OOC: Good luck Raza- really enjoyed working with you this month.
The Miz and Ted DiBiase had been two men that had been through a lot together. They had been enemies/allies/enemies again/ and now they were allies again. Which would have made a splash, but certainly not a splash to the significance of what took place just one short month ago. It was then, where The Miz and Ted DiBiase joined forces with Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, and Kyle O'Reilly forming a group known as Vertex. Vertex hit the EBWF with a ferocity that had not been seen by many if any groups in the companies history. The most notable target of the group has been the man who earned the right to challenge Miz for the Path To Glory Championship at Summerslam, Solomon Crowe. Crowe had made waves since joining EBWF, and arguably had one of the more successful rookie campaigns in sometime. He, like Miz, was a former World Champion who was looking to get his hands on the gold, by using the belt that is considered by many a springboard to that very title. It is certainly a feud that gained a lot of momentum as the month progressed, with Miz and Vertex taking things to a personal level, involving a girl that Crowe was seemingly involved with. It was clear that Miz had snapped into a mode where he didn't care much about anybody but himself.. but for him that wasn't all that much of a change. He seemed focused on becoming the EBWF Champion regardless of who's life he had to ruin to get there, and now with Vertex by his side, it seemed as though those particular tasks would be much, much easier.
The scene opened up to a polaroid picture of Solomon Crowe and his lady friend that was featured on Warfare in the segment by Vertex. The two were seen in the picture smiling at a restaurant. A hand behind the pictures flipped from that picture to another of the two getting cozy in a booth. These shots were from the same night as were seen on Warfare, as the clothing and the restaurant were identical to the Warfare segment. The hands flipped through a few more shots of the happy couple until the pictures were quickly tossed aside. Now the hands picked up another set of pictures, pictures of The Miz and Vertex humiliating the same girl in the middle of the ring on Warfare. The hands flipped through a few more of the pictures and again tossed them to the side. The camera zoomed out and sitting in a chair behind the desk that was just shown in the shot, was The Miz. He wore a blue quarter zip with a white shirt and blue tie underneath. Behind him stood Ted DiBiase on one side of his chair, Kevin Owens on the other, and Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly directly behind him. All of the members of Vertex were dressed to the nines. The Path To Glory Championship was seen now in the shot to the right of The Miz. The Miz broke the silence.
The Miz: They say a picture is worth one thousand words, but I may have more than that to describe the ones we were just looking at. You see part of what makes me.. well.. me.. is that I take pride.. no more than pride.. I take pleasure in watching other people who aren't me.. suffer. Call me a bully, call me heartless, call me whatever you want to call me.. but it genuinely makes me happy to see other people realize that compared to me they are absolutely nothing. That compared to me they might as well be dried up dog crap on the sidewalk, that they are literally the dirt underneath my feet. That moment doesn't always happen right away, but every now and then there are those special nights, those special moments in time where you take a look at the person who you are about to face, and you know that they know it.. just as well as you do. That moment took place with Solomon Crowe this month whether that freak wants to admit it or not. He may talk about how he feels like he got the best of us this month, but we got to him, in more ways than one. If the pictures you all just saw were exhibit A, allow me to remind you of exhibit B.
The camera zoomed into a shot of a bloody Solomon Crowe after he was the victim of a gang assault by Vertex earlier this month.
Ted DiBiase: That doesn't look like the face of a man who got the better of ANYBODY this month.
The Miz: It sure doesn't. You see Solomon Crowe is no different than any other guy who has stepped in my path over my time in the EBWF. I've beaten every angsty weirdo that has come around. You name them I've beaten them. It seems like I'm just a magnet to this type of opponent. The type of opponent who swore it would get better after High School. The type of opponent that swore that Slipknot was a good band, the type of opponent that despite everything life has told them, feels that some how getting into an EBWF ring was going to change who they are.. and who I am. Who I am.. is the Miz.. I'm a grand slam champion.. I'm the most captivating.. the most must see.. the cream of the crop.. the greatest of the great, the most super of all superstars.. your mother elfin favorite wrestler's mother elfin favorite wrestler.. that's who I am.. but who is Solomon Crowe really? Besides somebody who can't stack up.. besides somebody who despite a little flash in the pan success isn't build to be around for the long term.. besides somebody who is destined to fall short.. both in the ring.. and
The Miz held up another picture of he and the girl kissing on Warfare.
The Miz: And outside of it. Solomon.. as I've told you.. nobody ever said life was meant to be fair. There are definitely haves and have nots in every walk of life.. and the EBWF is no different. Make no mistake about it, The Miz.. The Miz is a have. Won titles.. I have.. slayed chicks.. I have.. played chicks.. I definitely have.. beat you to a bloody pulp.. I have.. held an arena full of jamoaks in the palm of my hand.. I absolutely have. What about you Solomon? You may HAVE won a title or two in this company.. you may HAVE earned a couple victories.. but when it comes to beating someone the likes of me.. you most certainly HAVE NOT.. and you WILL NOT. You see that title?
