The camera catches Brookside and Corbin mid conversation. They are sat in the dressing room and both are wearing casual street clothes.
Brookside: Baron, talk to me. I know you prefer to let your actions speak for you but use your words for once. Are you any more focused after the loss?
Baron: Robbie! In the last month I have grown as a person and as a competitor. I have eaten a few losses and I don't like it one bit. EBWF fans, you've no doubt heard both me and Robbie Brookside talk recently on the topic of focus. Lack of focus may have been my downfall in the last few weeks so I'm told. I've never really taken this wrestling career thing seriously, it's been a way of me to inflict damage and make a paycheck at the same time but I am starting to see things in a new light. My alleged lack of focus has caused me to fall at the final hurdle twice now, the first round King of the Ring loss was one thing but to come out on the losers end of number one contenders matches leave a much more bitter taste. Worse still, I have fallen twice because of the same man. Jimmy. Havoc.
Brookside: I really enjoy what Havoc does in the ring and his out of the ring antics are interesting to say the least. Recently he has done something that many have tried and failed to do, he seems to have inspired you. I can barely manage that but God help me, anything that lights a fire under your arse is a good thing.
Corbin gives Brookside a funny look
Brookside: As you were saying - Jimmy Havoc
Corbin: It seems when there is a goal, when a number one contender shot is the prize he has my number. Worry not Jimmy boy, next time we are in the ring together it will be for the Breakout title one on one, no Nakumura or Sami to mess things up for me, & the result will be the same as the first time we met. Strong victory for Corbin.
Brookside: Still, to get to that point you have to overcome two potential threats - Jay Lethal is a man who has been around the scene forever, he has plenty of titles elsewhere and he can be rather unpredictable, still since he's been in EBWF he seems fairly grounded. You should probably count yourself lucky
Corbin: Is that right? Well, when it comes to Jay Lethal, I have made a habit of taking well established stars and plowing right through them. There is no reason why this occasion, this triple threat should be any different. Am I right?
Brookside: Of course you're right. Don't forget lad, I'm backing you for a reason. You're the biggest dog in this fight and once we do a bit more refinement your bite will be even more deadly.
Corbin: Sounds like a plan. As for my other opponent - Karl Anderson, I like the way you conduct yourself boy. You have a big mouth and it hasn't exactly endeared you to the EBWF fans. Welcome to the club if you'll excuse the expression. You know more about Anderson than I do. What do I need to watch out for?
Brookside: No offense Baron but I know more about any of the wrestlers past and present than you could ever dream of knowing. To answer your question though. It's hardly breaking news that he spent years in Japan fighting those crazy bastards. He might be relatively small but I would say he packs the hardest punch out of the three, don't let his size fool you, he can be formidable and he's got something to prove same as you.
Corbin: Fascinating! You know, I swear I was told this was booked to be a four way, I did look at the card but I can't think of who the fourth person was meant to be
Brookside laughs
Brookside: You're not joking are you? The fourth man is - your friend and mine, Matt Sydal
Corbin: Really? Who let that guy into a number one contenders match? I know he's the Internet's darling but there has never been a man less deserving. If I had to choose one plus side l would give Matt Sydal this. He keeps bouncing back from the beatings that are handed to him week after week after. I don't know how to feel about the idea of that guy in the match. On one hand Sydal gives me the opportunity to end this one quickly but then Anderson and Lethal could steal one from me using the weak link. I really don't know how to feel about this Robbie.
Brookside: Want my advise?
Corbin: Always!
Brookside: Make him fly!
Corbin: Was that another pop culture reference Robbie? You're becoming like that very uncool uncle who still tries to stay relevant. It's cringe worthy
Brookside: Oi! That's exactly what I'm going for so shut your mouth. Anyways, on a serious note I would try to keep the liability in the ring and look for a way to distract the other two at the opportune moment. If only you had something they didn't, a way of causing a bit of a ruption with Lethal and Anderson. A way to put the wildcat among the pigeons! We'll have to think on this one lad
