(Any mention of TNA anything is EBWF. Just go with it.)
EBWF Diva Velvet Sky was recently a guest on the Boomer and Carton podcast which airs on the CBS Sports Network. The beauty from Connecticut had a little down time to kill before making a second appearance on Hot 97's morning show with Peter Rosenberg.
Velvet Sky decided to return home (Waterbury, CT) for a few days to relax and unwind before returning to the road for EBWF's upcoming PPV Death Before Dishonor.
When asked about what she does in her down time, she replied, "Nothing. I usually throw on some sweat pants, throw my hair back in a ponytail and lounge. I am an avid gamer and movie fanatic. You don't get much downtime in the wrestling industry. To get the chance to sleep in your own bed is a special treat. So I like to indulge and make the most of it... so to speak."
Velvet Sky is one half of the mean girl duo the Beautiful People. We asked how she felt about her partner, Angelina Love, being the only one of the two who is a former Women's champion (x2). "Angelina works her butt off and I totally respect her. I may not always agree with her choices, her temper is pretty well known in the locker room and out in the ring. However, we are a tag team, so we're in this together. Am I intimidated that she's a former champion and I'm not?", Velvet paused for a few moments. "No. My time will come. I take a backseat to no one and you better believe I will have gold in my future."
We asked the fans to send in a few questions to ask Velvet Sky using the hashtag #AskVelvet
Q: What's your biggest weakness? #AskVelvet
A: Food! Namely junk food. Anything oreo is pretty much a win for me
I'm part Italian and Polish, food has always been a big thing in my family.
Q: Will we ever see you in singles competition again? Not that I don't love TBP. I do! #AskVelvet
A: Definitely. I love teaming with Ange, but there will absolutely be a time
that I need to focus on a solo career again.
For now, though, I'm having too much fun with the Beautiful People.
Q: Do you date coworkers or keep it professional? #AskVelvet
A: Always keep it professional. I have dated a coworker in the past, so I
don't like to make silly rules about not dating in the work place. You never know what might
happen. You just have to be careful mixing business with pleasure.
Double edge sword sometimes.
Q: Are you dating the Miz?!? I saw you two flirtin'! I saw it!! #AskVelvet
A: You go out to have drinks with someone and suddenly you're
dating... never knew. To answer your question, no. I'm single and I have been for
quite some time. Mike... Miz, is a really great guy. He's a lot of fun to be around,
and so sweet. Not to mention he's not terrible on the eyes...
Q: Favorite place to be? #AskVelvet
A: Yankee stadium! So many memories and my love for Baseball
is kind of ridiculous. Otherwise, I love being in the woods in CT.
So much beautiful scenary to explore and you get far away from people.
It's a nice escape.
Q: Who are some of your favorite Divas to work with? #AskVelvet
A: On screen? Only Angelina Love. I'm not allowed to like
anyone else outside of the Beautiful People. Outside of the ring is a whole
other story. Michelle McCool is such a hard worker and so dedicated. I love
training in the ring with Natalya and Trish Stratus. Two amazing women and
I've learned so much from them! MsChif is one of the smartest, most down
to earth girls I know. I actually enjoy working with all the girls in EBWF.
All of us work so hard and travel constantly together. Being so close sort of
becomes a sisterhood in a way. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
After the interview, Al challenged Velvet to an arm wrestling match in which he was defeated. We here at the podcast now have a reason to give Al hell for the rest of his career. He was beaten by a girl!
