RENEE YOUNG: "Excuse me, ladies? Can I get a word?"
The Mean Girls all turned in unison upon hearing Renee's soft voice. All three glared at Renee like a pack of lions sizing up their prey. Renee appeared frightened by their lack of speech and intense looks of displeasure, but she stood firm until Eva Marie stepped forth and held her hands up to give assurance to Summer and Sasha.
EVA MARIE: I got this, girls.
Summer and Sasha nodded, but also made a point to step into Renee's face one after the other before walking away. Renee even got a face full of Summer's trademark blonde hair when the tallest Mean Girl turned to leave Eva Marie alone with her.
EVA MARIE: You really have some nerve, Renee. Isn't it obvious that you are the last person Summer and Sasha want to talk to? Because it should be. After what happened at King of the Ring, you're lucky I was nice enough to save you from getting your lights knocked out. You can thank me now.
RENEE YOUNG: "Thanks? But King of the Ring is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about. Not only did we see Summer Rae lose out on being Queen, we--"
EVA MARIE: If you know what's good for you, you will never speak of that, ever again. Got it? Unless you want me to lose my religion all up over you.
Although Renee certainly did not take Eva as seriously as Eva intended, the interviewer did take a breath to reset herself. Eva tucked a lock of her red hair behind her ear and backed up from Renee a bit, pleased with the way she checked her.
RENEE YOUNG: "Loud and clear. But, I do want to bring up the other event that transpired at King of the Ring, and that's Emma and Becky Lynch becoming the number one contenders to the Women's Tag Team Championships."
EVA MARIE: Did they? I didn't notice. I must have been distracted by Becky's horrendous dye-job. Which, by the way, is yet another failed attempt made by one of the other Divas to measure up to me. First Alexa Bliss, now Becky Lynch? When are these girls going to understand that there isn't a thing that will ever top all red everything? And...um...who was with her again?
RENEE YOUNG: "Emma."
EVA MARIE: Oh, right. What does it tell you that I couldn't even remember her name?
RENEE YOUNG: "Well, you seem to have a habit of forgetting a lot..."
EVA MARIE: Excuse me?
Eva looked down at Renee sharply. Renee cracked a small smile, but quickly jumped back into professional mode before Eva could go off.
RENEE YOUNG: "Nevermind. I just think it's worth a thought out of you, considering they will be challenging you for the titles on Warfare."
EVA MARIE: Well, in the words of one of my biggest fans, Renee...it doesn't matter what you think. You know why? Because while you spend all your time running around backstage like the failed journalist that you are, I'm the one who's actually out there taking care of business along with my Mean Girls. And we've been taking care of business, Renee, for over an entire year now. Which is what should be bringing you onto your next topic.
RENEE YOUNG: "The hashtag?"
EVA MARIE: Oh my God...are you serious? Are you completely, totally, absolutely, positively serious?! It's more than just a hashtag! What is wrong with you?! Where are the real interviewers around here? You know, the ones who actually have a clue?
SASHA BANKS: Eva!
Sasha's voice was heard calling out to Eva from a distance. Eva turned her head and both she and Renee looked down the hall together. The redhead's expression turned to a smile as she looked back at Renee in a condescending manner.
EVA MARIE: You're lucky.
Eva made sure her hair whacked Renee in the face when she turned in the other direction, much like Summer did earlier. Renee shook her head as Eva walked away, allowing the camera to follow her. It became clear as to why Sasha called for her when Eva came right up to her fellow Mean Girls all over the newest member of the EBWF broadcast team, Corey Graves.
EVA MARIE: Well, hello there...
SUMMER RAE: There you are! Corey here was just asking if he could talk to us about our soon-to-be successful defense against the two...what do we call them again, Sasha?
SASHA BANKS: Midgets. The two midgets!
SUMMER RAE: Right! Against the two psychotic, delusional midgets.
COREY GRAVES: Actually, ladies, I was just on my way to catering...
None of the girls seemed to hear what Corey had said. Eva and Summer were too busy leaning on both of his shoulders and eyeing him up, while Sasha was fixing up her hair (weave) in the reflection of her "BOSS" ring.
EVA MARIE: Oh, Corey...anything for you. I mean, Summer and I haven't been able to take our minds off the match since the very second the midgets were crowned contenders. Staying on top of whatever it takes to defend our babies is so important to us, you know.
COREY GRAVES: I would imagine so. You two have been holding onto those titles tightly since Wrestlemania. And so have you to your Women's title, Sasha.
Sasha looked up briefly to smirk and nod, while Eva and Summer just looked at each other, practically swooning.
SUMMER RAE: He gets us.
EVA MARIE: Why, yes he does. And I'm sure he's on par with what, in addition to the two of us continuing our iconic reign as the Women's Tag Team Champions, is making this week the greatest week in EBWF history. Isn't that right?
COREY GRAVES: It's the one year anniversary of the Mean Girls, isn't it?
EVA MARIE: I just knew you'd know.
COREY GRAVES: I mean, the three of you were a trending topic the other day. It's what you call the meanest year.
SUMMER RAE: The meanest.
Summer looked at Corey as if he were nothing but a piece of meat. Eva wasn't much better, completely acting as if her previous conversation with Renee did not exist at all.
EVA MARIE: And you know we're going to be celebrating the meanest year all week, don't you? Because as we've said, one day just isn't enough. And Warfare is going to be the perfect way to kick things off. We're going to remind everybody, not that they forgot or anything, why the Mean Girls are the most dominating force in the Diva's division...as well as why Emma and Becky Lynch are the biggest jokes in the Diva's division.
COREY GRAVES: I'm sure Emma and Becky would beg to differ on that...
SUMMER RAE: Of course they would, but the real question is when has their opinion ever mattered? And will it?
SASHA BANKS: Nope!
SUMMER RAE: That's right.
EVA MARIE: Corey, I know you're the interviewer and all...and believe me, you're the best interviewer EBWF could ever hope to have...but I have a question for you that your answer will confirm why the Mean Girls are in a whole other league compared to Emma and Becky. Ready?
COREY GRAVES: Shoot.
EVA MARIE: Whose hair is better? Mine and Summer's, or Emma and Becky's?
Corey just looked back and forth to Eva and Summer. The two smirked, taking his lack of an answer and sole stares as an answer enough.
SASHA BANKS: Spoken like a true man. Let's bounce, girls.
The Mean Girls all grinned at Corey and left him by his lonesome. Renee walked up and joined him shortly after they disappeared, patting him on the shoulder in understanding of just how painful that must have been.
