Out of Style (General Roleplay)

Post by Will »

Twitter was not the place to rant when you’re the World Champion of a major promotion. After exchanging words with Kevin Nash over the social media website the entire internet was buzzing. Allen Jones best known to the world as AJ Styles had to learn things the hard way as Stephanie McMahon had given the Phenomenal One an earful because of this and summoned him to a meeting the first chance she got. With the King of the Ring tournament going on Styles was partially used on the past few Monday nights, but he remained on the road doing house shows along with charity events, autograph signings, and media appearances. AJ Styles always had a decent, do as I say, relationship with the Executive Vice President of EBWF Talent Relations and he already knew what was going to come out of this entire meeting. When she broke the silence her demanding demeanor did nothing to disprove his theory.

Stephanie McMahon: “You will not shoot on Kevin Nash.”

Bossy. She said this pretty clearly from the other side of her desk. Her long hair blew some from the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan as moved closer to see if she was heard.

Stephanie McMahon: “Understand?”

Sitting slumped in the chair opposite of hers, AJ Styles had a care free look on his face and her words didn’t seem to have any effect on him.

Stephanie McMahon: “AJ, do you understand me? I can’t have you going out responding to Kevin with a shoot promo of your own. It would cause chaos backstage with the other wrestlers, not to mention the internet dirtseets would have a field day.”

Styles sat up in his seat, adjusting his shirt, yet still not speaking.

Stephanie McMahon: “Are you listening to me?”

He swiftly looked her directly in the eyes and she had her answer.

Allen Jones: “Well, hello Stephanie it’s nice to see you again.”

She shot him a nasty look before replying.

Stephanie McMahon: “Hi.”

Allen Jones: “Now was that so hard? A little common courtesy is always nice. I always told myself I would never have a McMahon bark orders at me.”

Stephanie McMahon: “I’m not barking orde-

She was cut off.

Allen Jones: “AYE AYE CAPTIN!”

He was now standing and saluting her.

Stephanie McMahon: “Stop it.”

Allen Jones: “See what I mean?”

He sat back down and put his hands on her desk.

Allen Jones: “Seriously, what do you want from me? You want me to go out there and smile, high five the fans, do every flip I can, and then be a mute. I don’t get it. Since when have I not been able to say what I want to say? I’m the World Heavyweight Champion. Everyday, every single god damn day, Stephanie, I am here. What more do you want me to do, serve popcorn?”

It was obvious at this time the World Champion was now becoming upset.

Stephanie McMahon: “Listen for a second. You are the EBWF World Champion, what more do you want from us? It’s a simple formula and you basically have the idea, we want to sell you as the face of the company, the top good guy of the EBWF. With CM Punk and Randy Orton as natural tweeners, and John Cena along with Chris Jericho as full blown heels, we need a top superstar like yourself as a face. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you are very immature sometimes. I would like to suggest that you only use Twitter from now on for promotional purposes.”

Allen Jones: “You got to be kidding me.”

Stephanie McMahon: “No, I’m quite serious. I would hate to have your account frozen and then you can’t tweet a thing. It is in the best interest of this company at the moment to uphold your image. With the King of the Ring presenting the next number one contender we have a lot riding on the way things turn out on the road to SummerSlam.”

Allen Jones: “Fine, I’ll keep it clean on twitter. Now, answer something for me, sweetie. Why is Kevin Nash in the EBWF again? Why is he allowed to shoot on me via Facebook, Twitter, and Google+? He shows up at Warfare and takes a shot at me, what this all about?”

Stephanie McMahon: “Well the current idea was to bring him in to keep you preoccupied for the time being on Television. The contract he is signed too is very unique and he is able to do outside projects along with shoot interviews. Like it or not, Kevin Nash does draw, as old as he may be. People just like to see him and I would be a lie if I said people didn’t love to see you. AJ, you have a very huge fanbase and it is growing more and more every day. What so wrong with having a legend in this business like Kevin Nash going up against a legend in the making in you? I want the two of you to work together to make something happen. This has the possibilities of being a big money match up.”