The Miz pointed to his EBWF PTG Championship. At first the camera didn't move.
Kevin Owens: Zoom in on the belt you putz.
The camera zoomed in on the Path To Glory Championship.
The Miz: That's the Path To Glory Championship. That's the title, that you need to.. well get back on the path to glory.. the path to mattering.. the path to being relevant.. the path to being on top of this business once again. The irony for you Solomon is that you can't get back on this path until you take this title from me.. and following that path is not going to do anything but get you hurt. You have a better chance of getting laid than taking this championship from me, and trust me..that's not happening ANY time soon.. because buddy.. once you go Miz...you... once you go Miz.. you.. shit what's a good rhyme there..
Vertex quickly started consulting.. it was clear they couldn't come up with a rhyme.
The Miz: Ah whatever.. because once you go Miz.. you don't go back to a weird ugly loser like Solomon Crowe..
Ted DiBiase: I like that..
Kyle O Reilly: Really has a nice ring to it.
The Miz: Yeah screw rhyming.. who needs it?
Ted DiBiase: Not us.
The Miz: Exactly.. so what were we just talking about?
Kevin Owens: I think it was how Solomon Crowe isn't going to beat anybody.. except himself for the foreseeable future.
The Miz laughed as did the other members of Vertex.
The Miz: Really well put Kev.
Kevin Owens: I thought so.
Kevin confidently smirked feeling pretty pleased with his word play.
The Miz: What we're saying to you Solomon is that this charade, this facade, that you have been putting on has gone on long enough. It's time for things to go back to the way that they were meant to be, to the way that they've always been. It's time to stop trying to be someone that you're not. Stop trying to win Solomon, because you aren't a winner. Stop trying to make us think that you're tough, because you aren't tough. Stop trying to convince us that you're cold, calculating, and that you don't care about anything or anyone.. because we KNOW that's NOT true either.. stop doing these things.. and START admitting to yourself and to the entire world that you are a loser.. that you're soft.. and that something as slight as me telling you to go eat lunch alone would bring back such horrid flashbacks and de ja vu's that you wouldn't even know what to do.. but don't worry Solomon.. this isn't high school.. I'm not going to literallye put a kick me sign on your back.. I'm just going to kick your ass without any prompt.. I'm not going to literally give you a swirlee. I'm just going to flush your hopes, dreams, and goals down the toilet.. and I'm not going to literally take your lunch money.. but I'm going to.. well actually no.. I might just take your lunch money.. that actually sounds kinda fun.
Finn Balor: I am kind of hungry..
Kevin Owens: Yeah but what could the guy really have like 10 bucks?
Ted DiBiase: We could get Subway..
Kyle O'Reilly: Love subway..
The Miz looked annoyed.
The Miz: Guys..
Ted DiBiase: We could take Solomon's girl to Subway.. we know she's never seen a footlong..
Kevin Owens: Or even a six inch..
The Miz went for annoyed to a quick smirk and smile.
The Miz: Ok that's not bad.. but all jokes aside. This match is the statement that we've been waiting to make. Since Vertex came to be, all people have said was that we were just another group who did nothing but gang attacks. Strength in numbers, and that none of us would have any real success when the numbers were even. To which I say... pfft...
Ted DiBiase: Nice..
The Miz: I just love listening to people spout off at the mouth with nonsense like this. Even Solomon Crowe will undoubtably say this. That's going to be the big defense mechanism, that's gonna be what Crowe says to himself to try and convince himself he belongs in this match. As to which I again say.. pfft..
Kevin Owens: Pfft..
Finn Balor: Pfft..
Kyle O'Reilly: Pfft..
Ted DiBiase: Pfft...
The Miz: Didn't even practice that.. really impressive.. but yeah.. go ahead an try and convince yourself that you belong.. that in a one on one match.. you can compete.. it's cute.. it's kind of endearing. I love guys that win like 3 matches.. and all of a sudden they think their bodies can do things that they just aren't capable of doing. I'm the freaking Miz, Crowe. The FREAKING.. Miz.. On no planet.. especially not EARTH.. are you walking out of Summerslam with anything but two black eyes and a bloody nose.. and I invite you.. I beg you.. to try to make me out to be a liar. You see there are simple rules, guidelines even for this match that I've written out for you.
The Miz grabbed a scroll from the desk that was sitting near the PTG Title. He unrolled it and read it aloud.
