Experience it, learn from it, improve upon it

OOC - Ok so went for something a bit different again! I hope everyone enjoys reading it! Good luck to everyone this week as well.
----------------
As Bayley burst through the curtain into the back those there loudly applauded following her victory against Summer Rae. Bayley just shrugged and let out an embarrassed chuckle. As she walked the first person she came across was Kevin Owens and she beamed a huge smile at him. He raised his eyebrows at her.

Kevin Owens - Hey kiddo, you done really well out there. Best match you’ve had here I reckon.

Bayley smiled even more and threw her arms around him gave him a big squeeze. They had travelled together ever since they had joined EBWF and he was one of the people whose opinions she always valued.

Bayley - Awwww you’re too kind, you better post that on Twitter later.

Kevin jokingly pushed her away and furrowed his brow.

Kevin Owens - Are you kidding me? I’m the biggest asshole in the EBWF kayfabe or not! I’m not ruining that reputation just for you!

He jokingly got her in a headlock for a moment before letting her go, as she stumbled away he he yanked her side pony tail causing her to shout in mock pain.

Kevin Owens - Oooooh yeah that weirdo British agent of yours was looking for you. Well I say looking for you, he seemed quite keen on meeting Alexa Bliss actually.

Bayley - Haha, that doesn’t surprise me!

Owens walked off towards a camera as he was clearly being called over for an interview, he called over his shoulder as walked away.

Kevin Owens - You done seriously well tonight, we better start getting bigger rental cars, we’re going to need some space for your crown Queen Bayley.

Bayley - Ah get out of here!

Owens laughed and done a mock bow as he walked away and Bayley’s agent Jay turned the corner and shouted out loudly to her.

Jay - PAMMY BABY! Fantastic match out there tonight.

The crew filming an interview with Kevin Owens shot him an annoyed looked. He pulled a mocked look of surprise which made Bayley burst out laughing.

Jay - You were tre. Men. Dous, as always! I’m only here for a fleeting visit. Well until I accidently manage to bump into Alexa!

Bayley - Yeah I heard you had been stalking her again.

Jay - Hay. I prefer the term obsessively watching from afar!

Bayley - Whatever it takes to make you feel better about yourself!

Jay - Cheeky chops! Well other than trying to ignite my love life and tell you what an amazing star you are I’ve actually got other news.

Bayley cocked her head to one side.

Bayley - Go on.

Jay - Well bust out those shoulder pads and power suit, because I’ve got you a gig doing a talk at an motivating and empowering females conference in Tampa before Warefare! Great huh!?

Bayle - WHAT?!

Her face was a mixture of surprise and horror.

Jay - You’ll be great Pammy baby! All you’ve got to do is you know go out there and win them over with your charm!

Bayley - But…. I don’t know what…… How many will be….

She could barely sutter the questions out before Jay’s interest was clearly taken by something over the other side of the hall.

Jay - Bloody hell it’s Alexa. Look Pammy baby I’m glad you’re as excited as me about this. I’ll get all the details sent over later…… Oh Alexa, ALEXA, ALEXA BABY…..

Jay was virtually running away from Bayley as fast as he could to get to Alexa.

"At this time we would like to welcome to the stage EBWF superstar Bayley."

The conference room of ladies burst into applause and backstage Bayley took a deep breathe. She really had no clue what she was doing! With her hair down she was in a grey trouser suit. It was so much more conservative than she usual wore, but seemed appropriate. She put on her best smile and stepped out in front of the 150 women present, who continued to applaud as she stood there. Without knowing what to do with herself she waved randomly to people, as it seemed like something to do to alleviate some of her self consciousness.

Bayley - Wow, that was an incredible welcome! My name is Pamela, but I think most people from know me by the name Bayley. Or that one with the side ponytail who hugs people a lot!

The small ripple of laughter made her feel a little more at ease.

Bayley - Honestly I had no real clue what to say here today, which doesn’t really bode well with me trying to empower fellow women. But I’m told I’m here as I excel within a male dominated industry. Which is a pretty big compliment, and not something I’d ever really thought about before! So I tried googling a load of stuff, but realised I didn’t really want to stand here and just tell you to reach for the stars and other stuff like that, so just wanted to stick with talking about what motivates me, and well I hope some of you enjoy it.

