he's strong and he's the World Champion. It’s clear that I'm the underdog in this fight and I've accepted that. What I need to do tonight is to shock everyone and pin the World Champion.
Renee Young: Brock Lesnar has burst onto the scene in EBWF here, winning the World Championship in his first night, attacking Wes Ikeda and then successfully defending his championship at Wrestlemania against Dolph Ziggler. The momentum has to be on his side.
Ted Jr: He's done extremely well in his limited time here in EBWF, but can he sustain it? I started off extremely well here in EBWF as well, winning the World Championship within 3 months of arriving but since then I haven't held the championship again. With Paul Heyman at his side, the two look impossible to defeat. But everybody loses at some stage. Whether it's tonight or 6 months down the road, he'll lose.
Renee Young: Last week John Cena announced that he's cashing in his PTG Championship to face Lesnar for the title, a win tonight for you would surely put you in contention to face the winner of that match.
Ted Jr: That's all I can hope to do, I'll watch Cena and Lesnar beat the holy hell out of each other and when I win tonight, I expect the next championship match.
Renee Young: Who do you favour in a match between Cena and Lesnar?
Ted Jr: Cena hasn't held the World Championship in years, he's more motivated than ever to get it.
Renee Young: With the PTG Championship becoming vacant at Aftermath, with a strong performance here tonight do you expect to see yourself in contention to hold the title?
Ted Jr: Last time it was vacant, I challenged for it, and you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be challenging for it again. But every other wrestler on the roster knows the value of that championship now. It's a guaranteed World Title shot to whoever holds it, so I expect every wrestler in the back to fight for that title.
Renee Young: Any final words for Lesnar before your match tonight?
Ted took the microphone from Renee and the camera focused in on him.
Ted Jr: Lesnar, you're the champ and you've got Heyman talking in your ear. Soon enough you're going to realise that Heyman is nothing more than a parasite who will leech off of you and you'll cut him loose like I did and just like AJ did. Tonight you see me as the little defenceless animal thrown into the lion's den, well I'm not. I'm nobody's prey, I'm Ted DiBiase. I'm the guy that's going to give you your first loss here. I'm the guy that's going to surprise you tonight. You'll have Heyman calling me scum and nothing but an underachiever and you'll underestimate me. But you don't know anything until you step into the ring with me and see. You're stronger than me, sure. But I'm smarter than you, I'm faster than you, and I've got a hell of a lot more to gain from beating you than you do beating me. So enjoy tonight Lesnar, enjoy that wonderful run that you had until now. Enjoy being the champ while you still are because tonight I'm pinning you and if Cena doesn't take the championship off of you then I will.
Ted handed the microphone back to Renee and the interview ended. Ted walked off the interview set after thanking Renee. He was excited for this match, he hadn't been near the World Title for some time and even though this was a non-title match a win tonight would definitely put him in contention for a title opportunity in the future.
