The scene opens in a gym; two rookie wrestlers are seen having a match in a ring. You can tell they’re still in training as their trainer is at ringside shouting instructions at them. They look very generic, and their movements are still very sluggish. Over the ring, there was a banner hung from the ceiling, which read “Black & Brave Wrestling Academy.” The camera zoomed in to the ring, as one of the wrestlers, wearing a singlet, was in the ring on all fours. The second wrestler, wearing tights, charged towards the first wrestler, but was suddenly pushed back.
Seth: WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! What the hell are you doing?
Seth shoved the rookie wrestler into the corner, and helped his opponent up, signalling him to get out of the ring. For someone who was considered a smaller wrestler, he didn’t look the part of one. He towered over the rookie wrestler, wearing only black and red shorts. He was visibly angry as his veins were very hard to miss popping out in his neck.
Tights Rookie: I was going to curb stomp…
Seth: On your first day?! Are you out of your damn mind? Not only are you trying to do a dangerous move, but you’re trying to do MY dangerous move?!
Tights Rookie: I’m sorry…
Seth: Sorry?! This move, if done wrong, can give a guy a concussion or worse! I have perfected my craft for years, for over a decade, and you think you can waltz in here and do what I’ve worked my ass off for? Hit the showers, you’re done for the day!
As the rookie wrestler, he had no right to do those types of moves, and he knew it. Maybe he wanted to impress Seth so badly that he forgot the difference between them. Perhaps that is why, now, walking away, he’s noticeably taller than Seth. The respect he had for Seth seemed to be so much that he shrunk when Seth yelled at him. He does have all the reasons in the world to respect Seth, after all, Seth is the Head Trainer at the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy. As Seth walked further away from the ring, he was stopped abruptly by Renee Young.
Renee: Seth, if I may interrupt for a while here, that was a pretty intense confrontation…
Seth: Yeah, it was, I mean, can you believe this guy, trying to Curb Stomp someone, when everybody here knows that I’m the only one who can Curb Stomp people.
Renee: Actually, Seth, one of the EBWF Divas, Zahra Schreiber…
Seth: Listen, I know what you’re going to say. You’re going to say she uses the Curb Stomp, and you’re right but you’re wrong.
Renee looked confused at Seth.
Seth: You see, she does a curb stomp… I do THE Curb Stomp, the only real Curb Stomp. By the way, where do you think she stole the move from? Yours truly.
Renee: Alright, earlier on EBWF.net, a vignette was played, presumably the work of Matt Sydal, what are your thoughts on it?
Seth: Wait... that thing was serious? That was him? A mate of mine, Nick, sent it to me, and I just started laughing my ass off, I thought it was a parody, or a joke!
Seth’s nasal, laugh with a pinch of evilness was heard throughout the gym, until it slowly turned into a serious look from Seth.
Seth: Oh wait, it was a joke, and a parody. You know why? Because Matt Sydal is a parody of good wrestling, just like most people in that locker room. I didn’t come to EBWF to make friends or entertain people. I came to EBWF to fix it, and prove wrestling isn’t dead, it lives in me, and me alone. So… I guess I was right in laughing at Sydal thinking we’re equals.
Renee: Actually, in the video, Matt Sydal draws a lot of parallels between you, saying you both felt the stigma of being undersized…
Seth: UNDERSIZED? Look at me, Renee? How can I be undersized if I am larger than life itself? He says he feels the stigma, but here’s the reality. The reality is that while I am the best wrestler anyone has ever seen, he’s just a guy who can run and do flips and stuff. His talent is throwing his body around and hoping it lands on someone.
Renee: The video package also referred to the match as the Phoenix Splash Vs Shooting Sydal Press, saying this match resembles a ninja battle, what are your thoughts?
Seth: You know, Renee… I’ve been thinking about it, and I realized something. Sydal has nothing on me. Hell, like half of the EBWF roster, he doesn’t even belong in the same ring as me. You saw those two rookies earlier, they were having a match, and it was probably the worst looking match I have ever seen. But… It was still better than anything Matt Sydal has ever done or will ever accomplish in his pathetic career. I will make my debut on Warfare, and I will fix EBWF. My mission is clear, to remind EBWF what real wrestling is, by having them see the embodiment of it, and I’m not going to stop until the world turns upside down.
Having said all he had to say, Seth walked towards the locker room to finish the interview and his training for the day. He seemed more determined than ever, and ready to go to war. Monday, his war would begin.
