There was a growing crowd outside the Joe Louis Arena awaiting the arrival of the EBWF superstars for the Royal Rumble pay per view. Jonathan Coachman was with the group of fans to try and get the first interview with the wrestlers as they arrived. While he was speaking to his cameraman his attention was suddenly drawn to his right as there was a loud cheer from the waiting crowd.
They were cheering as arriving, wheeling her suitcase along in a bright purple tracksuit was one of the newest EBWF Divas Bayley. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail, not yet her usual side ponytail style, but she had the same infectious smile as she does in the ring. The fans were chanting her name and waving. In return Bayley was waving to them. Signing autographs and taking pictures with them.
Jonathan Coachman - BAYLEY! BAYLEY! Can I have a quick word?
Noticing the Coach Bayley gave an even bigger smile. She unzipped her tracksuit top revealing her yellow and purple “I’m A Hugger” t-shirt. She walked over to Jonathan and gave him a hug.
Bayley - Hey Jonathan how are you? It’s so exciting here today isn’t it?
She had genuine excitement in her voice as she spoke. The crowds carried on chanting Bayley’s name as she spoke to Coachman.
Jonathan Coachman - It’s great to have you hear today for the Royal Rumble, your first ever Royal Rumble. How does that feel.
Bayley - Oh Jonathan it’s amazing. I’m not even inside the building and look at this.
She pulled her top sleeve up and showed the camera where the hair on her arm was standing up. Coach carried on speaking to Bayley, struggling to get his voice heard above the cheering fans.
Jonathan Coachman - You’ll be taking part in your first ever Royal Rumble match and a chance to get a shot at the Diva championship at Wrestlemania.
Bayley - It’s an amazing opportunity and you know what every one of those amazing ladies in the locker room wants. It’s not an easy task, but I didn’t join the EBWF for an easy ride. I joined for moments and matches like this.
Jonathan Coachman - Alot of people have been talking about how you always tell us how great all of the other divas are and in some ways your in awe of them and don’t really see yourself as an equal.
Bayley pulled a mocked annoyed look on her face at Coachman for a moment, but she could not keep it up and burst into a laugh.
Bayley - Come on Coach. Don’t take my kindness as weakness. Every single one of those divas has earnt their place in that locker room. And yes there are greats here that I respect, and look up to. But you know what, I earnt my right to be in that divas locker room just as they did. I’ve paid my dues, I’ve put my body on the line to be here right now. I didn’t sacrifice everything to just get to the EBWF. I didn’t dream as a little girl to just be in the EBWF. I didn’t just dream about being in the Royal Rumble. I dreamt about winning it. I dreamt about going all the way to Wrestlemania and winning the Divas championship. So don’t get me wrong all of those other Divas deserve their place, but I’m here to be the very best.
She turned to the crowd and continued to wave to the fans cheering for her.
Jonathan Coachman - So you don’t agree with those saying you’re just too nice to be the Divas champion?
Bayley - Awwww you’re too kind. I am nice. But I’m not too nice to be champion. Nowhere does it say you need to be nasty to be a champion. I know there are some girls here that act like high school bullies. But I’m here for this reason.
With that she pointed to all of the fans cheering behind her. She ran over to them, high fiving several as she ran up and down. Before coming back to carry on her interview with Jonathan.
Bayley - You see that’s what I’m here for. Being that positive role model for all of these little girls and guys out here now. I’ll be starting that positive message tonight by winning the Royal Rumble. I’ll show the world that you don’t need to be mean and backstabbing to get to the top. I’ll prove to everyone that I’m not just here to smile and make up the numbers tonight. Now can I get another hug?
She flashed her infectious smile and gave Jonathan Coachman a hug before entering the Joe Louis arena to prepare for the upcoming Royal Rumble.
