Kicking Back

The Miz had got back on track with a big win over a very familiar foe in AJ Styles. The victory set him up with quite literally a "golden" opportunity as at Aftermath he'd have a chance to regain the EBWF Path To Glory Championship- which would once again catapult him into the EBWF World Title picture. This is something that without question would be on his mind, he seemingly has obsessed over that title since he lost it to Chris Jericho- and even looked as though he made go on a losing skid. The victory over Styles helped him gain some of his footing and momentum that he had seemingly lost, back. It was a very important victory not just for his standing in the company but also his confid.. well no his confidence has been pretty much fine the entire time! His opponent this weekend would be a man that in many people's eyes could be the future of this very company. PJ Black, a man who was once known as Justin Gabriel has made a transformation unlike any other. With the new name, and attitude has come success as he has run rough shot through the EBWF roster en route to capturing PTG Gold. However, The Miz was no slouch and had been to the top of the mountain a couple of times already- so one would have to assume that the PTG Champion, Black, would be taking the challenge, anything but lightly. This would not be the first battle between these two men, as they have tangled countless times back in PJ's "Justin Gabriel" days. There was certainly no love lost between these guys- which meant that Aftermath would be sure to entertain!

The scene opened up in Sunny Los Angeles, California at the house of The Miz. The man who would challenge PJ Black for the EBWF Path To Glory Championship, Sunday at Aftermath. We went immediately into the back yard where sitting on a lawn chair was The Miz. He donned a pair of sun glasses gray with black trim board shorts and a black muscle shirt. On his feet were black nike flip flops. The sound of a sliding door was heard and the camera panned to pick up Alex Riley coming out of Miz' house wearing yellow board shorts and a white muscle shirt. Like Miz he donned a pair of stylish sun glasses as well. In each hand, Riley held a tropical looking alcoholic concoction. He walked over to where The Miz was sitting and handed him one of the drinks. Miz nodded his head- took a sip- and went back to basking in the rays. Riley sat down on a lawn chair right beside Miz. Miz broke the silence.

The Miz: This is the life- it doesn't suck being The Miz, Alex. It doesn't suck at all. Two weeks ago I lost to Carlito, people were already ready to wave good bye to me, they thought I was about to slide off the face of the earth when it came to this business.. but just like always.. people were wrong. They were wrong, just like they've been wrong pretty much their whole lives. They were wrong on too many of the answers on the tests they took in school.. wrong about who they chose to marry, wrong about not wearing a condom so that they conceive more idiot losers like them, but more so than that they are ALWAYS wrong when it comes to their preconceived notions about what's going to come of or what's going to happen with The Miz. No matter how many times I clearly tell them- that if you think my success is over- just wait a minute- because some of of my caliber, someone of my standard- does not stay down for long- and if anyone needs proof of that- look no further than last week on Warfare. For the seemingly 900th time- I defeated AJ Styles, he'll probably complain that the sun was in his eyes- or that he tripped over a bump in the ring or he might just pull a Jamie Foxx and blame it on the alcohol, but whoever he blames it on.. the facts are the facts.. I won.. he lost.. again.. and here I am RIGHT back into the mix for the EBWF World Title.. and to get one step closer I have the daunting task of facing PJ Black.

Alex Riley shook his head.

Alex Riley: Who's PJ Black?

The Miz: Let's not Al ok? We both know who PJ Black is- we know who he used to be- we know he does flips in the ring. We know he still sounds like an uneducated 4th grader doing his first oral presentation in front of the class when he talks..

Alex smirked.

Alex Riley: HA! Oral!

The Miz looked at Alex and you could almost see him thinking "I need new friends" through his sunglasses.

The Miz: The fact of the matter is- that whole schtick is what's expected of us- that's what people think we're gonna do. They think we're gonna act like we don't know who PJ Black actually is- who he was- what he can do- and what he's all about- just to downplay his chance to defeat me at Aftermath. I don't need to downplay that Alex you know why?

Alex Riley: No, why Miz?

The Miz: Because the chances of that happening literally couldn't be any lower. PJ- Justin- Flippy mc Flipperson- I know that you think you're pretty hot stuff right now. I know that you're going grace the EBWF universe this week with your presence and have the camera crew follow you around to 20 different locations- where at each one you'll literally say the same vanilla Ice Cream cardboard cut out version of wrestling promo's 101. You'll tell me how you're gonna kick my ass- and how I'm too cocky for my own good- and how you're the future of the EBWF- and just when you think things couldn't get any more boring- you'll tell us again how you haven't cashed in your PTG Championship because you were waiting for the right time for you to become the EBWF Champion. That's definitely what's going to happen.. and here's what will happen during and after you talk this week. During- I will nod off and fall asleep- and dream about you looking for charisma and not finding any- then I will wake up- that dream will have become a reality.. because everytime I see you on my TV- that's basically what I'm looking at. When I wake up though PJ.. Justin.. Flippy.. I will let you in on a little secret. In fact it's a big secret. It's a Velvet Sky Rack sized secret.