The Miz: Number 1: I don't lie. Number 2: I'm telling you flat out that I'm going to destroy you. Number 3: If you don't think I'm going to destroy you.. see numbers 1 and 2. Number 4- Be Jealous. Number 5- I'm Awesome.. Number 6: If you don't think I'm awesome.. see number 1.
Ted DiBiase: Guidelines to live by: I hope Solomon is watching this.. this could be really educational for him.
The Miz: Except we both know he's not.. he's probably alone somewhere in a corner with his knees to his chest rocking back and forth reciting.. the raven by edgar allen poe.. but if he is watching, I'm definitely not going to give him enough credit that he'd be smart enough to listen to these warnings. He's definitely not smart enough to know that what I'm saying to him, is really just me trying to reach out.. and help him. We all know he's too stubborn to say.. hey thanks Miz.. I'm going to listen to you.. not get my hopes up.. and accept my beat down at Summerslam like a man. Instead- he will be defiant.. claim the opposite.. and then disappoint all zero of his fans when he doesn't get the job done.. you know.. same song and dance.
Ted DiBiase: Sad really.
The Miz: He sure is. I mean it sure is.
The Miz smirked as did the rest of Vertex as the scene faded to black.
The scene reopened at a house show in New Jersey the site of EBWF Summerslam. Michael Cole stood in the ring with a microphone which got a negative reaction from the crowd because.. well it was Michael Cole.
Michael Cole: Ladies and Gentlemen may I have your attention please..
Cole smiled a little as he knew that that line had never and would never go over with the fans no matter what state they were in.
Michael Cole: Please welcome my guests at this time.. Vertex.
The crowd erupted with boos as no sooner did "Vertex" leave Michael's lips when "Awake and Alive" instrumental was heard over the loud speaker and Vertex made their way down to the ring. They all wore ring gear and matching black with red lettered Vertex t-shirts (available at EBWFShop.Com) The group made their way down the ramp and into the ring. All 5 men looked extremely confident as Miz had his own mic, he wore the Path To Glory Championship over his right shoulder, and adjusted it so that it rested higher. He held it to his lips and looked at Michael Cole who had a serious, unsure look on his face.
The Miz: Michael Cole.. the legend continues..
Michael Cole: Hey Mi..
The Miz: Shut up..
Michael stopped in his tracks. Some of the crowd laughed and there was a slight pop because they hated Cole.
The Miz: And New Jersey you can shut up too..
The crowd booed. Owens grabbed Miz mic with it still in Miz hand.
Kevin Owens: Are you idiots deaf.. he just told you to shut up..
Louder boo's Miz smirked.
The Miz: Don't worry Kevin.. these people don't understand english.. let's try talking to them in their native tougne. A Duh Duh Buhhhhh Duhhhhhh Diddleyy dumbs duhhhhhhh
Ted DiBiase: Which roughly translates to.. New Jersey.. keep your mouth shut and listen.. because the Pinnacle.. the VERTEX..of this company.. doesn't have a lot of time to waste on you.
The Miz: Wow Ted, I didn't know you spoke New Jersey..
Ted DiBiase: I'm conversational.. I wouldn't say I was fluent..
The Miz nodded impressed.. Michael Cole was getting restless.. the crowd was booing extremely loud at this point.
Michael Cole: Ok guys if we could-
The Miz: Sorry Michael go ahead.
Michael Cole: So Mi.
The Miz: Ahh sorry can't do it.. your voice is too annoying.. it's like nails on a chalk board. So as always we were prepared for this.. because quite simply we're prepared for everything... guys.
As Miz was talking.. Kyle O'Reilly had gone behind Michael Cole and went to all fours. Finn Balor pushed Cole so that he toppled ungracefully to the mat over Kyle O'Reilly. Ted stepped into the spot that Cole occupied.
Ted DiBiase: Wow looks like Cole has literally been dropped from this gig.
The crowd was now booing louder as Vertex was truly getting a kick out of themselves. Cole had rolled out of the ring now and looked painfully embarrassed. He made his way back up the ramp.
Ted DiBiase: I'll just say what he was gonna say. Ladies and gentlemen.. the new and improved Michael Cole..
Ted cleared his throat and put a hand over his forehead, he moved it down across his face to signify that he was now "Michael Cole" and he did his best Michael Cole impression.
Ted DiBiase: Ladies and Gentlemen may I have your attention please. Tonight I get to ask- The Miz- my hero- your hero- our hero- a couple of questions regarding his match this Sunday at Summerslam vs. Solomon Crowe. Miz..
The Miz: Yes Michael..
Ted DiBiase: What are your thoughts on your upcoming match with a former World Champion, Solomon Crowe.