Allen Jones: “I don’t give a damn about the money. You should know that by now. Wrestling is my life. Kevin Nash is one of the first people that come to my mind on the list of guys who don’t give a damn about this industry. What did your dad say; it’s all about the money. You want to give him creative control, fine. He can have all the ammunition he wants; I’ll duck all of his bullets. You want to pay him the big money to make a comeback, fine. I’m going to make sure he earns every last penny of it because I’m going to work his old ass off. I don’t like the guy, everybody knows that. But, I do know that the people have wanted to see this, so in the best interest of this business I would be willing to work with him without kicking his ass backstage or in a dark alley.”

Stephanie McMahon: “That’s all I can ask for. Thank you.”

Looking at her as if he was just saying what she wanted to hear, Styles go up from his seat and headed towards the door without response. He left the room slamming the door behind himself causing Stephanie to jump a bit in shock. Styles wanted to do what was best for his career and he didn’t think Stephanie McMahon gave a damn about it. AJ Styles hated Kevin Nash's guts. They worked together back in WCW and TNA and even after so many years Nash hadn’t changed a bit, still the same manipulative, money hungry, spotlight stealing, bastard he had always been. Kevin Nash might think he is fooling a lot of people with his who modest act, but AJ Styles knows the truth. AJ Styles knows what Kevin Nash is all about.

Days passed and AJ Styles had been confined in his newly purchased house. It was very hot in Atlanta, Georgia, but that wasn’t the reason Styles didn’t want to go anywhere. He was sulking to say the least, if he wasn’t working out constantly; he was killing zombies online with Trent Baretta. Anything he could to keep his mind off working with Kevin Nash. After getting a snack from his refrigerator he took a seat at the kitchen counter. He took out his phone and scrolled through his call log, dialing “Boo”. After a few rings a female picked up the phone with a gentle hello which brought a smile to AJ’s face.

Female’s Voice: “I was just thinking about you. “

Allen Jones: “Good thoughts or naughty thoughts?”

Dating always seemed to get his mind off work and lately AJ Styles hadn’t been too big on the whole relationship ordeal. After failing with both Layla El and Angelina Love, he had just stuck to sleeping with random hot fan girls after a show or whenever he went out on the town. Intimacy always seemed to ruin his relationships, but the girl he on the phone wasn’t one of his usual booty calls.

Female’s Voice: “Don’t be a pig.”

Allen Jones: “What, you don’t like bacon? “

Female’ Voice: “Silly. Everyone loves bacon. “

He knew this girl for a while now, dating back in TNA. She was really cool and they both got along great. She was his boo, but in actuality they were not even first base. AJ Styles was trapped in the friend zone.

Allen Jones: “Soooo, what’s new with you?”

Female’s Voice: “Oh nothing much, just training. I finally broke my losing streak this Monday. Thank god. Now hopefully I can get a push. I wouldn’t mind a chance at the Sky High title.”

Allen Jones: “I saw your match. It was great.”

Female’s Voice: “Whatever, you saw my ass.”

Allen Jones: “Like I said it was great.”

Female’s Voice: “Stop playing, AJ. I want people to take me seriously. Do you know how it feels for people to count you out and underestimate you? No, you’re the World Champion. You don’t worry about anything.”

Allen Jones: “Come on, don’t be like that. I know what you’re going through, trust me. The whole Kevin Nash situation has me feeling low. On one hand he is a legend in the industry and its good for me to work with him, but one the other he’s a crooked politician who is only looking out for himself.”

Female’s Voice: “I saw his shoot. I’ve heard so many stories, but he seems like a pretty good guy. “

Allen Jones: “I bet you said the same thing about Hulk Hogan.”

Female’s Voice: “Oh my god, I can’t believe you. I learned a lot in TNA, thank you very much.”

Allen Jones: “Yeah, you have come a long way. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were able to make a name for yourself in the EBWF.”

Female’s Voice: “What as your girlfriend?”

Allen Jones: “Uh… Well… Maybe?”

Female’s Voice: “Yeah right, you wish.”

