Hail the Chamber

Post by Cory »

"Go Back to Sleep!"

Randy Orton's music blasted out of the PA System at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The Warfare show was less than an hour from going live, and the crowd was packed into their seats, getting ready to watch a couple dark matches. They were surprised to hear Orton's music play, and they stood up and cheered for the former World Champion. He emerged from behind the curtain, wearing an "Evolution of a Predator" t-shirt and jeans. He had a mic in his hand, and he remained on the stage in front of the curtain, glancing out at the capacity crowd with a confident smirk on his features. He brought the mic to his lips.

Randy Orton: Elimination Chamber? Don't mind if I do.

The crowd cheered the idea of seeing Orton compete in the chamber.

Randy Orton: A little history lesson, if you will. A few years ago, you might remember that I walked into the Elimination Chamber and walked out with the EBWF World Championship. Not only that, but I went on to defend that championship for over nine consecutive months. That's what the Elimination Chamber means to me. Tonight, I get in the ring for the opportunity to step into that chamber, and walk out with the World Championship for a third time.

Randy leaned against the set, casually crossing one leg over the other.

Randy Orton: Chris Sabin, I'm sure you're thinking about all the ways you're going to talk about how I'm not around that often, or that I'm not the hungry wrestler I used to be. I'm sure you'll wrap all that up with a "HAIL SABIN!" and head out here for our match. That's an interesting point. Hey, maybe you're right. Maybe the fact that I am STILL the longest reigning EBWF World Champion of all time, the only back to back two time King of the Ring, and a half of the longest reigning tag team champions of all time, maybe that's all gone to my ahead, and I've gone soft.

Randy shrugged.

Randy Orton: You might be right. But then again, you might be tragically wrong. I'm guessing you're going to find out tonight when the referee calls for the bell. And buddy, it's not going to be pretty.

Randy's music hit again, and he headed back behind the curtain, allowing them to prepare for the first dark match of the night.
