It had been a rocky road for the Trilogy. One week you felt as though they were about to take over the company as they once had in 2012, the next, AJ Styles is fired, leaving The Miz and Ted DiBiase to sit back and wonder, what's next? The answer to that question was, a tag team match between the remaining to Trilogy members and Daniel Rodimer and Damien Sandow. Time will tell if these two guys could regain their composure enough, to return to form in the EBWF.
The scene opened up backstage of an EBWF House Show. Michael Cole was standing by as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler introduced him.
Jim Ross: Michael Cole is standing by backstage, Michael.
Cole touched his ear, and then started to speak.
Michael Cole: Thanks Jim, we are currently backstage and are waiting for.. wait.. here they come.
The camera panned down the hall where Ted DiBiase and The Miz both made their way towards Cole. They both wore designer suits and were dressed to the nines. Cole wanted a word.
Michael Cole: Guys a quick word if I may.
Miz and Ted looked at each other.
The Miz: If you must..
Ted DiBiase: Make it quick Cole, we got things to do.
Michael Cole: Like what?
The Miz: Like not talk to you, speed it up.
Michael Cole: Right, well I just wanted to get your thoughts on what has transpired over the past couple of weeks here. Your former partner and good friend AJ Styles has been fired from the EBWF, what does this mean for you guys?
The Miz: No comment.
Michael Cole: Really? Come on guys... Ted?
Ted DiBiase: No comment.
Michael looked extremely disappointed.
Michael Cole: Well what's next? How do you respond? This week you face Damien Sandow and Daniel Rodimer in a tag team match? Your thoughts.
The Miz: Michael, a lot of things have changed over the past couple weeks as you so intrusively alluded to, but one thing hasn't changed, and that is that I am The Miz and this is Ted DiBiase. We are two of the best superstars to ever lace up the boots. Are things perfect right now? No. But is it so bad that we are going to lose to two absolute jamoaks like Sandow and Rodimer? Of course it's not. Look, this isn't the exact way that we drew it up. This isn't what we had in mind, but the fact of the matter is this. The Miz and Ted DiBiase are never going to lose to Daniel Rodimer and Damien Sandow, it's just not going to happen, hash.. tag fact... hash tag.. be jealous... because you both suck.
Ted smirked as did the Miz, Cole wasn't as impressed.
Michael Cole: Fans can't help but wonder, is the clock ticking on you two. AJ Styles was your defacto leader, is there trouble ahead for you both.
Ted DiBiase: What kind of question is that Cole? Huh? Seriously, haven't you listened to a damn word we've said? We don't have a leader, we are.. well we were 3 guys hell bent on ruining the lives of everyone in this business. With AJ gone, Miz and I haven't lost that focus, and it starts with Daniel Rodimer and Damien Sandow. There's no clock ticking on us, unless it's a countdown to when Rodimer and Sandow get their asses kicked. If so that clock is about 24 hours away Michael. In 24 hours, it'll be extremely clear that the only people in trouble are those two guys. Ted DiBiase and The Miz.. are fine.. and we will continue to be fine. There are no bad days, when you wake up and you're us. Something that Rodimer and Sandow are going to wish they could experience after you beat them into an oblivion on Monday Night.
The Miz: Honestly Cole.. how dare you even ask us if trouble is ahead. Really? Really Cole? You're going to ask US if trouble is ahead for us. Do you even know who we are Michael? Just because we lose a soldier in our group, doesn't mean the end is near. Yes we were the best trio ever, but you take one out of that trio, and you get one of the best duo's ever, and even if we were a below average duo, we are still more than enough to get by a team like Rodimer and Sandow. I mean is this the higher ups idea of apologizing to us.. Yeah we fired your friend.. so here's a layup for you.. so everything is all good. Well I don't know why we are facing Rodimer and Sandow, and to be honest I really don't care. All I know is we could have been facing Big Foot and Godzilla, because there was just no way that we weren't walking out of Warfare with a victory. We are winning on Monday.. end of sentence.
Ted DiBiase: Yeah Cole.. so shut your mouth.. unless you're going to ask a better question.
Michael went to ask another question, but Miz interrupted.
The Miz: As a matter of fact Michael, don't bother. We both know you aren't good enough at your job to hold our interest. Make a mental note of this. ON Monday night, The Miz and Ted DiBiase are going to make Damien Sandow and Daniel Rodimer wish they had chosen another career. Pro wrestling is our neighborhood, it's our playground, and we are better at it than anyone else in this world. You don't believe us, come try and call my bluff. Go ahead.. I dare you.. because if you do.. you will be made an example of. I want everyone to think that Miz and DiBiase are in trouble.. because the second you let your guard down.. that is when you or ANYONE else is going to get hurt.. because we are STILL the Trilogy.. and we're....
Ted DiBiase: Awesome.
Miz pushed Cole down as both he and Ted made their way out of the scene.
