It was Saturday, March 14, and Nora Greenwald, better known to wrestling fans as Molly Holly, was signing autographs at a wrestling convention in San Diego, California. It had been almost five years since Molly had last appeared in a wrestling ring, so her appearances at wrestling conventions were sporadic at best; but if the offer was right and she could fit it into her schedule, Molly tried to appear when and where she could. The truth was, it flattered her that there were fans who still wanted to meet her when it had been ten years since her full-time wrestling career with WWE had ended.
It was just before 3pm and the convention was drawing to a close. Most of the fans who had bought tickets had been and gone, and Molly was expecting the last hour to be quiet. However, she still wanted to make the effort for the fans who did attend, so when a man in his late 20s approached her table, she smiled warmly.
Molly Holly: Hey!
Man: Hey. I'm Kevin.
Molly Holly: Nice to meet you, Kevin.
Molly smiled again, and Kevin smiled back at her.
Kevin: You probably don't remember this, but I've actually met you before.
Molly Holly: Oh?
Kevin: Yeah, it was back in 2001. I was 14 at the time; it was actually the first wrestling show I went to. You were working with The Hurricane at the time, and I met you both after the show. You were both so kind to me and my brother... it really made the night special for us. I've still got the picture actually...
Kevin pulled an envelope out of his jacket pocket, then took a photograph out of the envelope. The photo was of a much younger looking Kevin, his brother, The Hurricane and Mighty Molly. Molly couldn't help but laugh at the photograph of her in her bright pink superhero attire.
Kevin: I was hoping you'd sign it for me.
Molly Holly: Of course! I think you must be the first person in about 12 years who's asked me to sign a picture of me as Mighty Molly - I had so much fun doing that, and Shane was great to work with.
Kevin: Yeah, my brother and I loved the two of you. That's why we were so excited to meet you after the show.
Molly Holly: Thank you, Kevin. That means a lot. I'll sign the picture then we can take a new picture - sort of like a then and now thing. What do you think?
Kevin: Sounds perfect! Thank you so much!
As Molly began signing the picture for Kevin, a light hanging about her fell from the ceiling. Molly reacted quickly, but not quickly enough, and as she tried to move out of the way, the edge of the light fitting caught her on the head. The last thing Molly saw before blacking out was the picture of her as Mighty Molly...

It had been a frustrating few days for Mighty Molly. She had woken up on Saturday to be told she had a concussion - there had been an accident at a wrestling convention, when she had saved a fan named Kevin from a falling light fitting - and when the doctors had asked her who she was, they refused to believe she was wrestling's greatest superhero and forced her to undergo a series of tests! In the end, Mighty Molly had to convince the doctors that she was her alter ego, Nora Greenwald, before they would let her leave the hospital. Upon leaving the hospital, Mighty Molly had caught the first plane to North Carolina. She had an old friend she needed to catch up with.
It was rare that Shane Helms had unexpected visitors to his home in Cameron, so he was surprised when he heard a knock on his door that Tuesday afternoon. Shane was even more surprised when he answered the door and saw Molly Holly on his doorstep, dressed in the Mighty Molly attire she had last worn 12 years ago. He looked at her curiously, not sure if this was some sort of prank.
Shane Helms: Nora... hey. What are you doing here?
Mighty Molly: You don't need to call me Nora! It's always Mighty Molly to you, Shane. Just like you'll always be The Hurricane to me!
Okay, it definitely wasn't a prank. If anything, Molly seemed to have had a mental breakdown.
Shane Helms: Are you okay, Molly?
Mighty Molly: I'm more than okay, Hurricane! I'm better than ever! The doctors said I had a concussion, but it's part of a conspiracy. Someone tried to make me forget who I was... but it didn't work! I need to find out who, in case they come after me again, and I need your help to do it!
Shane Helms: Molly... Nora... I think you need to go back to the doctors. You're not thinking stra-
Molly cut him off, shocked at the words coming out of his mouth.
Mighty Molly: Oh Shane... don't tell me you're part of the conspiracy too! You were the one person I could trust! That's why I came straight to you.
Shane Helms: There's no conspiracy, Nora. I'm retired... I have a daughter. Let me call someone for you, see if I can get some help.
Mighty Molly: Oh golly, Hurricane! It's worse than I thought! You're not part of the conspiracy, they got to you first! Don't worry, I promise I'll do what I can to help you, even if I have to do it alone... I'll save you!
Molly gave Shane a hug then quickly departed. Shane looked around the front of his house, still waiting to find out he'd been Punk'd or something, then went back inside.
A few more days passed, and Mighty Molly had made her first step in uncovering the conspiracy. She had secured a contract with EBWF, which would allow her to infiltrate the company and find out if anyone there was behind the conspiracy. Given that her and Hurricane were best known for their heroics in the wrestling world, the prospect of their enemies being part of the biggest wrestling company in the world seemed feasible. The biggest challenge was figuring out who she could trust. However, before Mighty Molly could even consider that, she had another challenge to encounter. Her first match in EBWF was against the Women's Champion, Sasha Banks. It was a chance for Molly to make a statement - to show her enemies that she would not be defeated. Put simply, it was a match that Molly had to win. As she waited backstage at Warfare, Molly was both excited and nervous to be returning to the ring. "I Need A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler hit, and as Molly made her way through the curtain, she was greeted with cheers from the crowd. Smiling, Molly walked down the ramp and upon entering the ring, she gave the fans in attendance her signature superhero pose. Molly then took a microphone and began to speak.
Mighty Molly: Greetings, EBWF Universe! I'm Mighty Molly, and I'm here to save the EBWF! I have an enemy... someone tried to stop me from being a superhero... but the reason I'm standing in front of all of you tonight is to show that enemy that I will not be defeated! There will be challenges thrown my way, and my promise to you, EBWF Universe, is this - no matter what challenges my enemies place in front of you, I will overcome them all. For that is what a hero must do. And the first obstacle I must overcome is someone so evil, she's proud to call herself a "Mean Girl"... your EBWF Women's Champion, Sasha Banks!
The crowd booed at the mention of Sasha Banks. Molly nodded in approval.
Mighty Molly: That's right, EBWF Universe! Boo her! Boo her and everything she stands for. There is nothing good about being a mean girl, Sasha. And there is nothing good about being a - what is it you call yourself - "head bitch". You're a champion, you're a role model, you should set a better example. You should be ashamed of yourself, Sasha, because you are the worst kind of person... you're a villain.
Molly emphasised the word villain to show her disdain for it.
Mighty Molly: I heard you spreading lies about me, Sasha. Telling people that I deal drugs. How can you say such things, knowing they're untrue? Didn't your mom ever teach you that lying is wrong? You just can't slander people like that, Sasha. You certainly can't slander me like that, because there will be consequences. I promise you of that. When I wear this pink cape, it is a simple of all that is pure and good in this world. I am the hero the EBWF needs, the hero it deserves. And tonight, I will save the EBWF Universe from you, your Mean Girls, and your lies! After I beat you tonight, Sasha, I'll be coming after your title. And it will only be a matter of time before Mighty Molly is the new EBWF Women's Champion!
The crowd cheered at the prospect of Mighty Molly being a champion.
Mighty Molly: I can add prestige to the Women's Title, Sasha. I can restore it to its former glory, and best of all, I can show the EBWF that evil never conquers, because in the end, heroes always prevail! So watch out, Sasha! Because Mighty Molly is coming to get you!
As she said "you", Molly pointed towards the camera, as if pointing directly at Sasha. "I Need A Hero" played again and Molly made her way to the back.