She done a small shrug of the shoulders as all the eyes in the room were fixed on her.

Bayley - So for me the one thing that motivates me every day is learning. I was lucky as a kid I had the most supportive Mom in the world. She always sat me down and would tell me the same thing “the day you stop learning is the day you stop living.” And most of the time I didn’t have a clue what she was talking about really, or I was just glad she wasn’t telling me off. But as I’ve got older it’s made more and more sense to me. Experience it. Learn from it. Improve upon it. It’s what I apply to every situation in my life, both professionally and my day to day life. So whether that’s making breakfast or wrestling in a main event match, it still applies. It’s all about making sure you understand everything you do has a purpose and you should always be striving to be the best you that you can possibly be.

Bayley paused for a moment and took a sip of the water in front of her as she could feel her mouth drying up.

Bayley - I’ve always known since I was little that I wanted to be a wrestler and worked my butt off to get where I am today. I can give you the same cliche stories that every wrestler does about driving halfway across the country to wrestle one match and slept in my car. Or about how I’d spend every last dime I had on a new pair of hot pants to wrestle in and not knowing how I was going to afford to eat that week. Now I’m not saying that whatever you want to do in life can be achieved by sleeping in your car and buying hot pants.

Everyone in the room once again started laughing, and immediately put Bayley at ease further.

Bayley - But the reason I done those things was I knew they were experiences I could learn from and push on from further. At the time being stuck in the car trying to sleep having driven 450 miles to wrestle a 4 minute match didn’t seem worth it. But I wouldn’t change that for anything in the world now, as it has allowed me to become the best person I can be.

At the back of the room someone shouted “That’s easy to say when you work in a business that just decides who wins!” Taken back, Bayley paused for a moment. Biting the inside of her mouth like she always did when she was nervous. Is it real or fake was the most taboo subject in wrestling.

Bayley - Well yes and no I guess. There is of course an element of knowing what’s going to happen in the ring when we go out there. But what people don’t see is how much we get judged behind the scenes. If you’re slacking off and not doing your job at 100% then you’ll be the one losing matches. But also if you’re the one working hard and pushing that bit more than everyone else then you’re the one who wins matches. So if I’m losing a match then I just experience it, learn from it then improve upon it. I’m not sure how many of you follow EBWF.

Bayley was taken back by the number of those nodding their heads.

Bayley - Wow, seems like we’ve got A LOT of wrestling fans in here today! Well most people think the whole super happy hugging Bayley character is a bit hokey and cheesy. But that’s really how I am. I believe life is about taking what is given to you and making the best of it. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you oranges then make orangeade. If life gives you potatoes then make potato-ade! I’m not sure that’s even a thing, but you get my point.

Once again the crowd was laughing along with Bayley.

Bayley - My point is, to me part of my motivation in life comes from being as positive as you can be with each situation you are thrown in. Take the Queen of the ring tournament at the moment I’m in. Winning that is my goal right now. It’s part of my life goal to make sure I’m not just remembered as a great wrestler, but the greatest of all time. To achieve that I’ve got to keep working hard and doing as much as I can to prove to everyone that I deserve that honor. I’ve got a match with Tess Brookemacher coming up and I know for a fact she’ll be thinking the exact same. She wants to go as far in the Queen of the ring as she can. But all the time we’ve got that same motivation there that if we take our foot off the gas at all then there are dozens of other females in the EBWF who’d happily take our place. And even more girls out there sleeping in their cars and spending a fortune on hot pants who’d be even happier to take our place. Now will I win Queen of the ring? I don’t know. But what I do know is for me it’s another experience to learn from. So if I don’t win it then I’ll look at what I can do in the future to improve. Or best case scenario I do win it then it’s just one more step I can take to becoming known as the best there ever was. No matter what happens I’ll just keep experiencing, learning and improving every day and that’s how I stay motivated. Thank you.

Bayley took a step to the side of the podium she was stood behind and made a small bow to the crowd as they applauded her. She then scurried off stage as quickly as possible.