Allen Jones: Oh my god, now I can’t believe you.”

The two shared a laugh.

Allen Jones: “Let’s get together sometime soon and catch Game 5 or something. I know you like sports.”

Female's Voice: I have plans for Game 5.

Allen Jones: How about a movie?

Female’s Voice: “Are you seriously asking me out on a date, AJ?”

Allen Jones: “Take it however you want.”

Female’s Voice: “Uh… I can’t date you; I’ve heard too many stories.”

Allen Jones: “Okay then, not a date? Just two coworkers having a good time, catching a movie together, eating their own bucket of popcorn, paying for their own admission ticket. ”

Female’s Voice: “Come again.”

Allen Jones: “Look, I’m not your man. This isn’t a date.”

Her sensual giggle caused Styles to smile pretty hard.

Female’s Voice: “Whatever you say, AJ. This Monday night after the show is cool with me.”

Allen Jones: “Great, it’s a date.”

She continued her giggles.

Female’s Voice: “Oh my god, no it’s not.”

Allen Jones: “Whatever you say, Brooke.”

Brooke Adams: “Yeah, yeah, yeah.”

The busty hooters hottie was one girl AJ was just overly attracted to. He tried not to become to attached.

Allen Jones: “Hey, I have to go; I’ll see you this Monday.”

Brooke Adams: “Call me later?”

Allen Jones: “I will.”

The call ended and Styles let out a sigh. He threw away his trash from his snack and headed up to his room to get some sleep.

The fans were beginning to pile into the Kansas ExpoCenter for Monday night Warfare and backstage AJ Styles prepared to go on camera and speak for a segment that would air later in the show. The lights in his personal locker room were dimmed and a TV was playing clips of the 2012 NBA Finals. Styles sat in a recliner, not paying too much attention to the game while he shines his big gold championship belt. Sitting across the room from him was another champion, Ted DiBiase Jr. who was very much into the ball game. The two former Trilogy members were still cool with one another off camera and hung out very seldom.

Allen Jones: “Which team were you going for?”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Neither. “

Allen Jones: “You sure seem interested in the replay of this massacre.”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Yeah, I had money on Lebron. He came through for me this year. Look, here’s the part.”

The video showed Lebron James highlights and Styles looked unimpressed to say the least.

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Who would be stupid enough to bet against him two times in a row?”

Styles didn’t entertain that question. Betting on OKC Thunder to win the series cost him $1000. Brooke probably bought some shoes or a purse or whatever girls blow money on.

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Anyway, I heard I was working a segment with Nash tonight. He has been talking about the both of us a lot lately, so I guess the marks are demanding to see it.”

Allen Jones: “Kevin Nash can kiss my ass.”

Ted let out a laugh and looked at AJ curious to why.

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “You’re always trashing Nash. Why do you hate him so much?”

Allen Jones: “The guy is a fucking fake.”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Come on, he’s not that bad.”

Allen Jones: “Go to hell, Teddy. Just because your daddy worked with him when you were growing up and he made a special appearance at your sweet sixteen party, doesn’t justify you defending this douchebag. Don’t get me wrong, Kevin Nash the entertainer… is great. Now, Kevin Nash the person… fuck him. “

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Now who’s being a douchebag.”

Allen Jones: “Whatever, I’ll accept that. At least I’m telling the truth and not saying whatever I can to make people like me. Nash is like that guy in high school who is always trying to fit in. He thinks this is 1998 when the Wolfpack was cool. Get real. Coolest Stable of 2012?”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “What is The Trilogy?”

Allen Jones: “Fucking right. We were the highlight of the road to Wrestlemania and this guy has the nerves to talk to us like we’re some fucking amateurs. How long have you been wrestling, Teddy?”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “All my life.”

Allen Jones: “Exactly, so how does it feel for a guy who is nowhere near the caliber of you wrestling abilities, attempt to give you advice on how to better yourself?” We eat, sleep, and live this shit every single day. It’s easy to brag about drawing and getting over when you were a part of the Attitude Era. It’s not as simple as it was then.”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “I’ll say. Politics are even worse than now. Wes Ikeda always has to have a golden boy, ya know?”

