The annual Survivor Series pay-per-view was taking place at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin and we had already seen Stardust retain his Breakout Championship against Vampiro, Dolph Ziggler defeated Bray Wyatt inside the steel cage whilst Velvet Sky became the new Women’s Champion. The highly anticipated traditional five-on-five Survivor Series match was next and Sami Zayn was part of CM Punk’s promising team, spearheaded by the Best in the World; Dean Ambrose, Sting and Enzo Amore also were part of the team. Not even a determined Sami Zayn was able to help Team Punk to victory, with many twists and turns in the match, it was Justin Gabriel who sealed Zayn’s fate, taking the Intercontinental Champion down with a discus elbow smash before climbing to the top rope and connecting with the impressive 450 Splash to eliminate Zayn.
Christy Hemme updated the fans that Sami Zayn had been eliminated and those that knew Zayn well would understand that he was frustrated by being eliminated. He was sat on the floor breathing heavily as he watched what was left of his team trying to overcome the dominance of Team Barrett. After hitting the ground with his fist, he picked up his Intercontinental Championship and placed it over his shoulder as he made the long walk back up the ramp, slapping the hands of fans who reached forward to touch the champ. Reaching backstage, he quickly made his way towards a television set to continue watching the rest of the event with the other talent surrounding the monitors to not miss any of the action, as the match rolled on the backstage area could also hear the final bell as Team Barrett was declared victorious, with CM Punk unable to handle the situation on his own. Nevertheless, Sami Zayn continued to walk as he reached Renee Young who was waiting to catch a word with the champion in a live interview before the next match could begin.
RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time is the Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn. Sami, a valiant effort out there but you were eliminated by Justin Gabriel and your team was unable to win, your thoughts?
SAMI ZAYN
Well Renee, it sucks. Plain and simple. I genuinely thought will all my heart that this dysfunctional team could actually win but we came so close to fall and it’s not even the fact that we lost, it’s what we’ll now have to deal with, as if Wade and Ryback’s ego’s weren’t big enough already. But…I am proud of the guys, Sting brought it all and gave his all, Enzo was thrown into the deep end and he was unlucky and Punk showed that stay down attitude and we were unlucky, any other day and I believe we’d have gotten that win. As for myself, I am disappointed because I was convinced I would do more, do more to help the team and do more to make an impact but tonight it was Justin Gabriel who stopped me, we have a little history in the EBWF as he has a victory over me and I hold one victory over him, that’s one a piece but now he has the bragging rights by pinning me tonight and that’s something I’ll need to change real soon.
RENEE YOUNG
Well you mentioned how close your team came…what next for you guys? Will you regroup and come back stronger?
SAMI ZAYN
Honestly, I don’t think so. Punk needed us and we were all willing to help him because he’s a great wrestler and a great friend, but I know and they all know that we don’t need each other as much because all of our paths are different. Punk will do things differently, Ambrose will do things differently, I don’t know what Sting is planning and all I am focusing on right now is defending my Intercontinental Championship against anyone and everyone that stands in my way, whether that be tomorrow night on Warfare, or at the Christmas Eve of Destruction.
RENEE YOUNG
Now before we let you go Sami, our main event tonight will see John Cena defend his EBWF Championship against Solomon Crowe and it’s no secret that you know Solomon Crowe the most on the roster, what’s your predictions for the match tonight?
SAMI ZAYN
I may know him the best but that doesn’t mean it’s a good thing, y’know he kicked my ass on his first appearance and in his first match he got himself a championship match…he’s dangerous and he will do everything in his power to get what he wants so all I can tell John is to be careful, the result…the championship could change hands.
Renee Young gasped a little as she was surprised by Sami’s bold prediction that the EBWF World Championship could change hands, and that a newcomer who nobody has barely seen could dethrone the long-time champion. As he made the statement, Sami nodded to Renee and walked off the set and towards his locker room to watch the remainder of the event. As Survivor Series rolled on and came to a close, Solomon Crowe was crowned the new EBWF World Champion to the fans surprise. The fans were slowly starting to disperse and leave the arena, but the EBWF superstars and divas were to be sticking around a little while longer to cool down, freshen up and leave for their hotels or travel to the next city. Sami Zayn was still in his locker room and turned off the television at the conclusion of the event, and had a grin on his face as he did so before hearing a knock on the door and before Zayn could even answer the call, the door swung open and in walked the new champion, Solomon Crowe.