Alex Riley: Speaking of Oral.

The Miz: Chill Al.. drink..

Alex Riley: You got it.

Riley took a big sip of his tropical drink.

The Miz: That secret is that you might have wasted your only opportunity to cash that PTG Title in when you chose not to- and when I say you might have.. I mean you did. Because at Aftermath you are going to have to wave goodbye to that very title like fans wave goodbye to EBWF Programming as they are changing the channel overtime you put a microphone to your lips. Seriously more people would want to watch A-Ri here back on TV as my full time manager than to watch PJ Black do just about anything that isn't his in ring acrobatics.

Alex Riley: Is that an invitation to be your full time manager Miz?

The Miz paused for a beat.

The Miz: No Alex.. no it isn't. Just be happy I've been hanging out with you lately. I know it's been tough for you to squeeze me in.. in between your doing absolutely nothing every day.

Alex smiled.

Alex Riley: Hey it's easier to not have to push anything around that way.

The Miz smirked.

The Miz: Fair point.

The Miz took a sip of his drink.

The Miz: You might even change the game this week- and comment on the fact that I'm kicking back here with Alex- enjoying the sun- and relaxing. You might..

The Miz gasped.

The Miz: Imply that maybe I'm not taking this match serious.. that maybe.. just maybe.. I'm looking past you. If it walks like a chicken.. clucks like a chicken.. and tastes like a chicken.. it just might be a chicken.

Alex Riley: What?

The Miz: I just mean if it seems like I'm not taking PJ Black serious.. if it seems like I'm looking past him.. it's because I'm not and I freaking am. The only thing I'm more sure about then the fact that it DOES NOT MATTER what this guy calls himself- he will still be one of the most blah human beings to ever sign a contract in this company- is that at Aftermath when he get into the ring, the Miz will not LOSE to one of the most blah human beings to ever sign a contract in this company. Nobody wants to see PJ Black as the EBWF Champion, nobody wants to see him period. Now I mentioned the fact that in the ring- he is a BIT more exciting. He can twist, he can turn, he can jump, he can do somersaults, cartwheels, shit we should just give this guy some pom poms and a cheerleading skirt for god sakes.

Alex Riley: Ew..

The Miz: Good point- actually we'll skip that and give the uniform to Velvet instead.

Alex Riley: Much better.

Alex and Miz both sipped their drinks seemingly picturing that wonderful visual.

The Miz: What was I talking about?

Alex Riley: Velvet Sky as a cheerleader.

The Miz: No before that..

Alex looked confused.

Alex Riley: PJ Black as a cheerleader?

The Miz: Right- he is a cheerleader- but I agree- we definitely shouldn't have him wear the uniform.. but a cheerleader is exactly what PJ Black is about to become. He is athletic, he can do jumping jacks- and tumbles- with the best of them.. but when it comes time for the real athletes- when it comes time for the people that the fans pay to see- he will be exactly where he belongs.. on the sideline. PJ, criticize me all you want for not taking you seriously. Criticize me all you want for taking you lightly, and already planning my victory party for when I win the PTG Title on Sunday.. speaking of which did you send the e-vites.

Alex Riley: I did.

The Miz: To everyone on the list?

Alex Riley: Yeah and a couple of other people.

The Miz: What other people?

On cue Michael Cole came running through the Miz' yard. He had his shirt that Miz had gave him way back it read "your favorite announcer's favorite announcer" he tripped on a lawn gnome which really dampened his enthusiasm, at least momentarily. The Miz shook his head.

The Miz: Oh you have got to be freaking kidding me...

Alex Riley: Awesome right?

The Miz: FREAKING awesome! Who doesn't love Michael Cole!?

Alex Riley: I know right!?

Michael Cole had dusted himself off and walked over to the guys.

The Miz: Cole what's up!

Michael Cole: Well actual...

The Miz: Yeah I don't care...OH MAN I love it.. never gets old.

Michael Cole was undeterred.

Michael Cole: So Miz- I got your E-Vite from A Ri- I'm so in for your party after you win the PTG Title. I actually just heard you talking before it felt like you were in the middle of saying something- did you.. did you want to finish what you were saying.

The Miz smiled.

The Miz: Michael- I know I give you a hard time.. but you really are good at what you do..

