AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn

Post by Raza »

Friday 20th March 2015 – EBWF House Show – Palatka Armory - Palatka; Florida

WrestleMania was edging closer and the WrestleMania feeling was in the air with not many shows left before the big event. As things stood, Sami Zayn still didn’t have a match or any role to play and his Intercontinental Championship loss to Trent at Fallout couldn’t have come at a worse time. He did however manage to pick up an important victory over Ted DiBiase the last time he was on Warfare and even though he has faced Ted a number of times since joining the EBWF, any victory was better than no victory and defeating a former World Champion again was no small feat. But the test was only going to get bigger for Sami and he needed it, he needed the biggest stars he could get his hands on as WrestleMania edged closer and that’s exactly what the booking team gave him for next week, a main event spot against the World Champion, AJ Styles. Sami Zayn was part of the roster for this week’s house shows but this particular show, Sami wasn’t competing. Instead, he was getting screen time considering how stacked the following episode of Warfare was looking and the lucky fans in attendance weren’t going to argue. As the crowd settled down, the PA system started to blare World’s Apart by CFO$ which prompted the audience to get up on to their feet and dance along to Sami Zayn’s catchy theme song. Eventually Zayn emerged on the smaller stage with a grin on his face before dancing down the short ramp and jumping on to the steel steps as he was introduced to the fans in attendance. He grabbed hold of a microphone and circled the arena for a short while before finally addressing the fans who were growing impatient with all of the waiting.

SAMI ZAYN
I can just sense the excitement, the eagerness to fast forward the next couple of weeks and get to WrestleMania; I share that enthusiasm and even though things aren’t looking great, as a fan I’m also looking forward to seeing some of the guys and girls tear the house down! The last time you saw me was on Monday Night Warfare not long since I lost my Intercontinental Championship and I took on Ted DiBiase, now I know it wasn’t the epic match everyone expected but in the end, I got the job done and I’m right back in the hunt for a WrestleMania spot, just like Ted is. I’m not the kind of guy who would’ve hoped that Ted doesn’t get a match at the event but I do, of course I want a match but he’s a solid competitor and he deserves to be there. But even though I pinned his shoulders to the mat, it looks like it worked out well for the both of us because next week on Monday Night Warfare, the two of us both get a match. He takes on the number one contender to the World Championship, Dolph Ziggler and I get the champ himself in the main event, AJ Styles so it hasn’t worked out too bad. I wouldn’t even rule out the fact that both guys could lose, I guess you’ll all have to tune in to Warfare to see what goes down. Now the reason I’m out hereis not just try to gain the already-impressive viewership for Warfare, but to talk about OUR World Champion…

The fans shared their feelings with Zayn, siding with the relatable Sami Zayn as they booed when hearing AJ Styles’ name or even a slight hint of the World Champion.

SAMI ZAYN
I see that reaction still hasn’t changed, what makes me laugh is that AJ expects us to believe he’s changed, I mean I know I don’t believe anything that comes out of his lying, filthy mouth and judging by the reactions every single week I doubt any of you do too but hey, what can we do, we have to sit down and listen to him talk and talk and talk about how he’s changed and how he’s better and how he’ll do this and that and this and that but quite frankly, it’s all talk. One thing HAS changed since the last time you were around, you’ve got that big gold belt around your waist, and congratulations for that by the way but if we’re being honest, regardless of how great that match was and how great it was to see you all ripping each other’s heads off, it’s easy to take advantage when the rest of the guys have done the hard work, I guarantee you that one on one every single one of those guys would have had your has-been ass on the mat for the three count. The last time I saw you…you were running riot on Warfare, taking over the show, winning matches left, right and centre, doing anything and everything you wanted to make yourself feel wanted, valuable, respected but in reality on planet earth nobody respects you, we respect that belt and what it stands for but nobody has or ever will respect AJ Styles, least of all me.

Fans cheered for Zayn as he didn’t hide his feelings towards AJ Styles as he has never really seen eye to eye with him and he wasn’t going to start now.

SAMI ZAYN
Change…I don’t see any change. I still don’t understand the accent. You don’t look any different, you don’t look healthier or stronger or quicker, you look weaker. You still sound unappreciative, you still sound like you want people to love you, you still seem like the scum of the earth and you still continue to show a lack of respect to those better than you and more deserving. It makes me sick, YOU make me sick. Every damn week you parade around here with the biggest prize literally hanging around your waist yet for some reason there’s no importance when you hold it, it doesn’t matter that you hold such a prestigious championship because you keep blowing that same bubble and talking about women, who you’ve bedded, who you want to bed, who you’ve dated, who you’d like to date, it’s the same damn story and that’s not the champion we need. In fact I urge the girls at the back to keep their locker rooms securely locked with this predator on the loose, from Sasha Banks to Summer Rae to Natalya, this guy will stop at nothing, believe me. I think everyone here saw you’re interview with Jimmy Fallon, if you can call it an interview but I did manage to catch it a couple of days ago and I noticed a couple of things. 1. He and the crowd couldn’t look more disinterested if they tried and 2. You showed the world what you are, an egotistical, unappreciative, sad little man who is riding this final wave and just when things won’t go his way, he’ll pack his bag and head off to Japan again acting as if he’s actually wanted, snap some necks and THEN he’ll come back and proclaim he has changed and this whole useless cycle will start again and I’ll be standing in front of you again and tell you the same thing I told you months and months ago, I’m going to kick AJ Styles’ ass, We need a champion who will make that championship relevant, more important than a long list of females and HOPEFULLY when you lose that championship, you will realise that and realise you should’ve done things differently, but AJ Styles never leans! AJ Styles still thinks is 2005! And the whole world revolves around him and he’s the greatest wrestler around! And he’s the main man in the company! Times have changed, everyone has evolved, everybody has improved, but you…you’ve gone backwards.