Sami turned around on his chair and looked at Crowe who was standing in the room as he shut the door behind him, a straight look on his face which suggested he was still shocked at the events that took place. Sami got up off of his chair and the two walked towards one another, slowly embracing as friends as Zayn congratulated Crowe on his huge championship win. Crowe took a seat of his own and cooled down whilst staring at the belt as Zayn handed him a bottle of water and sat back in his own seat with his Intercontinental Championship in tow and looked at his friend before talking.
RAMI SEBEI
I watched the match in here, very impressive. You handled yourself well, and I am proud of you; I think we all believed in you that you had the potential but to actually go out there and do that…a huge congratulations doesn’t even cover it.
SAM JOHNSTON
Thanks…I…I still can’t believe I’ve actually got this right now and that hard work has paid off and I know, before you say it wise guy I know the hard work is starting but I’m still soaking it all in. I made my singles debut at Survivor Series where guys like The Rock and The Undertaker debuted, I competed opposite John Cena…John freakin’ Cena…and I was the winner and got the title…unbelievable.
RAMI SEBEI
You’re damn right the hard work starts now because there’s long line of guys at the back who don’t like you, who don’t know you and will do anything to convince the management to take that title from you, they’ve displayed the faith so far so you’ve got to make sure you keep on convincing them and impressing them, one slip up and who knows…that could be mine.
SAM JOHNSTON
Well…I’ll make sure I do enough to ensure the great El Generico never holds the EBWF World Championship, but don’t worry; I’m here for the long-run and I’ll do anything to convince the hierarchy they made the right decision. But don’t you think it’s funny? I mean one day I’m a normal superstar who people wouldn’t look twice at and think nothing of and the next I’m at the top. It’s surreal, but I love it already, I feel like I was made for this.
RAMI SEBEI
Oh trust me, the day Solomon Crowe and Sami Zayn – Sami Callihan and El Generico step foot inside the ring for that title, you know I’m taking it. And no, I don’t think you were made for this because I wasn’t made for this, CM Punk isn’t made for this, Daniel Bryan isn’t made for this, we have tougher job guys like you and me because we amount to nothing, so it’s our job to get out into that ring and put on spectacles like nobody else can, we earn it all. Anyway, what’s the next step?
SAM JOHNSTON
I guess you’re right…still, this gold isn’t going anywhere, regardless of who the next challenger is. Erm…tomorrow I’m at Warfare for an in-ring segment and nothing else until the next pay-per-view I believe, you?
RAMI SEBEI
Good luck, well tomorrow I’m on the pre-show hyping up your sorry ass as our new champion and then I think I’m in a match with Paul the week after. Anyway, you go and get changed I’ll wait around and we’ll leave when you’re ready, make it quick.
The two friends then hugged once more as Crowe left the locker room with his title as Sami sat down and waited so they could both leave to the next City well in time to rest up and prepare for Monday Night Warfare.

Monday 8th December 2014 – Monday Night Warfare - Thompson-Boling Arena, Knoxville; Tennessee
The EBWF was still rocked by the outcome of the Survivor Series main event where a new World Champion was crowned but the show must go on, and on Monday Night Warfare The Rock would be main eventing with Ted DiBiase. But before the main show could begin, Renee Young was on set ready for the Monday Night Warfare pre-show with all of the fall-out from Survivor Series and the build-up to Monday Night Warfare.
RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Monday Night Warfare pre-show with me Renee Young where in just under thirty minutes Warfare will be coming to you live from the Thompson-Boling Arena here in Knoxville. Joining me tonight on the panel for a short while is none other than Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn! Sami, great to have you back here and we know you and your team lost last night at the Survivor Series pay-per-view and in the main event we saw the man who attacked you in his first appearance in the EBWF, Solomon Crowe; become the World Champion. Your thoughts?
SAMI ZAYN
Well Renee, first off it’s great to be here even though I’m not competing tonight but Survivor Series is now history. We lost, we can’t dwell on that so we dust ourselves off and move on and I know that’s what I intend on doing. As for the main event, I knew a new champion could be crowned and I was prepared for it, I feel for John but that’s how things are now, Crowe is dangerous, he’s someone who will do anything to get what he wants and he showed it, I know him and so do some of the other guys here but right now Renee, Crowe isn’t my priority so I don’t even want to talk about him. My concentration is on the guys who will be keeping an eye on me and my Intercontinental Championship and I know that there are a number of guys at the back who would love to take me back but there’s only one man I want inside that ring right now.
