True Champion

Post by Kyle »

OOC: Totally love being sick, it definitely helps writing RPs. Good luck Raza, sorry I couldn't put up a better RP.

Ted DiBiase had sent a clear message to The Rock on Warfare: The Path to Glory Championship was his. Ted had gone back to the safety of his locker room, locking the door so as to not be interrupted by anyone. His back was against the door and he slid down to the ground and clutched at the Path to Glory Championship. It had been so long but at the same time it was as if they had never been separated. He held the championship tightly and caressed it as he muttered.

Ted Jr: It's mine. It's mine. It's mine.

Over and over he repeated those words, almost trying to convince himself that he was really champion. That wasn't the case, as The Rock was still known as the current PTG Champion. Suddenly there was a knock at Ted's door which startled him. He looked through the peephole to find Renee Young standing outside. Ted opened the door a fraction, being paranoid.

Ted Jr: What do you want?!

Ted snapped at the interviewer.

Renee Young: I just want to get a few words from you.

Ted looked around nervously before letting Renee in quickly and slamming the door behind her. The camera man got into position quickly and began recording as Renee started interviewing Ted for an EBWF.net exclusive.

Renee Young: Just moments ago you interfered in the main event which saw The Rock take on Edge and then you knocked out The Rock and stole his Path to Glory Championship.

Ted was smirking through Renee's entire sentence until she mentioned him stealing the championship.

Ted Jr: I didn't steal anything. I took what is rightfully mine. This belongs to me and the only time I will give this up is when I cash it in and become the World Champion.

Ted held the title up so the camera man could zoom in on it. There was still a red streak of blood from where Ted smashed it over The Rock's head.

Ted Jr: That's the closest The Rock will be getting to MY CHAMPIONSHIP. He's not taking this from me. He can use his recycled catch phrases, talk about my candy ass and be a sophomoric loser but that's all for nothing. We'll step in the ring together one day, and I'll prove to everyone what a fraud you are and how you don't deserve to be called a champion.

Renee Young: Do you think The Rock will seek retribution and try to get back his championship?

Ted Jr: He'll try and I'll do exactly what I did just then to him. I'll make him bleed, I'll make him pass out and I'll make sure that he regrets ever being in my way. Now get out of my locker room.

And with that Ted called an end to the interview. Renee and the camera man left the room as Ted held tightly onto the Path to Glory Championship.

Warfare was being broadcast live from Toronto and Ted DiBiase was scheduled to face the impressive Solomon Crowe. Since debuting Crowe had been near unstoppable and quickly established himself as a top tier talent. But Ted had the longevity of being in EBWF. Like Crowe he rose to the top quickly, but when others in the company left he stayed. Ted was standing with Renee Young at the interview set with the Path to Glory Championship hanging across his shoulder.

Renee Young: Welcome everybody to Warfare, with me at this time is Ted DiBiase who-

Ted cut Renee off before she could finish.

Ted Jr: I'd like you to announce me properly. I am the TRUE Path to Glory Champion Ted DiBiase.

Renee looked at Ted and then announced him without any enthusiasm.

Renee Young: With me at this time is the true Path to Glory Champion, Ted DiBiase. You're scheduled to face Solomon Crowe who has spoken his mind recently about you and your path into this business.

Ted Jr: Let me guess, there's another guy that broke his back to get here. You missed birthdays, lost girlfriends and wrestled for $10 just to get into the ring with me. I've heard it all before and I DO NOT CARE. I don't. I was born into wrestling royalty and I have exceeded the generations before me. My father was arguably one of the greatest wrestlers of his era and I've surpassed him. You're not a down on his luck, homeless loser who is being paid $10 a night, though you may look like one. You're being paid handsomely for to be here so don't think we're so different. Money and family got people talking about me, but it was decimating the competition MYSELF that proved that I'm not just talk. I was the best singles and tag wrestler when I arrived here in EBWF and I proved it by holding the World Championship and the Tag Team Championship simultaneously. I proved that I was the greatest Path to Glory Champion holding it for 11 months. I was the greatest champion destroying the record for longest championship reign. Not by a day, but by over 2 months. Stop me when you think I was handed that.

Renee Young: Crowe also mentioned that he's not worried about you, and that you're all talk.

Ted Jr: Am I all talk? Was I all talk when I smashed this championship across The Rock's face? Was I all talk when I knocked him out? Don't be worried, that's fine. Think of me as nothing more than a tune up match for you before the PPV. You're a smart guy Crowe, and even though you say that you're not worried about me you really are. You were right when you said that I've had ups and downs in my career. After every low point there was a roof shattering high. I've had my low and here comes the high. So by all means underestimate me because when I pin you it'll be that much sweeter.

Ted Jr: After Warfare is Death Before Dishonor, where you will be facing The Rock. Are you focused on that more than this match tonight?

Ted Jr: I've got my championship back with me, and I've got the opportunity to defeat the number one contender for the World Championship so I'm focused purely on embarrassing Solomon Crowe. He can be cocky and underestimate me, but when he gets pinned that'll enrage him even more. Then if he wins the World Championship he knows that his reign will come to an end when I beat him again.

Renee Young: Good luck to you tonight.

Ted nodded and left the interview set as Renee hyped the match further. Defeating the number one contender would improve his chances of a World Championship match and give him a psychological edge over Crowe should he win the World Championship at the Pay Per View. But tonight would not be for a title, it would be purely to gain momentum leading into an important match.