Sami smiled at the audience as they cheered for him, laughing at Zayn’s true words before he walked around the ring once more and then leaned on the ropes, getting a little bit more comfortable before talking again.

SAMI ZAYN
I know…I know what he’s probably thinking much like the six fans he has, how can I say that when he’s holding the World Championship? You’re right, I don’t have the right to say all of that but somebody has to speak the truth, it may as well be me this week because I have the feeling somebody else will probably get under his skin far better than I in the next few weeks. The only thing is, you’re a champion who will do nothing. You will talk, and try to fool everyone with your words but it won’t work with me. You’ve ran away before and you’ll run away again and for the good of this business and that World Championship the quicker you pack your bags and disappear, the better. You and I were supposed to dance quite a while back weren’t we? One of my first big matches in the EBWF when I signed, in fact my first ever main event was against AJ Styles, I don’t know if you remember, because I remember very well. I woke up that day, excited, nervous to take on somebody I knew I could defeat, I trained harder than ever, I practiced my intimidating face in the mirror for hours; you know what, let’s just take a look at what happened.

Sami pointed towards the black screen as it looked as if he was waiting for a video to air, the fans continued to wait as well and grew restless, Sami then looked away and back towards the fans.

SAMI ZAYN
There you have it, nothing. Instead AJ Styles walked away, claiming to have been fined or fired or suspended or whatever, nobody even cared, not like he was missed, but I didn’t get my match with AJ Styles. Instead I got Bad News Barrett, and I defeated him but I wasn’t content, it wasn’t enough. Then I realised, why am I chasing a has-been? Why am I chasing somebody who does not matter? So I moved on to bigger and better things and now you’ve come crawling back to square one, a match against Sami Zayn. You ran away before because you know what a loss to someone like Sami Zayn could mean for your so-called illustrious career back at TNA or Japan or wherever else you thought you’ve been the man. Now it’s worse, because now you’re the World Champion, and only weeks before WrestleMania the champion is going to lose to a greasy, ginger kid with a big mouth, what will that do for your chances of retaining your championship? You know WHY he walks away when things don’t go his way? Because he’s a cry baby when the spotlight isn’t on him. To put it into terms even AJ Styles can understand, he is a bitch. He’s the biggest bitch on the roster, OUR World Champion is a bitch and come Monday I’m going to make the World Champion MY bitch, something I should have done a long, long time ago.

The fans erupted into cheers as Sami Zayn was fired up, ready to take on AJ Styles right at that moment if he could, but he calmed himself down and smiled, ready to talk again.

SAMI ZAYN
I hope this time you actually turn up though, let's not use a fine or a suspension as an excuse, that’ll be a good first step into proving to me you’re not just a big mouth. I’ll entertain the fans like I do, I’ll engage in some good ol’ wrestling with you, we’ll have some big spots, some close calls, you’ll cheat a little bit and I’ll fire myself back up, but the reality is that come Monday, I’m going to kick your face, I’m going to kick your ass, and I’m going to pin your shoulders to the mat because there’s no way you’re better than me. You’re somebody who walks around with his head high saying this superstar isn’t worthy of sharing a ring with you, and you’ve defeated him and taught him a lesson, you’re not worthy of sharing a ring with me, World Champion or not.

Sami dropped the microphone and the fans cheered, he was halfway out of the ring before changing his mind, and he stepped back in and picked up the microphone. His music stopped as he tapped the top of the microphone checking if it’s still on, it was and it looked as if he wasn’t done.

SAMI ZAYN
Actually...AJ isn’t the only one who can talk forever, I’m not done. WrestleMania fever is in the air, AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler – World Championship on the line. Now you all know, I’ve been in the ring with Dolph Ziggler before, twice actually. The first time…I made a mistake and he pinned me fair and square, I fought back up that ladder, long and hard but finally I got him back into the ring and I defeated him, retaining my Intercontinental Championship, which I’ve clearly lost since then but that’s not the point. I can safely say, since I’ve signed for this company they were some of the toughest matches I’ve been a part of, now we’re not the best of friends but I know he knows that I have the respect for him and what he’s achieving and I am telling you now AJ, Dolph Ziggler will defeat you at WrestleMania, it’s that simple. There’s no brown-nosing, no getting into any good books, just facts, solid facts which you won’t be able to swallow. The harsh reality is that Dolph Ziggler is better than you, I am better than you, you can’t beat Dolph Ziggler and there’s NO WAY you will beat me at Warfare, I’m planning on stealing that show myself and that includes AJ Styles losing to Sami Zayn!

This time Sami dropped the microphone and his music blasted the PA system and he exited the ring, meeting some of the fans at the front of the barricade and signed a couple of autographs and took some pictures as the ‘Ole!’ chants started to creep in. He walked back up the ramp with his desire to compete at WrestleMania, his desire to steal the show on Warfare but more importantly, defeat AJ Styles after a passionate promo on the World Champion, only time would tell whether Sami would actually be able to pin the World Champion on Monday Night Warfare.

I don't think Sami Zayn is greasy!

This was nice, as always.