RENEE YOUNG
Well, you do have an announcement for the EBWF fans regarding your next match?
SAMI ZAYN
I do Renee and I can tell you that next week on Monday Night Warfare there will be another champion vs. champion match; Intercontinental Champion vs. Path To Glory Champion, Sami Zayn vs. Justin Gabriel, live next week.
RENEE YOUNG
Well that’s certainly a match to look forward to, two exciting styles inside that ring as two champions clash, and this match means something more to you doesn’t it?
SAMI ZAYN
Every match is important Renee, because you never know what it can lead to but you’re right, this does mean something to me because Justin eliminated me last night. Now, I’m not too bothered about the elimination, it could have been anyone, I could have been Shell Shocked at the wrong time or I could have ate the Bullhammer Elbow at the wrong time, but it was just my luck that I was the victim of a 450 Splash, wrong place at the wrong time and now Justin Gabriel has one over me. Look, I like Justin, he’s a great, fierce competitor and he showed that the first time we face off, he defeated me but I bounced back with a victory of my own, next week it will be the perfect time to end the doubt and prove that I am a better champion than Justin Gabriel, and I am better inside that ring than Justin Gabriel…
Sami Zayn’s stint on the pre-show came to an end, as he stated that he not only wanted, but needed to defeat Justin Gabriel as defeating the Path to Glory champion would be a huge statement in proving he is the better competitor.

Monday 15th December 2014 – Monday Night Warfare – Cajundome – Lafayette; Louisiana
A number of matches had already taken place on Warfare with the number one contenders for numerous championships being decided, the next match would see the number one contender to the Path to Glory Championship, the title held by Justin Gabriel as his match would follow where he would be taking on Sami Zayn. Before the match could begin, the cameras were pointing towards the titan-tron as Sami Zayn was standing backstage, wearing an InZayn t-shirt over his regular black and red wrestling tights with flags scattered on them, his Intercontinental Champion was hanging over his left shoulder as he soaked in the loud ‘Ole’ chants before finally speaking.
SAMI ZAYN
This has been a long time coming, the third time myself and Justin Gabriel stand opposite one another inside the EBWF ring and we’ve both come a long way. The first time we faced off he was the experienced daredevil disposing of the loudmouth newcomer who wanted to make an impact, the second time…that loudmouth newcomer defeated Justin Gabriel and tonight marks the third one on one match, it stands at one a piece and we’ve come a long way because now both men have gold. I thought I was in the driving seat that was until the Survivor Series pay-per-view where I was eliminated by Justin Gabriel. Now, first off I didn’t want to be eliminated by anyone on that opposing team, let alone Justin Gabriel but it’s okay, it’s worked out for the best because it allows the two of us to tear the house down tonight, here in Lafayette.
That prompted a reaction from the loud fans in Lafayette as Zayn smiled before continuing to talk.
SAMI ZAYN
Now I know this definitely won’t be the last time the two of us face off but tonight it will surely put an end to something for a short while at least, because a victory for either us means he is better than the other man, and I’ve worked too damn hard to let someone like Justin Gabriel walk around saying he is better than Sami Zayn because the fact is, he isn’t, and tonight inside that very ring I will show that to every single person who is watching. It’s not just about defeating Justin Gabriel, it’s about making a statement, and I would love nothing more than to pin the Path To Glory champion, pin the man who has the chance to compete for the World Championship, but then again Justin might not even have the opportunity to do that because in a few moments time, four guys will rip each other’s heads off inside that ring to get a shot at Justin and the gold at Christmas Eve Of Destruction, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Tyler Breeze and Wade Barrett. A smorgasbord of superstars who would love nothing more than for Sami Zayn to pin Justin Gabriel and leave him with no momentum whatsoever heading into the title match. I don’t really get any satisfaction in seeing anyone suffer, especially someone who I admit is probably one of the best inside that ring today, but if it means putting myself first then I will do it 365 days a year. I don’t really know what’s going on between yourself and Velvet Sky but the way things are panning out, I think she’ll be the only one out of the two who walks around with the gold, good luck in the ring Justin.
Sami smiled as the camera faded to black, where in moments the number one contender to the Path to Glory Championship would be decided, and Justin Gabriel will know his challenger before heading into a match with the Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn.[/center]