Michael Cole: Really Miz?

The Miz: NO.. not really!? Oh man! Seriously- I should do this every single time I'm in front of the camera.. it's literally so fun everytime.

Michael Cole: For me too!

The Miz looked a bit confused, he looked at Riley who shrugged. It was clear both of these guys were just happy to be on camera.

The Miz: As you astutely pointed out though Cole, I was making the point that PJ Black will criticize me for kicking back, and for planning out my victory party.. that you will only be attending if you make your dip again.

Michael Cole: No problem Miz- I love making dips!

The Miz: Makes sense.. so PJ Black will talk trash about my work ethic- which is what exciting people do- they talk about things like work ethic and dedication. "I train 24 hours a day 7 days a week. That's why I can do parkour and why I'm also too tired to come up with anything interesting to say." Yeah I'm kicked back this week PJ- and the reason is because I'm facing you. I'm content.. I'm comfortable.. and the reason I'm content- is not just because in 48 hours I will be chowing down on some tostitos with Michael Cole's famous dip.. but's because I'm me and you're friggin you. I'm comfortable because I know that order is about to be restored to the god damn universe when I once again become the EBWF Path To Glory Championship. I'm content because I know once I dismantle you and expose you for the talentless snooze fest that you are- I will once again cash in the EBWF Path To Glory Championship- and become the EBWF Champion for a third time. There's no magic to being talented PJ- there's no secret to being entertaining- you just either are or you aren't. For you.. you aren't.. for me I roll out of bed and my morning chubby and beer farts are more interesting than anything you've done in your personal or professional career. So don't expect me to help you add any highlights to the quite possibly the most pathetic resume on earth. You aren't going to get to tell the people down at the trampoline place or laser tag arena what a great win you just got over The Miz- because A.) that would imply you have anybody who would talk to you.. even trampoline places and laser tag joints have people too cool to want to have a conversation with you.. and B.) That you could or would ever get a win over me. Since you never seem to care- despite the fact that I've beaten you soundly over the years.. oh wait.. no I haven't... this is the first time we've faced each other...

The Miz winked into the camera.

The Miz: Either way though- let me remind you of why the hell you should care who you are about to face. My name- PJ- is The Miz- it hasn't changed. I'm the freaking standard around here.. I've done everything there is to do around here. beaten everyone that there is to beat. Held every title that there is to hold.. and yes slept with every chick that there is to sleep with.

Michael Cole: Even Velvet!?

The Miz: A gentlemen never kisses and tells.

The Miz nodded with a shit eating grin on his face.

The Miz: I'm the guy who people like you look at and you hate on me- but only because you actually want to be me. When the dust settles at Aftermath, you're really REALLY going to want to be me.. because I will holding the title that you probably spoon with when Velvet is out talking to people who can hold a conversation.. You hating on me is a laugh riot.. a joke.. PJ- just to elaborate.. a joke is something that funny people tell. A joke is something that someone might use to get people to not instantly be searching for a way out of any conversation with them.. and a joke is actually exactly what you see when you look into a mirror. You've always been a joke- how you even get to work here doesn't make sense to me.. I mean you hating on me... really? I'm the King of this god damn place- I'm a bigger star than you can ever dream of being. I'm who your girlfriend thinks about when you ask her if it's OK if you slip little PJ out through the holes of your footie pajamas. I'm what a real man looks like PJ- I'm everything you're not- and everything you're too stupid to realize you should aspire to be. While you thumb through the thesaurus looking for ways to repeat yourself with different verbiage.. you should be looking instead for a god damn clue. You should be looking for a strategy.. a plan.. to not get painfully embarrassed at Aftermath. Unfortunately though- as someone you once knew once said- I'm afraid I've got some bad news. There's nobody- not Velvet Sky.. not anybody from the Corre who you knew in your past life.. not even friggin Vince Lombardi- who would be able to help you formulate a plan to win this Sunday Night. This Sunday Night the PTG Title comes back to the greatest of the great- the cream of the crop- the best of the best- your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler- The Miz.. and I'm sure you'll have a lot to say about it.. but don't worry when it's not interesting.. nobody listens when you talk- and the only reason anybody even acknowledges your existence is that belt that's on your shoulder right now. So the real AFTERMATH of our match this Sunday is going to be what anybody with two brain cells to rub together has been waiting for.. and that is the END of Flippy McFlipperson.. at the hands of The NEXT EBWF Champion.. yours truly...

BECAUSE I'M THE MIZ... AND I'MMMMMMMMMMMM AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Alex Riley raised his glass as Miz was delivering his tag line. The scene faded to black.