Allen Jones: “Wait; was that a shot at me?”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “No, no, no. We both know that’s not you. Try CM Punk.”

Allen Jones: “Yeah, the next King of the Ring. It wouldn’t be so bad having another match with him, this time at SummerSlam. The both of us have grown so much over the past year and I think we could have a really interesting program. I tell you though, I wouldn’t mind working with Trent Baretta. The guy is so creative and the kids fucking love him. Talk about a replacement for John Cena, look no further.”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “You’re talking like you’re not dropping the belt to me this Sunday.”

AJ laughed.

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Maybe you are the golden boy after all…”

Allen Jones: “Chill out. You know anything can happen, but you just have a lot going for yourself right now. Former World Champion, Path to Glory Champion, longest current reigning champion in the company, the whole ‘new’ Trilogy deal with Mark and I don’t know who, not to mention your Twitter feud with Ikeda. I just don’t think you need it right now.”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “I wouldn’t mind another shot at the strap I’ll tell you that, so don’t be upset if I go over.”

Allen Jones: “Dude, they call me the Prince of putting people over.”

Suddenly, a knock was heard on the door. Styles went over to answer it and seemed a bit surprised to see his best friend, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin on the other side. Dressed as if he was had just ben exercising Miz entered the room and gave Ted a nod before sitting down beside him. AJ went back to his seat after closing the door.

Allen Jones: “It’s good to have the band back together.”

Mike Mizanin: “Hey Junior, long time man. How have you been treating my baby?”

Ted let the question sink in before looking over at his championship belt.

Ted DiBiase: “The PTG title?”

Mike Mizanin: “Noooooooooo. The Trilogy.”

All three men shared a laugh in this sense of a reunion.

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Trust me, it’s in good hands. With the things we have planned, I’m going to beat Brian Kendrick for Heel of the Year when the Slammies come around. Mark is a real deal veteran and has been giving me a lot of good advice lately. Hopefully, we can add another veteran to the fray and I’ll get a really good push. “

Mike Mizanin: “A veteran like Kevin Nash?”

AJ was unhinged.

Allen Jones: “Fuck you, Mike!”

Ted DiBiase Jr.: “Oh boy, here we go again.”

Mike Mizanin: “Who pissed in this guy’s cereal?”

Allen Jones: “Kevin FUCKING Nash. The guy is a character. You believe all that who-haw if you want to. That shoot he did was kayfabe as fuck. Anybody that knows Kevin Nash, knows that he is not that damn humble. The guy was putting me and Teddy both over; riding our jockstraps like it would give us all a change of heart. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to give Chris Jericho the pleasure of calling me a hypocrite. Nash even had the nerve to be interviewed by a guy Wes Ikeda absolutely hates. Think that wasn’t intentional? My opinion hasn’t changed of the Viking Prima Donna. He is only here loot this company for whatever he can and complain about things that don’t live up to his image. The motivational speaker gimmick isn’t working. I’m just waiting, fucking waiting, for the moment I can say I told you so.”

Ted Jr stood up from his feet and began towards the door.

Ted DiBiase: “He is going to be ranting on this forever, so I think I’m going to go get ready for the show. Good catching up with you Mike, loser.”

Miz gave him a friendly smirk.

Mike Mizanin: Likewise, Junior.

Allen Jones: Catch you later man.

Ted left the room and Styles had seemingly calmed down a bit.

Mike Mizanin: “I’m surprised you still hang with Ted. You always complained about him being to stiff.”

Allen Jones: “What can I say? He’s grown on me.”

Mike Mizanin: “Cool, as long as he takes good care of my baby, everything straight.”

Allen Jones: “Yeah, you’re the one who decided to get injured.”

He joked about his motive for taking time off.

Mike Mizanin: “Well, they’re paying him pretty good to babysit. I’ll be back soon enough.”

Suddenly an off topic question was blurted out.

Allen Jones: “How’s Layla?”

Miz looked at AJ with a WTF expression.