The Miz: Great question Cole, and something about it just seems way less annoying than usual. The answer to this is really simple. I don't care if Solomon Crowe was a former Miss America winner. I know some things in my heart of hearts, and one of them is that I'm destined to be the next EBWF World Heavyweight Champion.. because there's just NO way that the most dominant group in the history of this company should not have the EBWF Champion in their midst. So I'm going to change that.. and the way I'm going to change that is.. when I damn well feel like it.. I'm going to cash this title right here in for a shot at Dolph Ziggler.. John Cena.. Wes Ikeda.. AJ Styles or whatever poor soul holds the title.
Ted DiBiase: But first you have to beat Solomon Crowe.. does this mean you don't see this as a possibility.
The Miz: I don't see that as a possibility, really insightful Cole, it's not possible for Solomon Crowe to beat me.. it's not going to happen.. didn't you just listen to me tell you exactly what was going to happen in the coming months?
Ted DiBiase: Sorry I could barely hear you over the sound of my own nerd-dom.
The Miz: No problem Michael, I'd imagine that happens all the time.
Ted DiBiase: You have no idea...
The rest of Vertex was getting a kick out of this, but the crowd in New Jersey could not stop booing.
The Miz: You're right I DON'T have any idea. I don't have any idea how to be anything other than what I am, and to be perfectly honest.. I never want to know what it's like to be anyone other than me.. because when you're me Michael, when you're The Miz, you don't go through any "I wish I were him" or "I wonder what it's like to be that guy's" because you are already the best person in the entire universe..
Ted DiBiase: You mean in the EBWF..
The Miz: No I mean in the universe Cole.. I'm the best person.. in the universe. I'm jealous of nobody.. and EVERYBODY is jealous of me.. EVERYBODY has experienced the "I wish I were him" and the " I wonder what it's like to be that guy" when it comes to me, but the fact is nobody is ever going to get to walk in these shoes except yours truly. Especially not someone like Solomon Crowe. Solomon Crowe is the classic case of someone who will try and act like he hates me.. when in reality Michael, he just hates that he's NOT me. He hates that he isn't handsome, that he isn't rich, that he isn't talented, or charismatic, or funny, that he doesn't smell good, that he can't read, but most of all that he isn't the EBWF Path To Glory Champion.. and trust me Michael, there is more on that list, that list literally goes on and on.. but instead of just saying that, he will speak out publicly against me.. which is fine. Solomon Crowe is the fat ugly girl who talks about how much she hates the prom, but secretly just wants someone ANYONE to ask her. Solomon Crowe is the slow non athletic reject, who talks trash about athletes and sports, but wants desperately to be a part of the team. The most pathetic of all is that Solomon Crowe THINKS that he is intimidating.. he thinks he's scaring me.. he thinks that by making threats and spinning around like a weirdo in a chair, busting himself open, or whistling my theme music is going to creep me out or make me second guess myself.. news flash you moron.. in case you haven't noticed.. I NEVER EVER.. second guess myself.. and I'm not going to start now.. no matter what you say.. no matter what you do.. you can't shake my confidence. You can't get under my skin.. you can't make me worry.. because you are NOT WORTHY of my WORRY. You aren't worthy to breathe my air, you aren't worthy to be in my ring, and you aren't WORTHY of wearing THIS.
The Miz raised the Path To Glory Championship to the crowd, he was now speaking with great intensity.
The Miz: You aren't even WORTHY of me demolishing you.. but lucky for you I'm going to give you that one anyway.
Ted DiBiase: What a guy you are..selfless.
The Miz smirked, and the crowd continued to boo every sarcastic comment made.
The Miz: Solomon Crowe, you are nothing more than a car passing by in the night, a tumbleweed blowing through a desert, when it comes to this business. Nobody is even going to remember you were here 6 months from now.. but see me.. us.. we aren't going anywhere.. the Path To Glory Championship.. is NOT going anywhere. Vertex.. The Miz.. we are forever.. which is exactly how long you are going to remember what I do to you at Summerslam. You're going to remember that I warned you.. remember that you didn't listen.. remember that you wish you had.. and you will never for as long as you live.. forget that it was YOU.. not me.. that should have been scared.. you NOT ME that should be second guessing themselves.. you NOT ME.. that should be worried.. you may not claim to think much of it now.. but it's a certainty that after Sunday you will NEVER forget my name.. which is The Miz.. and you'll never forget that I am.. nothing short of being..
The Miz said his last word packed with intensity.
The Miz: Awesome..
Ted nodded in Cole fashion. As Miz smirked at his antics. The camera zoomed into Miz who looked directly at it and added without the microphone to his mouth "Hey Crowe.. scared yet?... Boo!" As Vertex patted Miz on The back and "Awake and Alive" hit once again. Vertex made their way out of the ring and back up the ramp as the scene faded to black.
You're NOT worthy..
You're NOT worthy..
