Building momentum

Post by Kyle »

Daniel Bryan hadn't been seen for some time on EBWF tv, but it was now his time to shine. He would be squaring off against Bray Wyatt. Shortly before Warfare kicked off Bryan was scheduled to have an interview with Renee Young. He was standing with her at the interview set as she began her introduction.

Renee Young: Welcome everyone to Warfare, we've got an explosive night for you with Edge taking on The Miz in our main event, but kicking things off tonight is Bray Wyatt taking on the man with me at this time Daniel Bryan. Now Daniel, you haven't been featured on Warfare for some time do you see tonight as an opportunity to put yourself back on everyone's radar?

Daniel Bryan: Of course. People don't understand the range of talent here in EBWF. Anyone on this roster could be a World Champion in any other organisation. So to get noticed you have to put yourself at the top of the pack, you have to impress everyone. Tonight I've got that chance to make an impression. I may only be in the opening match but it's an opportunity nonetheless.

Renee Young: Now you're set to face Bray Wyatt who is an interesting individual to say the least. He speaks in riddles but in the ring is vicious. How will you combat the much larger opponent you have tonight?

Daniel Bryan: It's no surprise that Bray Wyatt is speaking in riddles, he's trying to get into my head. He's done that with countless other opponents but those opponents were weak. Bray Wyatt is the deranged preacher man who preys on the confused and vulnerable. I'm neither. I've got my eyes focused on only one thing. Winning. So I invite Bray to use any and all mind games he might have because they won't work at all. He's bigger and stronger than me, there's no denying that. But I'm faster, more technically sound and that is what wins matches. Not brute strength but skill. A wrestling match is like a game of chess, you can try and go all out attack, but it takes one move to change the match and to end it. One moment of weakness, one missed move and its all over.

Renee Young: Bray Wyatt has been successful thus far in EBWF, getting a victory over the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley, and will likely be looking to gain a victory over you, being a former Breakout Champion, to push his case for a title match.

Daniel Bryan: Everyone in EBWF can be used as a stepping stone to reach up the ladder but I'm not going to simply let him win. If he defeats me tonight he will have earned that win. He will have done enough to truly deserve the win. He might be pushing for a Breakout Championship title shot but I'm aiming higher. I want the Path to Glory Championship. I want the Intercontinental Championship. I want the World Championship. That's what I want and that's what this match against Bray Wyatt is going to put me on the track towards. Now a victory over Wyatt won't put me in contention for any of those titles but it puts me up against others who will. It builds me up, gives me momentum heading into important matches and working my way up to the Royal Rumble, which is some time away but if I have the momentum that I need to put myself into contention to win the Royal Rumble match I will have that World Championship match that I have dreamed about.

Renee Young: Any final words for Bray tonight before your match?

Daniel Bryan: Proclaim your prophecies, talk in riddles but when I'm standing in that ring opposite you, you only have 2 things to consider. Tap or Snap. I will not be a stepping stone for you tonight and I will not be silenced.

With that Daniel left the interview set and walked off as Warfare went live.