Mike Mizanin: “Lay is fine for your information.”

Allen Jones: “Dude, I was just asking. Don’t be a dick.”

The two men had already come to terms over the situation and decided not to let any woman come between them.

Mike Mizanin: “Anyway, are you working Warfare tonight?”

Allen Jones: “I don’t know yet. My interview will probably be aired after the show. I’ll just be addressing Nash and my match for Sunday.”

Mike Mizanin: “A defense. Who are you facing?”

Allen Jones: “Teddy.”

Mike Mizanin: “Sounds great. I’m sure Junior won’t pull any punches.”

Allen Jones: “Yeah, it will be great. Ted has become a fierce competitor recently, he went over both Hardy and Orton, so his track record is legit. I wouldn’t expect him to pull a single punch. Teddy might just kick my ass, he’s motivated enough to do it. I may have to drop the belt to him.”

Mike Mizanin: “Not yet. Somebody has to compete with Orton’s reign. At least make me look good. You beat me twice, so you have to beat all comers, unless you face Braden Walker of course.”

Allen Jones: “Braden Walker is deniably gifted. No more Nash jokes go tweet him or something and hype that loser Chris Harris up more than Hanna Montana’s sex tape.”

Mike Mizanin: “Have you seen it?”

Allen Jones: “There is one?”

Mike Mizanin: “The hell if I know.”

They laughed about and mingled for a little while longer before Styles had to part ways with his best friend and wing man. He was ready for his interview and took to the halls to find his favorite official assistant to the Trilogy members, Michael Cole. It didn’t take long; he was at the catering table. Styles literally had to drag him into place for the camera man to film it. Cole had to dust the bread crumbs out of his chin hair before they could go on. After making sure his teeth were clean Cole gave the camera man the signal to begin filming and once the red light appeared on, Cole took charge.

Michael Cole: “Ladies and gentleman of the EBWF Universe, with me at this time is none other than the EBWF World Champion, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles. Earlier tonight on Warfare we seen some remarks made from Kevin Nash about you. This isn’t the first time he has been vocal about you. The only difference was this time he expressed his views to the Path to Glory Champion, Ted DiBiase, who has just been announced as your opponent for this Sunday’s King of the Ring pay per view. Are you concerned in anyway about how things could transpire this Sunday night?”

The Champion was dressed in his ebwfshop.com exclusive T-shirt and jeans with the World title belt draped over his shoulder.

AJ Styles: “Concerned? Listen up Michael Cole, you know just as well as I that there is no way Ted DiBiase could beat me on Earth, Pluto, or Mars at the same damn time. I don’t mind him thinking he can, but they don’t call me the greatest in galaxy for no reason, Cole. Sure, Ted DiBiase is a nice challenge, a tough guy who had to take the ranks as the leader of Trilogy. A group that I single handily dismantled and I guess I have to go ahead and kill it this Sunday. ”

Michael Cole: “What about Kevin Nash?”

AJ Styles: “What about Kevin Nash!”

Styles really disliked any mention of the guy.

Michael Cole: “Well, I’m sure he will be in attendance. How do you think that will play to the challenger’s advantage, along with Bully Ray possibly being at ringside?”

AJ Styles: “I won’t have to worry about Kevin Nash in my match, wanna know why? Because I’m going to go out to the ring as soon as King of the Ring begins and I’m going to call out, Kevin Nash. If he is there then he will know where to find me. Bully Ray just got put to sleep earlier, so if he does get involved in some way shape or form, I’m going to permanently put him to sleep. Ted DiBiase, this Sunday night your path to glory takes you right where you have always wanted to be, at the top. The unfortunate thing for you is that only one of us can be at the top and you’re looking at him. I’m the street sweeping roadblock that is going to knock you right off of that path this Sunday. We may be crowing a new king, but without a shadow of a doubt by the end of the night everyone will know that the EBWF is my castle!”

Michael Cole looked over excited from the promo. Styles was satisfied and walked off the set to conclude the segment. King of the Ring is going to be a phenomenal show. No pun intended.
